“Delicious food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2013

Based on good reviews of the restaurant, we decided to have dinner at Al Fassia. We turned up with no reservation, and even though it was low season, it was a 30 minutes wait before we could get a table. So do book in advance. The food was great. We had a pastilla and mixed samosas for starters, then a lamb tagine with prunes and couscous with chicken and caramelised onions. It was really quite yummy. The red wine was pretty good too. In total, with still water it was just over 500 dhs.

“Reservation Required!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2013

This is a comfortable, authentic Moroccan restaurant. 575 dn for 2 starters, 2 mains, water, soft drink and a local beer. The food is very good and reasonably priced. The Moroccan soup comes in a tureen with enough soup for 3 people! I loved the lamb tagine with prunes. The restaurant opens at 7:30 and within 15 minutes it was full and turning people away that hadn't made reservations.

“Best meal of our trip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2013

The service was good , The main dishes was lovely but the table arrangements are all wrong and are not comfortable. We reserved a table for three and booked it 4 days in advance as was told that it gets very busy.
The table we had was barely big enough for two people and had bench seating one side for 2 people to sit on and a chair the other side. The Table was round and almost touching a larger round table next to us that had 5 people awkwardly sitting around , both of the tables had wobbly legs that the waitresses had to fix. Despite the poor seating arrangements we really enjoyed our main dishes and agreed that it was the best Tagines we had tasted during our trip.
We would definitely come again when we go back to Marrakesh but hopefully they would have invested in some new tables and gave the seating plan some more thought by then.

“Only complaint - too much food!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2013

I ate at Al Fassia restaurant as part of a large group (35 people). We had pre-booked our meals due to the size of our party and found that this worked well. In smaller groups, I am sure this wouldn't be necessary.

The restaurant is very attractive in a modern Moroccan style, which suits it's location, out of the central city and close to a relative new shopping and entertainment complex.

The food was not overly complex or fussy, but was traditional Moroccan and the portions left nothing lacking! The only problem we had was that we couldn't manage dessert.

All told, we were very well looked after, especially for a big group: and certainly well fed - all in attractive surroundings.

“Disappointing, really”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2013

Our lovely riad booked this restaurant for us, and it was their only mistake. The food was rather uninspired. We didn't have the slow-cooked lamb, though.
