“Good location, good service.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2014

This is one of many fine old houses in the Marrakech medina that has been turned into a guest house for tourists. As such it is a pleasant enough place to stay, but not quite special.
The owner looked in occasionally but for most of the time we were looked after very well by Djamila and her assistant. If you ask the previous day Djamila will cook dinner for you, and her two hearty tagines (one chicken, one vegetable) were very tasty and more than three of us could eat. She also organised our laundry and was always full of good cheer.
One morning there was no orange juice at breakfast - seemingly because the person who normally delivers it had not appeared; and one evening we were disturbed by persistent hammering on the front door by a fellow guest who had gone out without his key - and not been told that there are no staff present overnight. So not quite perfect - and the tip for this place is not to go out without your key.

Myself and my friend stayed here and couldn't have asked for a nicer experience. We shared a twin room and it was well decorated, clean, and very comfortable and quiet. The internal balcony overlooked the courtyard where meals were served, which gave the riad a homely kind of feel. The food here was great, the honey served with breakfast was delicious and we booked dinner one evening and had fantastic tagines. The hosts were very kind and accommodating. The roof was our favourite spot, where we could bring our mint tea and watch the whole city from above. The riad was excellently located. We walked everywhere, it took about 5 min to get to the central square and souks. I would go back to this souk tomorrow and highly recommend it.

Room Tip: Try the mint tea!

In no case do not mess with the hotel. The hotel - liars. We made reservations for 5 months prior to the trip. A week before the start of the journey they reported overbooking. After lengthy correspondence, they offered an alternative - a settlement in the same prices and terms riad. When we arrived in Marrakech, it turned out that it is very dirty hotel with no hot water. Thus, the hotel messed up our family Christmas holidays.

The riad is very close to the place djema el fna, but really quiet and relaxed. The rooms are all lovley and tipically furnished, with the warm colors of its beautiful town. The persons working in there are all gentle and nice, helpful for every request...
The rooms are clean and tidy, the bathroom is very nice, the bathtub is very beautiful.
the breakfast is tipically maroccan and huge, with fresh juice and some sweets.
The rooftop gives you a view over the city...
i can only recomend this riad

The Riad Moulay is very conveniently located a short walk away from the Jemaa-el-Fna square, the real (single?) hit of Marrakesh (especially at night). Rooms are really beautiful, nicely furnished, clean. The atmosphere is that of a small, traditional house (available rooms/suites are half a dozen in total), maintained by three nice and helpful women (they even made a washing machine for me). In the summer heat of Marrakesh (some 50 degrees), the Riad Moulay was our oasis of peace. We were guests of this Riad a total of three times. The only reservation I have is that breakfast's quality went down as our familiarity with the Riad increased. Maybe we started to be thought of really as members of the family :)

Room Tip: All rooms are excellent. So, no special tip here.

I loved my stay at the Riad Moulay. The location was excellent - in the Medina and near the main square - and the riad itself was beautiful. My room was much larger than I was expecting for the price I paid, and it was beautiful and comfortable.

The staff were friendly, helpful and professional - e.g. I came 90 mins before check-in time on my first day but rather than being told to come back later a room was prepared for me while I waited.

Breakfast was included and it was at a communal table which gave the opportunity to chat to other travellers.

The only thing I found a bit tricky was finding it initally - you can't take a taxi to the door as the streets get too narrow, and it's just off a main pedestrian street.

I really loved the hotel and would stay there again on other trips to Marrakech. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: Not all rooms have windows (the ones without windows don't feel stuffy/airless/claustrophobic, b...

We were looking forward to our "luxury" riad in marrakesh, but were very disappointed when we arrived. While the staff was pleasant, the upkeep on the riad was just poor. The heater was broken in our room so there was no heat.. The hot water would last about 1 minute at best. The lighting in the room was poor. And there was no way to take a shower without hot water, heat, and a handheld spray nozzle. Burnt out light bulbs were not able to be replaced in the hallways. And it is difficult with such small staff if they leave for an errand as the guests are unable to get into the riad. (We stood outside for about 20 minutes one day until we saw one of the staff walking down the alley.)

Again, pleasant staff, but that was it.
