“Nice place for short stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2013 via mobile

Oldish hotel, which can do with some repairs. It is clean place, nice lobby and superb garden which is great place to spend early morning or afternoon. In the evening terrace is busy owing to the remoteness of hotel from the city centre. No city information is available at reception. Food, typical for moroccan hotels, breakfast same as in others, some croissants and rolls, traditional berber pancake, eggs, coffee and tea. In the restaurant, waiting staff disinterested in the guests and need to wait for the ordered. Catch the waiter and pay straight away other way you may end up chasing him in order to pay.

A horde of small flies and mosquitos, air conditioning not working, rock hard bed, tired furniture and fittings, this hotel is badly in need of refurbishing. Breakfast was sparse and groups of tourists fought over what was there. Superficially the hotel has some faded charm, and the foyer is relatively impressive.

Room Tip: Take a good look first.

We arrived there after a very long and tiring journey from Marrakech. The hotel is very stylish (Moroccan style) and without any doubt with character, but the hotel condition is poor, it really needs good renovation (peeling walls and railing, broken tiles, running faucets). Our room was quite big with a hall and a spacious bedroom, high ceilings give a lot of air. The room overlooked the city and the view was great.
Its owners have all the chances to turn it into a really great place if they make an effort.

First impressions are good with a long impressive driveway leading you into a large, grandly decorated foyer. The room was a good size with a small balcony overlooking the cemetery next door. It was clean, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was very good. The free wifi access was poor but the staff were helpful and friendly. It was a little bit out of town but a nice place for a short stay.

Stayed 1 night during an organised tour of Morocco. The hotel looks good from the outside but the rooms and pool let it down. The hotel is in a good location with nice views over Meknes. The hotel was built in the 1920s and although retains much of its original character, appears to have had little maintenance in recent years. We found the hotel staff to be friendly and helpful. Our room was relatively small, it was clean although the fittings and furnishings were dated. Breakfast in the hotel was good. It is difficult to see how the hotel is 4-star. 3-star would be mre appropriate in our opinion. If you are after an interesting hotel with plenty of character stay at the Transatlantique, if not, stay somewhere else. It

Apparently the oldest hotel in Meknes and the only one with a 4 stars rating. View from the hotel over Meknes is nice and Service is ok. We had 2 connected rooms in the "New Building", large, clean and sunny. As the hotel was half empty, we did not suffer from any noice nuisance. 2 old style pools not very well cleaned (30 min minimum to get a towel also...), a nice garden and a buffet breakfast are the other facilities of this hotel.

The antithesis of its namesake in Casablanca; everything worked well, rooms were comfortable, excellent restaurant with a distant view of the medina, nice swimming pool. A very comfortable hotel. The only drawback was slow Internet connection.

Room Tip: Rooms on the medina side have a view.
