“Avereage place to stay for a higher price”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2012

I arrived in Rabat via Dubai-Casablance from Mumbai. I expected to see a better hotel for the price of 40 euros/day. But it was an average hotel with good fountain next to the restaurant. Breakfast was just about ok. The only good person in staff was Zahour (waiter) who was very helpful. The lady in the reception desk was very slow & low in understanding things due to language & communication barriers. Only only good thing about the service of the hotel was its Wi-fi Internet which was having a very good speed. Hospitablility of the staff was average. I had to get the taxi myself when I was leaving from Morocco, for which the hotel staff said there was nothing they could do about it. Another good thing about this hotel was its location, where you can get taxis & stuff to buy from the nearby shops. At night, it gets nasty as you can see unscruplous people about (both men & women) doing shady deals, which makes you feel uneasy. Its definitely not a family oriented hotel. Its ok for solo travellers

Room Tip: Have a look before you settel down in the rooms you have booked. Avoid the hotel if you are with you...

Based on other reviews this hotel was about what I was expecting, a decent, fairly low cost international hotel. The wifi only worked in the lobby and then could be temperamental, the bathroom was in need of some updating but it was clean and roomy enough. We stayed on the second floor and there was a lot of work going on to first floor rooms while we were there so I expect they will be a better standard in the future. Its main feature was the location, easy to find, walkable to all main places in central Rabat, handy for the medina and the beach. Because it's next to the taxi rank for big taxis it's easy to pick up a local taxi there and it's right next to a tram stop too.

Room Tip: an inside room will be quieter

Easy to locate, right opposite the Medina and next to the taxi rank. Hotel staff very helpful and friendly. Facilities clean and fairly well maintained.

It was not my first choice but in lack of place in my usual hotels there was a confirmed booking with expedia (an italin booking system normally reliable). I arrived with my confirmation number and at the desk where a lazy madam told me: I don't care about your reservation I have no room for you. I gently asked to verify, she dind't do that, and franky speaking she had a real mess in the desk with documents falling on the floor and not recoverd. I called Expedia and they call the Hotel, but the same answer. I remained in the lobby, my company searched and found a room in another hotel, the lazy madam in front of me. When I received the new hotel address I gave my thanks to the lazy madam for the professionality and availability (yes a bit ironically) and she answered me, i have the room, now.
So I realized that the trick is that the reservation are on low priority, they dont' ask for pre-payment so they are free to give the room to normal customers without royalties to web-booking companies. This was confirmed by a french tourist that had the same treatment. I was lucky why I found another better hotel (it is easy to be so) rather than the bad looking and bad managed hotel.
The lobbby was dirty and bad smelling, i don't know what was inside and I will not discover anything about it. I hope you too !

Good for 1 or 2 nights. Right in front of the Medina, wich is a must see! The street side is very busy, the inner side not. Although you don't have a terrace, you won't miss it, those on the street side are to smokey anyway. Good breakfast,

Room Tip: not on the street side!

After reading others trip adviser reviews I was not expecting this to be a good hotel .However, Rabat is an expensive city for accommodation and I would have had to pay half as much again if had been my first choice, and was staying 3 nights. Having said that, this hotel is in a really good location, close to where most things of interest are and it is also within easy walking distance of train station. There is also a large pleasant park towards side of hotel.
Everywhere in hotel was most clean, the staff were helpful and efficient with a pleasant foyer and reception. I was booked single standard but given a comfortable double. Bed was firm, bed linen and coverings were all clean and soap and towels were all fine. There was also plenty of hot water always available, although the toilet tissue was no more than just ok. It was warm in the room overnight and to be fair not that much noise despite the busy main street. Everything in room functional and lifts operated fine. Breakfast was Moroccan, but quite sufficient and help yourself. Avoided booking dinner because of previous reviews.
Price of this hotel is very reasonable for Rabat, and yet I would rate it actually as a good 3*.
I would certainly go back to this hotel, should the price differences remain the same.
Rabat itself is a mostly pleasant city with the Hassan Tour and Mausoleum, the beach and the Kasbah Des Oudayas only short walking distances away . Chellah is really short taxi trip but can be walked in 40 minutes. The entrance to the Medina is directly opposite.

Old hotel with old furniture but warm in winter and rather clean. Bathroom facilities are almost completely worn out. The corridors are quite gloomy. It can be really noisy if you have windows facing the street. Breakfast is average and the staff is ok. The location is very central, just next to the Medina.

Free wi-fi in the lobby but smoking is allowed there so it can be impossible for a non-smoker to sit there and inhale the smoke.
