“Cute little riad with enclosed courtyard.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2013 via mobile

You will definitely need someone to help you find your way. This is more due to the medina than the riad.

The riad was impeccably decorated, clean with good service.

We only found everything a bit small. Especially since we weren't supposed to be staying there but no one informed us until we arrived that they had switched riads on us. The breakfast area is one table so we had to eat "in shifts" with the other guests.
Our room was also very small and the shower frustrating as water would spread across the floor.
Everything in the place including toiletries referred to the riad kalaa, owned by the same people, so we kind of felt we were in the lesser place.
They sent us to riad kalaa for our meal which was wonderful, but it would have been nice to stay in our own place.
Overall, I think they do a great job and it is a clean and safe place to stay.

Thank you for sharing your experience. Art Riad and Riad Kalaa are managed by the same person, reason why there are lots of thing in common (free access to the swimming-pool in Riad Kalaa, to the restaurant as well). Art Riad is more like a B&B, with a familial atmosphere.

My wife and I spent 4 nights at Art Riad in May 2013 and loved every minute of it. The room was very clean and exquisite with a beautiful decoration and the shower was absolutely very good.. The Wi-Fi is pretty good... the location of the Riad is in the heart of the old medina and pretty close to the market Swika and close to the beach (just like 15 mins in walk) .. the breakfast meals were so yummy (coffee, Moroccan tea, fresh orange juice, Moroccan bread (lmsamen, baghrir) cake and the regular bread, Moroccan oil, honey, eggs, dates and much more…) the Riad’s staff are THE most wonderful people, Hicham is the master of charm, warmth and hospitality. We were made to feel highly valued guests throughout our 4 nights spent in Rabat. Do not hesitate to ask Hicham for any question u may have, he is very helpful person and he can show u directions in Rabat or addresses (like restaurants for example) Hajar also is a nice person and welcoming and she is always ready to serve you at any time you need her.

We felt completely relaxed, comfortable, and looked after - Thank you all at the Art Riad for making our holiday a dream one.. and we recommend you to choose Art Riad at any time you visit Rabat, u will not regret.

We stayed as part of a small tour.  Very beautiful accommodation inside the medina. Totally quiet at night except for calls to prayer. Rooms and public areas beautifully decorated.   Internal Balcony has beautiful view onto central courtyard.  Whole place is stunning.  Staff were extremely welcoming and friendly.  Breakfast excellent. Rooms spotless.  You will need advice from staff finding your way into the medina but riad is not far in.
They have an arrangement with neighboring riad kalaa for dinner - this was excellent food and a memorable setting - would highly recommend
Riad can also arrange transfer from Cassablanca airport (70 euros at this time).  But if you take this don't miss out on Hassan II mosque at Cassablanca

Clean, very quiet and in a good location. Only lacking ambience... When compared to it's sister Riad Kalaa.

We stayed 3 nights in a couple if rooms: terasse 1 & violetta. Recommend violetta - cosy and gets a lot of fresh air & sun during the daytime.

We ate at Riad Kalaa a few times - The food was absolutely delicious (and we are serious snobs when it comes to food).

Art Riad is a perfect reprieve after a long day of walking and sight seeing, but if you are looking for something with more character, romance and charm - Riad Kalaa it is!

Dear Sir,

I thank you for taking the time to write a comment about your experience in Art Riad. This is true that Art Riad is totally different from Riad Kalaa. The atmosphere is more friendly, more simple but offers you calm in the very heart of the medina (close to shops, ocean, restaurants...).

I will tell to our chef that you enjoyed the food served in Riad Kalaa. It will encourage her to improve the quality.

Best Regards,

Laetitia

I stayed two nights in Art Riad, the little sister of Riad Kalaa. It is not as grand as the other riad but I liked the peacefulness of it. Our room had a few issues, which were addressed by Laetitia in Riad Kalaa. She is very professional and has a very good staff looking after both. The room was small but efficient and nicely decorated. Breakfast was also good- fried pancakes, yogurt, fruit, coffee, and eggs were available if wanted.

Get a map beforehand. It is hard to find in the warren of the Medina. Also, don't turn the shower up to full blast if you want to avoid a flooded bathroom- its too strong for the plumbing!

This sister property to Riad Kalaa is about 100 yards away from Kalaa in the twisty/turny medina. (Tip: Turn left, then right at the two intersections where you have an option, and you’re there. Works each way.) We were there for two nights and had the riad to ourselves, which was great for our family of five. The staff was very nice, with fine English at Riad Kalaa and more limited English at Art Riad, but enough to get us what we needed. The rooms are simple and clean, with excellent Wi-Fi. We had a delicious breakfast each morning in the central courtyard, and loved our introduction to Moroccan pastries, breads and jams. Note: The mosques in the Medina blast the early morning call to worship. We woke up around 5:30 a.m. each day, but we easily fell back to sleep.

Dear Madam,

Thank you very much to take the time to post your detailed review on trip advisor. In deed, Riad Kalaa facilities are open for Art Riad's clients.

Sorry about the wake up with the mosquee...

Do not hesitate to come back if you come again in Rabat, it will be a pleasure.

Best Regards,

Laetitia

This is a great Riad in the heart of Rabat's Medina. Rooms are a little small but very tastefully decorated and very peaceful. Lovely breakfast with Moroccan pancakes and mint tea, though I would echo another review by saying that some fresh fruit would make them even better. There is a great roof terrace for watching sunset over the Medina. But the best reason to stay at this Riad is Hicham and his family. Hicham so genuinely friendly and welcoming and is always ready to help with anything you need, including showing me how to cook tajine. This for me was the highlight of my time in this Riad and I ended up extending my stay by a few days. Another great plus is that you also have access to the rooftop pool at the nearby Riad Kalaa - great for cooling down after a morning sightseeing or shopping in the Medina. I would definitely stay here again.
