“Linda and Anita - fantastic weekend!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2011

We arranged with Laurent for a pick-up at the airport and return and this all was perfect, as the taxi was waiting for us on arrival.

We arrived Friday night to a welcoming dinner prepared by the chef at the riad, which was the best food we had in Marrakesh.

Laurent was the perfect host giving us a "school lesson" on the area, what to do and who not
to get taken in by. The riad itself was very comfortable, with nothing too much trouble for any of the staff. In fact it was just like home from home. We met some of Laurent's friends and had no problems conversing with everyone despite our lack of French.

The location was great as we were right in the heart of things instead of being trapped in a modern hotel outside the walls.

Laurent arranged a mountain trip for us which was awesome. I would recommend this Riad and I would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: Choose a room on the first floor overlooking the riad courtyard.

This beautiful riad is a haven of peace and tranquillity in the heart of bustling Marrakech. Laurent is a perfect host who introduces you to the city and has a wealth of knowledge. He and his staff make you really welcome and it feels very much like home. We stayed in September 2011 for three nights and then went out of the city for a few nights and returned for our final 3 nights – we were so happy to be back. Everything about the riad, from the courtyard to the terrace, is lovely. We stayed in two different rooms and both were beautiful. We had a totally positive experience and cannot come up with a single criticism.

What is there to add to what other people say? The location is great - just off the street leading from the Medina (Place Jemaa el Fna and the main souk area) to the Kasbah (the palaces and the slightly less frenetic shopping souks to the south). We felt sorry for those staying out in the big hotels on the outskirts, who had to trek in to see the action.
The accommodation is everything you could want from a traditional small riad but with the advantage of air-conditioning to the rooms and wi-fi throughout. We specially enjoyed the roof terrace for sunset (watch the sun disappear and listen for the call to prayers from all the mosques which follows), the courtyard in the shade of the orange trees for breakfast in the cool of the morning, and the refuge of a/c in the bedroom in the fiery midday heat.
Laurent was the ideal host. He gave us a thorough briefing on arrival, and was always there when we needed him for advice during our stay. He dealt flexibly and willingly with a couple of changes of arrangements we wanted to make. He even got out his guitar during our last evening!
The airport pick-up and return went like clockwork, which is a relaxing experience in any country but especially so in such an exotic destination as Marrakech.
So well done Laurent and also Tripadvisor which led us to his door!

It seems a bit pointless reiterating what everyone else has said here, but it's all true. This place is a haven and simply the perfect place to stay in Marrakech.

We stayed here with our 20 month old daughter. She loved the atmosphere and was so excited to explore her new residence. (Mainly, she terrorised the cat for 4 days - sorry Laurent!)

One of the highlights of this place is the food. It was without doubt the best food we had in Marrakech and I am determined to attempt a lamb and prune tagine to the same standard at home. The chef is amazing and certainly knows her stuff. It may be nice to experience the food out on the main square, but the food at the riad will never disappoint.

One point worth mentioning, the riad is down a street which doesn't allow for taxi's. No problem, but if you arrive late at night and the taxi driver orders you out the cab to walk down some dark alley way, don't be alarmed!

We will definately have fond memories of this place and if we find ourselves back in Marrakech we will most certainly try and get a room here. Laurent is the perfect host and he has some great advice about the city. Go on the Atlas tour - it's a complete contrast to Marrakech and perfect for a bit of piece and quiet.

My husband and i stayed here for 3 nights last week while we were in Marrakech and we absolutely loved it. I had heavily relied on Tripadviser reviews before choosing this Riad, and i can honestly say that we could not have been happier with this choice. Laurent was such a fantastic host and gave us so much advice and many useful tips, wihich really made the whole experience special. We would have been lost without his tutorial on arrival and brilliant map. He also took the time to walk us to the main square and showed us the best place to exchange our currency. He even sourced Argan oil for me when i mentioned i wanted to take some back with us!! The Riad itself is clean and comfortable and as mentioned in other reviews, you can enjoy breakfast any time- even when we woke up at 1pm on one of the days!! We loved Marrakech and are planning to return soon, and we will definitely stay with Laurent again- thank you so much for looking after us so well!

My girlfriend and I stayed here for a week between Sunday 28th August and Sunday 4th September 2011. Laurent the owner was extremely welcoming and helpful and we could not fault the guest house or the service, the food there was amazing (we ate there on our first night) and by far the best food we ate and very reasonably priced. The guest house and a very homely feel to it and Laurent would go out of his way to organise trips for us and make us feel at home. The guest house is conveniently located within a few minutes from the old market square. Without Laurent’s tips guidance and advice we would not have had such an enjoyable trip. I would not hesitate to recommend the guest house to friends or family, it is very reasonably priced too and includes a very nice breakfast which you can eat at whatever time you get up! 10 out of 10 all the way, brilliant place to stay.

After the hustle and busyness of Marrakech it was great to return to Riad Aguerzame which is both clean and comfortably appointed. Our host Laurent was terrific at organizing tickets, events and outings for us as well as giving clear advice on what was best to do and when to do it. The food and service were exceptional.
