“Brilliant place to stay!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2013

We stayed here at the end of October/ Start of November this year. The riad sits about a 15 minute drive outside Marakesh's centre and so accessible by taxi. The entrance to the riad is up a bumpy road, but the entrance is a pair of massive gates inside which it felt like we were in a totally different place to that we left outside.

The room was spacious, clean and tidy. There is a safe (but there is a small extra charge for this). The layout of the grounds was perfect, and a lovely pool with plenty of sun loungers/ chairs/ covered areas for people to stay. I dont think it was fully booked when we were there so that probably helped a bit too!!

Food - Breakfast was sugary and sweet. There was a whole array of sweet breads, pancakes and cakes. However there were also eggs, flatbreads, yoghurts and fruit so it was possible to have a variety of foods. The breakfast area is lovely, there is an indoor eating area as well as an outdoor area with a small fountain in it (although lots of wasps when we went who loved the sugary remains so we left some days quite quickly after we'd finished). On an evening, there is a nice menu of varying tagines and dishes the menu was the same all the time (no specials etc) and so after a few days you may get bored but you could always venture into Marakesh itself. There is a lovely bar with nice music playing (although it is mostly the same songs playing every day- but not to the point where it was annoying!!)

There is a car which can take you into the town for a small fee (about 50pp i think) and arrange a time to leave with reception. This stops quite early in the evening so we took taxis back, we have to haggle with taxis and the reception desk gave us the "going rate" as it would have been easy to get ripped off.

In all this was a lovely relaxing trip and the riad is beautiful and would highly recommend it as a place to stay. Full of beautiful flowers, it looked lovely in the day and night, Marakesh itself was very busy and noisy and we went to look at some other hotels and they were no where near as quiet and calm as this one.

“Brilliant riad, relaxing, great service!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2013 via mobile

You arrive to the riad down a bump road passing unfinished buildings and roads. Don't let this out you off, driving through the gates you are greeted by lovely surroundings and friendly staff. We booked a superior suite and were upgraded to an ambassador suite. Lovely room with very large king bed, sitting area, large bathroom with double shower, bath robes, shower products and body creams, door to a private garden with private pool access, this was closed in January as its not heated.
There is a pool bar serving lunch and drinks most of the day, mixed menu. All food was served fresh and delicious.
Breakfast was a selection of mostly cakes, breads, fruit, eggs, tomatoes, hot drinks and fresh juice. Nothing cooked. Nice but sweet.

Evening meals served in the main restaurant were lovely, not a massive selection but well prepared and tasty. Traditional tagines and meat and fish dishes.

The riad have a mini bus on standby to take you into the old or new town, 25dh pp.
You will need this or a taxi if you want to venture out.

The main pool is a great area to relax on the many comfy beds, lovely maintained gardens with olive and orange trees. Towels provided at the pool bar, lots of French and uk mags to read too.

There is also a hammam with a selection of treatments.

There is a large modern shopping mall 30mins walk away with lots of shops and a supermarket, bowling and cinema also kids soft play.

This riad is a perfect get away to relax, close enough to the husstle and bustle of Marrakech and far enough for a calm, relaxing holiday with great service and lovely surroundings.

If you are looking to be in the madness of Marrakech this is not for you. However if you want to take it easy with the choice of everything it's highly recommended.

Visited in January. Will return!

“Tranquil retreat”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 21, 2012

At the airport you will need to change up some money for Dirham, at present 13 to the pound, and when you go change it back. No problem.
This is a perfect place to hide from the real world for a few days, not far from the airport, though rather out of town if you are looking for somewhere to go with nightlife. We spent 6 nights here at the end of November so it was very quiet; bliss. The weather was warm and sunny and perfect for sitting by the pool. We had the Ambassadour Suite which is spacious and comfortable. Be warned, the television programmes in English are limited to BBC News and CNN News, so take plenty of good books or a DVD player for long evenings. This suite has a little private garden with acsess a pool only shared with two other suites. In November the pool is freezing, but still good to sit round in the sun. The steps in and out looked a bit scarey as they were so steep. The main pool is heated, it has a wierd shelf arrangement to get in and out, again, it wasn't easy. Half board is a good option as to buy a meal in the hotel is quite expensive and just popping out for a meal isn't really an option. The food was good, the same menu every night, so after six nights we had tried most things. My companion is vegetarian, the vegetarian option was vegetable tagine with cous cous and a green sauce. Safe to say cous cous is now banned from the house! Breakfast is stodgy, but fills you up, there was toast and hard boiled egg, cake, flat bread, jam, honey, fruit, cereal and milk. Lashings of coffee, tea and orange juice. Another warning, if you are not keen on birds in doors, avoid the restaurant. The birds have sussed this is where the food is and nip in to grab crumbs. They are very calm, not flapping, so we just shooed them out.
The big plus is how clean it is, I have never stayed in such a clean hotel, and the staff are warm and friendly. A trip to the Souk is a must, the hotel 'mini bus' is a good way to go. You can arrange to be picked up at a specfic time and it is very reliable. Both drivers we had were good fun, spoke a little English and loved our attempts at French.
The Souk is a laberynth of narrow streets and it's easy to get lost, however, the people of Marrakesh are all very helpful and they head you back in the right direction! We stopped for coffee and a meal in there and had no after effects! I suggest you go twice if you can. First time to get the feel of the place and second time to really enjoy it. Never pay more than half of the original starting price is great advice we were given. All in all it is a lovely hotel I would highly recommend for a total chill out week. I would definately go back for some Winter Sun.

Room Tip: The suites all seem to be good, we liked being on the ground floor, no stairs to negociate.

“Nice hotel, but limited options”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2012

This is a typical Riad and you can feel quite isolated from the rest of the world. It is situated not far from the airport, or the the centre of town. The staff are excellent in their knowledge and very friendly. The food is OK, maybe a touch stodgy at breakfast. Good size swimming pool and plenty of room around it. So for a holiday base, this is very good. The downsides are that it is down an unpaved track off the main road and with no signposts that I could see indicating where it was. This is even more of an issue at night with no street lighting. I was sent a cab to pick me up from the airport, so he knew where he was going, but I am not sure all cab drivers would. The local area is a bit rough, uncompleted blocks of flats. There are no local shops, or restaurants. Within the Riad there is not much else other then the pool, gardens and a health centre, but no shop to buy suntan lotion, papers, postcards, stamps, etc. It is good as far as it goes, but with a bit more effort it could be even better. I was particularly made aware of this, when for half a day it rained.

This place was not so easy to find and is located at the end of a bumpy gravel road.
Once you get there you become completely Zen.
Friendly and professional staff.
Harmonious and tastefull design of the rooms, the premises and pool. Beatifull garden with old olivetrees and bougainvilles.
Relaxing Spa and Hammam.
Delicious Marrocan and Western food and breakfast!
