“The Most Beautiful Riad in Marrakech”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 10, 2009

From the moment that Cous Cous the donkey leads you to the Riad , special is the word that comes to mind. This was a joint birthday and wedding anniversary trip that my wife had booked as a surprise for me.
The Riad itself is style and sophistication in its best form. Our "love nest" of a suite with its roof terrace and hot tub was beautiful and spacious and very private.
We not only loved the Riad but also the amazing staff, who are looked over by the ever present and super attentive owner and her loyal and helpful staff.
If you have any questions about Marrakech, where to eat, where to shop, where to experience the true Moroccan evening, the advice is always spot on.
The massage and spa treatments were perfect after our long horse ride in the Atlas Mountains (organised by hotel) and the friendly staff always seemed happy to see us return from our outings!
After a few days it was home from home.

We have no hesitation in recommending this wonderful Riad to anyone thinking of spending some quality time in a romantic and skillfully designed and decorated private hotel.

All in all we would like to thank the staff and in particular Jill for making our stay so very special.

I took my partner for a surprise to Marrakech for a long weekend. We had spent the first two nights of our trip in another fantastic Riad (just 30 metres away) but nothing prepared us for the immaculate design and detail of Riad Noir. The pictures/ website just do not do any justice to the first and lasting impressions you receive when getting a tour of the amazingly appointed Riad.

We were early checking in and our move from the first Riad was organised smoothly and our rooms were ready for us at 11am! Damien was very attentive and made us feel instantly welcome. We stayed in the Zebra Suite which has its own roof terrace and Jacuzzi every detail in the suites from the bed to the décor was exquisite- breakfast and meals were happily arranged on our terrace any time of the day. The gentle sound of cascading waterfalls and pools from our suites balcony blended seamlessly with the piano from one of the many cosy lounges and communal spaces. We were spoilt for choice in where to sit and relax with every corner offering a cosy and luxurious furnishings and for the coller evenings lovely log fires.

We wanted to stay in the Medina in the hustle and bustle of Marrakech but also wanted the luxury and service of a well appointed boutique offering relaxation and calm – we were not disappointed. Everywhere is within good walking distance and the local taxi pick up point is only a short walk away.

Jill was as helpful as she had been throughout the reservation and extended a warm welcome to us and despite a wedding taking over the whole Riad for 4 days – Jill and her staff took everything in their stride and made sure we received the same level of excellent service on which their reputation stands. Damien and Jill could not do enough to offer advice and suggestions on places to go and organise any help we needed.

The most amazing place to stay and we can not wait to return!!!

We stayed at the Riad for 4 nights as part of a family wedding celebration. Jill, the owner and tireless hostess, has built and designed a most exquisite boutique retreat that is a welcome respite from Marrakesh's intense medina. For four days and nights, Jill, Damien, the general manager, and the outstanding staff wined and dined a large group with impeccable style and great patience. No effort to make us happy and spoiled was spared, and we all felt like friends and honored guests. Jill has made use of her interior design background in every nook and corner, creating gorgeous spaces and fabulous surprises everywhere. Beautifully chosen accessories and accents and richly-appointed rooms that exude comfort and Moroccan design chic. We'll definitely be back!

Very beautiful riad, close to souks. Good service, very welcoming. Extremely clean with lovely hamman and pool. Owned and run by an English lady with French influence. Not able to get a taxi to door, but owners happy to arrange any transport required. Lovely breakfast.

We attended a lovely wedding in Marrakech. The weeklong stay at Riad Noir d'Ivoire included well-planned excursions to the market for shopping and street dining, a camel trek, and a chance to explore Morocco's night life. A friendly guide was sent when needed, a courtesy cell phone was provided for each room for emergencies, and reliable taxis were arranged every step of the way. Although we couldn't speak Arabic or French, we got by as one of the drivers spoke a third language, Spanish. The entire staff was willing to bend over backwards to accommodate all requests. Everyone smiled and seemed to enjoy the role they played in extending hospitality. The design of the rooms was to DIE FOR! Much better than ANY hotel. The owner, Jill, was very much hands on with the guests and saw to our every need and desire. The manager, Damien, also enhanced our experience with friendly suggestions of how to best enjoy the city. Shout out to the staff that became part of our "family" during the stay: Aziz, Miriam, Butta, Muhammed, and all the others. Should we venture back to this side of the world, we will be sure to stay at the Riad Noir d'Ivoire and nowhere else!!!

What a truly fantastic place this is. We stayed in the Riad for a week in October to cellebrate my wife's 40th birthday. Our main worry was how our two year old would go down. He's very well behaved but some hotels and their guests can get a bit put out by such a young guest. I needn't have worried. The staff are as wonderful as the other reviews have already indicated and go above and beyond the call of duty to make you feel welcome. The rooms and the decor are fabulous: like something from a film. Many thanks once again to Jill & Damien he are such great hosts. Also to the rest of the staff and the chef who kept producing ever more wonderful meals for us all, especially on our last night. Thanks also to Steve for introducing me to the best Congnac in the world. Makes my XO taste like cheap Scotch.

Have just returned from a three night stay at Riad Noir D'Ivoire - a special celebration weekend for my wife's birthday. I can't praise the Noir D'Ivoire highly enough. The Riad is a wonderful oasis within the medina of Marrakech and is beautifully presented and smoothly run, with a fine attention to detail that makes an oustanding experience. Jill and her team were constantly on hand and helpful with local bookings and tips that enabled us to get the very most out of our short stay. Highly recommended, you won't be disappointed.
