“Is this a real 4* or what?”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2012

Stayed there for a business meeting I have contributed in organizing.. made decision based on so many promises from the management, which has hard time to deliver. Here are the pros and cons. Location is really great - just in front of the Bouregreg marina in historical spot. But that's about it in terms of pros.. The cons are a multitude: rooms hardly 3* standard, meeting facilities poor and inequipped, even wireless internet access is problematic, the food so so - managed to get sick with a turista, for the firt time and in my own country! It was most probably the shrimps in the salad bar. Service is inefficient and the staff not well trained..

Stayed one night as part of a tour so I can't rate the value. This hotel was unanimously voted by all 22 as the worst hotel of our 18-day trip. The food was inedible - typical mediocre cafeteria type food not even hot. The dining room staff was totally rude and we worried about cleanliness after seeing the waitstaff eat with their hands and then handle our silverware. The maitre d' yelled at us for starting a new table and tried to seat us with another tour group only to have more of our group come in and sit at the table where we started. There was a view of the medina from the roof which looked better in the dark, with a very small pool area - would never have spent time there. Room and bathroom was ok. beds a little too firm and flat pillos. No iron in the room. Located directly across from the medina which appeared to be a not so nice part of the city (vacant and run down buildings). Did not leave a good impression of Rabat.

Room Tip: If you want a good room, stay at another hotel!

The hotel on the face of it is good value and the location is good for seeing some of the sights of Rabat. The staff were attentive and very helpful and the roof pool bar is certainly the place to go in the evening with great views across the city. The rooms however are very 'tired' and really do need to be updated as do the towels which were well worn. The price for a business room was OK at around €120 for the night. I stayed for two nights which were fine but I would have been dissappointed if I had been travelling for a holiday!

Difficult to find something nice to start the review ... ok, room space was not bad, and the room would even had been nice a looooot of year ago. Now it is really not well kept. There is a hole in the bathtube (ok, two holes as one is normal ...) when we arrived we found the towels used by the previous clients in the bathroom, which the staff took more than one hour to correct, by now maybe some of you are saying that you have been in worst places, true but they call themselves a 5 star hotel and make us pay for it.
Food is inqualificable, bad, bad, bad - if you are trying to start a starving diet this is the right place, and the staff force you to pay them directly your consuptions as they would not accept to bill it to your room

Room Tip: Do you still want to choose a room to this hotel?

This large hotel is in a great location, just an enjoyable walk downhill to the historic artisans medina (souk) and with lovely views across the water. It is appointed like a standard western business hotel.

The room we checked into very late at night had water dripping from the light socket above the toilet. When we complained, a technician was sent immediately to explain that this was normal, it was only the condensation from the A/C on the other side of the wall that dripped out there. Sure enough, it seems that someone had made several holes in and around the light socket in order to let water drain out more easily and drip steadily on the person sitting on the toilet. We groped around the bathroom in the dark rather than risk being electrocuted.

We switched rooms the next morning. Our new room had a locked safe, two broken lightbulbs, nothing whatsoever in the minibar, and no extra pillows. When we asked for these things to be fixed, we were repeatedly assured that something would happen immediately. After three reminders and two days, the manager himself came up to open the safe and the minibar was filled. The lightbulbs were never replaced.

Room Tip: Room 343 includes a risk of electrocution.

I stayed here for one night and couldn't wait to move to the Sofitel. The entire hotel is run down, with the only good feature the rooftop bar, which has a breathtaking view of the medina and waterfront. Prices are excellent for drinks as well. Come to the bar...skip the hotel.

Room Tip: I wish I could help, but I was not aware of a better room.

Adequate bathroom and bedroom space but the beds were not particularly clean and there were a lot of ants in the bathroom. They had limited added features - the food was mediocre and there was no iron. The location is very good, nearby the wall of the old city and close enough to the train station and new city.
