“nice, not bad”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2012

Very hard to find. Were lost finding the Riad finally when we got there at 1am the lady happily opened up and showed us to our rooms offering to make us something to eat too.
sevice wasn't bad maybe because we were'nt really there all the time.
Overall not a bad place.

not sure if there was a swimming pool.

Room Tip: make sure the a/c is working

“Lovely riad!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2012 via mobile

This was the first place we stayed at on our trip to Morocco and we were very happy with it. It was very peaceful and the owner was really helpful and arranged a camel trek for us and helped us with anything we needed. The staff are friendly and our room was perfect for us, the courtyard was especially nice. It was a little more expensive than other places we have stayed but worth the money

“home from home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2012

we stayed here for a week really did feel at home the staff really made us feel welcomed. the owners should really be proud off there new staff as they are wonderfull. I would stay here again. the only thing that concerned me was the location off this place as it can be confusing to find but once you have been been around a few days its fine. if you do get lost just ask a local but dont ask the kids as they will want money and if they ask you if your looking for the Riad just say no to them that you are fine they will leave you alone. If you want the Raid experiance this is the place to stay.

“Cozy and friendly but needs sorting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2012

We can't really fault the Riad staff. The manager, Khalila, was excellent in may ways and did a good job in making us feel at home, from the moment we first walked in. She and the staff were always patient, friendly and even helped us sort out our last minute gifts in the local markets. In fact, they also gave us a farewell gift which was very nice from them!
The riad has links to travel/excursion companies and can advise and book excursions on behalf of customers, but backpackers will perhaps prefer to save money by booking directly.
The food was amazing - although €15 can be a bit too much, and the room was very clean and had hot water all day long.

On the negative side I'd refer to previous comments about the kids who work for/with/near the riad. Clearly there's a connection between them and the riad which is unclear to customers, but needs sorting, for the sake of the riad's reputation! They are supposed to be guides/helpers, but their lack of care and occasional aggressive behaviour is appalling.
For example, on our second day in Marrakesh, Khalila arranged for two of them to show us the Medina. They did a good job until the moment they took us to one of their uncle's shop, where everyone expected us to buy something. Naturally, this kind of pressure put us off and made us feel uneasy; this was aggravated when they literally abandoned us outside the shop after we refused to buy anything and even though we had given the kids some money for the tour they gave us earlier! It was not easy to find our way back to the riad (even the locals got lost when they tried to help us) and after that we decided not to receive any further offers for help, despite seeing those kids everyday hanging around the riad.
We would advise travellers to keep a map to the riad at hand, since it's very hidden and not easy to find.

Overall, Marrakesh was a good experience and this riad is recommended for the rooms, value for money, friendliness of the staff and great food. But be weary of those kids and try to book trips on your own to save some money.

“A Word of Warning!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 18, 2012

The Riad was charming, but unfortunately the same cannot be said for the Manager Kahalia who was very remiss in her duties to the cliental in her care. We booked a trip & the courier was due to collect us at 7 30am, Kahalia left us a packed breakfast (bread, cheese & dairylea cheese triangle) so she was aware we were leaving early. At 7 30am the courier arrived as arranged, but it was only then, to our horror, that we realised that the front door needed to be unlocked from the inside to get out, & Kahalia hadn't bothered to give us a front door key.
We went up to the sun roof thinking Kahalia may have had an apartment leading off from that area, but found that door also locked. we then woke up a fellow resident who stated they also hadn't been given a key. We then came to the conclusion that Kahalia didn't live on the premises & that she had locked us all in for the night. What would we have done, with no way of getting out & no phone number to call in case of an emergency!
We finally escaped when the courier waiting outside managed to get an answer from a mobile phone number on the outside of the door. Kahalia arrived 15 minuted later, the courier was furious with her, but we never received an apology.
So be warned & make sure she gives you a key to the front door, othwise you won't be able to get in or out of the building without it. Such a shame,it spoilt our city break in Marakesh

Room Tip: Chose a room on the first floor as you can hear guests using the toilet on the rooms that face the c...
