“Peace away from chaos”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2012

Stayed at this small hotel for 4 nights in October 2012.
The hotel is located about 15mins by car from the centre of the city.
The hotel is located opposite a new development of houses that are under construction down a very bumpy road - initial impressions based on location are not good so be prepared for this.
HOWEVER upon entering the hotel through the large wooden gates your impression changes totally. The hotel is beautiful and boasts lagre clean rooms, pool (with Ibiza style loungers/beds) bar.The is a Hamman on site wjich is worth a visit and the food is good, though breakfast is te weakest feature of the hotel.
Without exception the staff are very friendly and helpful.
I paid £209 for 4 nihts through Hotels.com
Being out of town is worth the 100 Dirham Taxi fare (£7) or £1.50 (each) into town in the hotel shuttle.
I would say this hotel is quite different to most as it is not a city Riad nor nothing like a western chain hotel in the new city.
It allowed tranquil sun bathing - chill out - in deep contrast to the chaos of the city & I would use it again

“paradise at a good price !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2012

we were upgraded too ! lovely room ,big bed and very comfortable . great shower looking over lush view . the hotel /riad is in its own grounds , we looked around the whole place which took about half an hour . lovely flowers and trees and donkeys and tortious !its like an arabian castle ..amazing .

the pool is very relaxing and very chilled out . good food around pool -about £7 per person .the loungers are very comfortable and plenty of them .beer £3,50 a bottle which seems to be the same price everywhere

the food in the evening was good too .

the taxi shuttle was very handy . just book what time you want to go and when you want picking up 25 dirh each (50 if just you in taxi ), nice helpfull driver although he could only speak french . he works until 8 pm .

for £50 per night i think it is great value .next time i think we will go half board .we have always stayed in town before (this is our 5th visit ) which is a bit crazy so it was so nice to get away to some real peace and tranquility .

staff were all very friendly and helpfull with a good sense of humour !

we will defo be going back . perfect in every way

Room Tip: dont choose room 402 ! thats our room (only jokin !! )

“wonderful, wonderful place!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2012

Just got back last night and wanted to do review while still really fresh in our minds....well where to begin, im a capricorn so not given to flights of fancy but when we arrived and were greeted by the super lovely Adbel , i honestly expected to see Alladdin flying by on a magic carpet!!! the place is awesome!!!...it was nightime when we arrived and the beautiful smell of all the plants and flowers stays with me even now im back home in rainy england...check in was about as laid back as ive ever experienced....we had booked a senior suite but were upgraded to an ambassador suite-i actually squealed with delight (must get out more ;-))....the suite was huge and just like something out of Arabian Nights, huge comfy bed, living area and fab bathroom with walk in double shower bit and lovely smelling lotions and potions....after a delicious 3 course dinner (we went half board and would majorly recommend this if youre just there to chill out as we were!!!) we slept soundly and awoke to beautiful sunshine and after a brekkie of mainly sweet things (my husbands idea of dying and going to heaven!!!)we went exploring and saw our pool shared just between 3 ambassador suites, the main pool area is lovely too, extremely comfy beds, nice quality pool towels and reasonably priced and extensive lunch menu by the pool bar(have no idea why people think any of it is pricey!!!)...after a long hard day sunbathing and chilling we had another fab evening meal (any meat eaters must try the filet steak, absolutely bang on the money in terms of quality!!) and retired to our garden with some wine.....ok the "downsides" though they are almost too insignificant to mention but we have to be fair.....if you have mobility problems the pools may not be for you, i have a dodgy knee and its way to steep at 5ft 5 for me to climb into, my husband at just under 6ft managed ok but there are no "nice" steps or gentle shelving into the pool, its just about a 2ft "drop" into the main pool and even the semi private pool only had 3 huge steps when 4 or 5 would have been perfect...ive checked with hubby and im def not being a baby, they really are steep!!!...also the flies drove us mad but thats just the way it is in beautiful gardens with exotic and fragrant blooms so hardly a deal breaker just make sure you take a good insect repellant...also if its peace and quiet you want then this place couldnt be any more perfect but be warned that after dinner there is nothing else to do,it really is a haven of tranquility but if you want a bit of nightlife then have a think!!....in summary, we want to thank Abdel ,Mustafa and every single one of the staff for giving us such a fab time, have been fortunate to travel reasonably extensively and hand on my heart the staff here are the nicest, friendliest people ive met in hotels , without being remotely smarmy or false......would we recommend Maison des oliviers?????....IN A HEARTBEAT!!!!!!!....wishing you all continued success...

“A lovely, peaceful hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2012

We have just returned from a week at La Maison des Oliviers and were delighted to find that the hotel was every bit as good as we had hoped from the reviews and hotel website. We arrived at around midday, and were told that we had been upgraded from two standard rooms to two suites; although we had arrived much earlier than the advertised check in time, we were able to use one of our rooms straight away, whilst the second was being prepared. The suites were very spacious and attractively decorated, with huge bathrooms.

The hotel was an oasis of peace and calm, and was extremely relaxing. It was so pretty, with fountains and flowers everywhere - walking through the fragrant jasmine to get to the entrance to our block was just lovely. We had read that the food in the hotel was quite expensive, and so booked the half board option, which turned out to be very good value. The food was exceptionally good, and with the half board option we were able to order a three course meal from the small but very adequate a la carte menu. Breakfast was a cold buffet, with a wider selection than I had expected. There are a couple of other restaurants within walking distance, although we didn't try them as the food in the hotel was so good.

The staff at the hotel were all very helpful and attentive, and did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable. The main pool was very clean, and large and deep enough to swim properly. The sun beds were very comfortable.

We had a car for the duration of our stay, and there was ample free parking available. The hotel is only a few minutes drive from central Marrakech, but is far enough out to have a lovely peaceful atmosphere. My only, very minor complaint, is that the hotel appears to only have two CDs, which seem to be on constant repeat play every day - covers of Dancing Queen get a bit irritating after the fourth time in one day!

We hope to return to Marrakech before too long, and would very happily stay at La Maison des Oliviers again.

“A little Piece of Peace in Marrakech”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2012

After reading the reviews on this riad on trip advisor we decided to book and I'm glad we did.

This riad is further out of marrkech than a lot you will see which to me makes it a hugh benefit. It was beautiful. It has a traditional feel yet fully modern facilities. The pool was the best pool I've ever been to in a hotel and around the outside the comfiest sun loungers going. Every day it was possible to get a space around the pool whatever time and that is during peak season. The food was great - I had no problem with the breakfast but then I do have a sweet tooth, and the evening meals and lunch were delicious and well presented. All of the staff here are wonderful - they are kind, friendly and I never once felt pressured by them as I did by people outside of the hotel. The rooms were great too, we got upgraded for free to a suite which meant a huge bathroom and room and our own garden, complete with TV and air conditioning with a lovely courtyard outside. The hotel has a great shuttle service and will take you/pick you up from pretty much anywhere you like and also on site hammam and spa though I didn't know of anyone using it. Free wifi was fantastic to keep in touch with the outside world!

When you approach the riad don't be afraid it is not in a very nice area! It is basically a building site with lots of rubbish and one of our taxi drivers told us it was not a very good area however when you go inside you have no idea what is outside and you can't hear a thing! It's like a peaceful paradise and was perfect to get away from the hustle and bustle of the medina and marrakech. If you want a relaxing and quiet trip with a little bit of luxury - this is for you! Families, friends & couples were all welcome.

The only downsides to this hotel is that it is far out (which for us was a bonus) however it means that you end up spending more money on taxis etc to go ANYWHERE! Even to the supermarket you have to take the taxi so just be warned it can end up being a little pricey if your main trip is to explore other areas of marrakech. Would definitely stay here if I was to return to Marrakech!

Room Tip: We went for a standard and got an upgrade! Glad we got given a suite for more room and a private pat...
