“Very comfortable and individual place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2014

I spent two nights here a few weeks ago, and it's a beautiful place to stay. The staff are extremely welcoming - no matter what time you arrive - and always willing to help you and give you travel advice. The rooms are extremely comfortable and have been very well designed, with a real 'personal' touch. The area is charming too, even if it's easy to get lost if you don't speak Arabic! A highly recommended place to stay that I fully intend to go back to.

I stayed with a travelling companion in this Riad and was so excited by the whole experience. It was beautiful, small, and decorated so stylishly. The bedroom had a doorway that went into the central courtyard where meals were taken and one could sit and enjoy the experience. The central courtyard was like a conservatory with a clear roof so that it was light filled. The bathroom was generous and well appointed. 2 beds in the room made it a bit of a tight fit but that fact is easily overlooked because it is such a great place. It was also an interesting walk to get to the Riad - down a whole lot of little laneways until arriving at the front door which was a large one in a plain wall. On opening that door though it revealed this little gem. The owner was a very friendly man who made our stay very enjoyable. If you want a small Riad with lots of character and personal attention you can't go past this one.

I brought my 15 year old son to Morocco for spring break, and we spent our first night at this lovely riad in Rabat. It is small, but very nice with a beautiful Moroccan-style vibe. Our host assisted us with getting our luggage from the car and traversing the short walk throughout the old medina alleys to the riad. Our room was great --- long and narrow, with high (and cool painted) ceilings. They brought in an additional bed for my son, and both our beds were comfortable. The bathroom was quite modern in style --- cool modern concrete floors and countertops, with a "wet" style shower (no separate shower stall). That night, we took a short walk to the street where there is a market , vendors, and food --- we found a shawarma stall and ate a casual dinner there. Back to the road for a restful night's sleep. Our room had a balcony which overlooked the courtyard. They set up breakfast on the balcony for us the next morning: peaceful, wonderful, and delicious. Breakfast was fresh bread, crepes, fruit, yogurt, jams, honey, butter, mint tea (they offered us eggs but we were full). I would highly recommend staying at this intimate riad!

Room Tip: We were on the second floor --- with a balcony where we had breakfast!

We spent 2 nights in Art Riad over Christmas, and very much enjoyed our stay. Our room was a classic riad-style arrangement of a long skinny but very tall space, with a shared balcony overlooking a pretty interior courtyard. The bed was very comfortable and large, the bathroom will fitted out with a large wet-room style shower. Breakfast was especially nice. The staff were helpful and friendly but kept very much out of the way otherwise. We were in Rabat during rather poor weather conditions, but had a great time anyway. The sister riad to Art Riad is an even more impressive building, and is a must-see. We had a delicious quiet dinner there that was our best meal in Rabat by far. I would definitely recommend Art Riad.

Dear BruceTraveller,

Thank you very much for this nice review, so many details that will really help our future guest. We are really happy that you enjoyed your stay.
This is true that in winter the weather is sometimes bad and the city humid. Otherwise, I suggest you to come back in Spring to enjoy the terrace or maybe the swimming-pool at Riad Kalaa, the sister riad you mentionned.

We really hope to see you again very soon,

A very nice property, friendly staff, nice rooms (very well furbished and decorated), an extensive breakfast... all these elements made our stay at Art Riad Rabat an excellent one. The Riad is located in the heart of the city Medina, all major sights are within walking distance. A very good choice for everyone.

What a wonderful treat it was to stay at Art Riad. We arrived quite late in the evening but were greeted with a smile and a cup of Moroccan tea. Hicham, our host was a delight and extremely helpful. The room was lovely, modern amenities, quiet surroundings. A wonderful breakfast every morning with easy conversation with fellow guests or with our host. He was more than happy to give advice on sites to see and even helped us learn a bit of the Moroccan language! Art Riad is in the medina so you can experience the sites, smells and flavors of the markets and is within walking distance of many of the historical sites of Rabat. After a busy day it was wonderful to return to the riad; truly an oasis within the Medina. Quiet and quaint, a taste of Morocco.

Art Riad is a little hard to find the first time around in the Medina. But once inside you enjoy the peace and moroccan Riad style of this fine hotel.
After a nice cup of tea served by the always smiling host of the hotel, you can relax in one of the 5 nicely decorated suites, each with its own bathroom with hot running water. All facilities are clean and well maintained.
Beds are good, breakfast is nice. Rooms are private, each facing the inside of the building.
The medina feels save, even at night and is closeby to the parking lots on Avenue Laalou where you can find a taxi to discover Rabat.
For more services like restaurant and hamman massage you can go to the nearby partner hotel Kalaa which is a bit bigger and more expensive.
