Description: In the heart of the Medina and Souks of Marrakech lies the Rahba Kedima spice square, where old women gather to pound henna for traditional tattoos and sell hand knitted hats, while seasoned vendors run the surrounding spice stores. Within this setting is the now famed Cafe des Epices, the perfect meeting place and rest stop from the heat and commotion of the souks. The inexpensive menu is focused on the simple and fresh, offering teas and coffee, freshly made juices, sandwiches, salads and crepes. The design is correspondingly simple: deliberately paired down and basic in order to offer a peaceful resting place after the visual overload of the Souks. Built over 3 floors, the top terrace offers great views over the square and surrounding Medina, the non-smoking 2nd floor salon is a great place to lounge and the ground floor and outdoor tables are fantastic places from which to watch the colourful comings and goings of the spice square market. Open daily from 9am to 10pm

“Nice spot in the middle of mayhem”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2014

Small, but clean and cheap, nice spot to have a break in the middle of the Souk's
Although it took us a few attempts to find it, but that was just us navigating the Souk's

“Great basic food in people watching square”

Views are amazing from the top but no direction if there are any seats free or not.
The sandwich of fresh avocado and tomato was fantastic.

“Delicious and great food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2014

Possibly the best 'brochette' of chicken I have ever had - quite sublime. Salads were fresh and tasty - service a little slow but a great place to gather strength in before tackling madness of the souks again. Wonderful views over the town - we liked the hats provided to keep us out of the sun.

“Great atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2014

This became our regular lunch stop. The terrace has lovely views to the snow capped Atlas Mountains. Plenty of shade for hot days and reasonably priced acceptable food pleasantly served.

We had a quick bite to eat here. It was reasonably priced and tasty. We loved sitting here watching the world go by. A great place to people watch.
