“A Moroccan dining experience..”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2013

An impressive and well run place in the Marrakech medina; high walls and period furniture, patio and pool, huge lamps from the high ceilings, fireplaces, staircases to the rooftop terraces..., and all this perfectly candle-lit, ensuring - together with the discrete local musicians - an intimate as well as traditional atmosphere. The "all-inclusive" dinner/evening starts with drinks on the rooftop. You then walk down to your table, in one of the many adjoining dining rooms, for a copious dinner: a Moroccan salad mix to start, then two separate main courses and, to finish, a traditional Moroccan desert. Everything is delicious, especially the main courses: lemon chicken tajine and some of the best lamb you will have tasted anywhere! Wine is very good and flows freely. It is definitely something to do as a group, e.g. on a special occasion (though you have to book well in advance). Service is very good.

“Memorable venue with entirely forgettable food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2013

Yes, the interior of this place is amazing, and if you could just take a nice cocktail it would be very highly recommended. But the dinner is a no-choice affair, with no option to take anything apart from one very average tagine. We had much nicer food while in marrakech, for far less money.

For uk diners familiar with the Crazy Bear group, it's a bit like going there, but with vastly inferior food.

For the quality of the food on offer, this place is very over-rated.

Finally, be ready for hassle from all the waiters as you leave, looking for an extra tip.

“Dining Experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2013

An all inclusive menu which included pre dinner drinks, what seemed like unlimited wine, a starter, two different tagines and desert. Reasonable value.

“If you need to choose just one!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013

As always in a destination you should focus on the local cuisine always trying to avoid the tourist traps. As our guide strongly recommended this one I was reluctant and I have choose others before. After trying a lot of beautiful Riads we arrived by chance to Yacout and that was the place.
Go for dinner with a perfect set up menu (which usually I am totally avoiding),
1001 night ambiance, taunting Moroccan music and smooth service.
You just get all in one. Perfect

“Great evening”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2013

Dar Yacout was recommended to us as a must restaurant in Marrakech and I must admit it is. It's hidden in amongst the narrow alleys of the old town behind a very nondescript door! Inside is an oasis, beautifully decorated and wonderful service. Drinks are served on the roof terrace where there is live Moroccan music being played. Dinner is served in the courtyard. It's a fixed price menu and consists of numerous courses so make sure you leave room and all drinks. It was all cooked beautifully and tasted great. I think for the price 750dh it was very reasonably priced and a must!
