“Very Nice & Neat place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2013

Stayed for 2 nights on March 2012, the room we got is on the roof terrace, 350Dh per night, included breakfast, free wifi. The light breakfast was pretty good. Very nice decorate, cleanliness - fair/clean, family/staff are smile at the time. Best place in Meknes!

This family run riad is fantastic. I stuffed up our booking and arrived a week late, but they made us feel welcome, and found a room for us. No mention of any extra fee! Would absolutely stay there again in a heartbeat.

We stayed here for two nights in November 2012 as the second place on a whistlestop tour of Morrocco. We arrived from Rabat and were dropped off in the main square, alive with donkeys, snake charmers and medicine men trying to sell camel heads, ostrich eggs and dead lizards to passers by for God knows what purpose. We called the Riad and were told to wait by one of the small city gates and we would be picked up. Sure enough, our host arrived a few minutes later and we were led on foot through the vast labarynth of alleyways that made up Mekne's souks.

As the small wooden door, set inside a big wooden door, opened Ryad Bahia looked cosy and homely. Terracotta floors, whitewashed walls and a winding staircase led into the sky. Small it was not however, it was a TARDIS opening up into a large internal courtyard, with tables and chairs where we would have two wonderful breakfasts and a beautiful home cooked meal.

The room was up a flight of stairs. Very traditional decoration, simple, yet colourful, with a four poster bed, berber rug and a clay fireplace. Wandering round it was clear to see that although it was a guesthouse, it was a family home as well, which guests were allowed to wander about as they pleased.

If you stay here you must ask if they will cook for you. The tagines were delicious; the breakfasts were an array of different pancakes, breads, jams, cheeses, honey and olives; all washed down with fresh mint tea.

If ever I return to Morrocco, I will come back here

We stayed for three nights as our base for travel to Volubilis and Fes. It was so nice to come back to this riad each night as the owner, Bouchra greeted us, made sure our day went well, and made arrangements with our driver for our tours. We felt so at home. The rooms are beautifully decorated, there were lots of living and outdoor areas for relaxing throughout the riad, and the rooftop had amazing views of the mosque as the sun was rising and setting each day, especially during the call to prayers. My daughter's favorite breakfast item was sfinge, Moroccan donuts, and Bouchra made sure she had them daily.
The location of this riad within the Medina was excellent, with some of the best quality shops of handmade goods nearby. We enjoyed the people in Meknes
Be sure to try the local hamman.

Room Tip: We had five and the family room on the top floor was perfect.

Very easy to find (signs direct you toward it from the back of the main square and also are scattered about in the medina itself) this family run riad is clean, very nicely decorated and impressively large with many sitting areas sprawling around the inside and roof.

The family who run the riad were very friendly and helpful

This is a very charming riad with a very nice and quiet patio, and very friendly and helpfull staff. It's located in the medina. We found the riad on our own following the signs. The koran school is only a few minutes walk away.

We had a nice room on one of the upper floors. We're not sure if it's the lila room mentioned by others but our bathroom was stinky too. The bathroom is a bit small.

Breakfast and dinner were very good.

Room Tip: Try to get a room that's not located above the alley because of the noice.

We had a very pleasent stay at this riad. We were given "the penthouse" room which was great as it gave us good views of the surrounding areas and was peaceful and quite.
The rooms were well furnished as were the common areas and the dining area. There was a large flatscreen TV in the common area for all to use . Everything was clean and well kept.
We had a traditional dinner which was excellent as was the breakfast the next morning.
The riad is well located just of the main square which makes it easy to go for a stroll and come back to the security of your accomodation.

Room Tip: If you can get on of the rooms at the top do so as the views are great
