“At home in Marrakesh”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2013

I stayed 4 nights at Riad Noir d'Ivoire, for my partners birthday. From the time of booking the team at the riad took excellent care of all our requests and questions, and made every effort to provide us an excellent stay. And excellent it was.
The hotel is very discrete from the outside, tucked away in a narrow street north of the souk. Inside it's nothing short of wonderful, with a very elegant eclectic decor, and excedingly comfortable. We stayed in two different rooms during our stay, both of them facing the pool courtyard. Again, what a fabulous interior design, very detailed, and what fun rooms to be in. Both had access to a private rooftop terrace with jacuzzi and lounge chairs, ideal for breakfast or late afternoon rest. The bathrooms were decadent, with huge sunlit walk in showers.
The pool was heated, and it felt just like swimming in an over the top giant bathtub. As the weather was greyish and not very hot, it was just perfect.
Rebeca and Damien, the team running the Riad, were super friendly and helpful at all times, which makes a huge difference especially in a city as foreign as Marrakesh. They told as all about the best places to visit, great advice on restaurants, what to buy and where, and really made our stay that much more special.
I didn't have dinner at the hotel, but had lunch a couple of times and it was quite good. Breakfast however could be improved.
I wholeheartedly recommend the Noir d'Ivoire for anyone looking for an authentic, intimate and stylish introduction to Marrakesh.

This is my most favourite place in the world. The Riad is exquisite. The service is exquisite. Rebeca and Afaf along with all of the staff are there to make your stay more than relaxing. Nothing is too much trouble. I learnt about this place years ago, from reading an article, and have been back 4 times and can not wait to return. And I will. I can not recommend it enough.

Room Tip: All of the rooms are superb

We stayed here for our 10th anniversary and could not have been happier with the choice. Rebecca and her staff provided amazing service and the Riad itself is everything we hoped for, they provided us with a Mobile in case we got lost, although we ended up just using it from our bed to let them know whether we wanted breakfast in our room, roof terrace or by the pool - tough decision.
The location is disconcerting to the uninitiated (i.e. us) but after a few days you realise it is the perfect distance between the Jemma and the French Quarter to explore on foot, you really do get to walk straight from a manic street in the Medina into the calm quiet Oasis that is the Riad.
Also recommend Hammam de la rose which is a 10 min walk away, and also nice dinner at Maison MK & Le Salama overlooking the Jemma.
Only problem is wherever we go next will by definition seem like a poor cousin to Noir d'ivoire...

Room Tip: Zebra suite had an amazing roof terrace that we used all the time, with sundbeds. Jacuzzi, WiFi, din...

We arrived after a complicated trip from Spain - avoid Air Maroc - but there they were in the Medina waiting for us. Our luggage was placed in a cart and two delightful staff from Noire d"ivoire graciously guided us through the labyrinth to the Riad. Couscous, the donkey who usually pulls the cart, had already gone to sleep. Upon entering this magnificent house, Rebecca greeted us exuberantly. She had been worried; the flight was late, the time had changed, my email was incorrect, and although she should have been long gone, Rebecca was there to welcome us. She and her deputy, Afaf, immediately took care of everything including a much needed glass of wine. Within minutes, we felt at home.
All the staff were kind, helpful and genuinely interested in our well-being. Our room, Chameau, was exquisite. Beautifully decorated, spacious and very quiet, albeit a bit dark. Breakfast was fresh and perfect, served anywhere you wish - the roof top terrace, poolside, in the courtyard, just ask. Mama's tagines were delicious, and candle light and rose petals on the table make for a very romantic poolside dinner. The Riad has a feeling of serenity that is especially welcoming after a chaotic day in the Medina. As Rebecca said, Noire d'ivoire is a home and a family, and that it is. A perfect one too, friendly and comfortable with helpful hints for navigating Marrakech and resident cats that know when to curl up with you and when not. The hammam was another special treat at the Riad.
We have traveled the globe for decades now ( personally and professionally), and we can honestly say that our stay at Riad Noie d'ivoire was one of our very best experiences. A week later we stayed at a Relais Chateaux in another location in Morocco, and the service and the atmosphere was simply not at the same level as at Noire d'Ivoire. It is truly an exceptionally well managed, unique, boutique hotel. Thank you Rebecca, you and your team gave us a wonderful experience that we will always cherish and gladly recommend!

Room Tip: Not many rooms so choose early. Our room, Chameau was ferric; Zebre looks stunning also.....Check ou...

Absolutely amazing. My wife and I spent 5 days in this Riad and had wonderful time. Extremely friendly and helpful personnel. The best Moroccan food we tried was in fact in the Riad. Spa not to be missed. Rebeca and Afaf were so helpful in giving us any advice we might think of, arranging a wonderful tour to Atlas mountains and to Essaouira on the Atlantic cost, as well as walking tours in Marrakesh itself and answering thousands of questions we had. I would definitely recommend this Riad over Mamounia or other big hotels.

Room Tip: We really liked Elephant Suite

Rebeca, the owner of this Riad, makes this unique hotel in Marrakesch. From the initial greeting and throughout our stay she could not have been more helpful. Everyone is treated the same. Nothing is too much trouble. All her staff have been trained to high standards and are warm and welcoming. The Riad is beautiful and comfortable. Our room was large, very clean and had everything that was required. Breakfast was simple but delicious - fresh fruit, yoghurt and a selection of Morrocan bread. There is a beautiful swimming pool. I would recommend an evening Mojito on the roof terrace as the sun goes down over this noisy and bustling city. The Wi-Fi works well. One amazing detail is that everyone is provided with a mobile telephone with the telephone numbers of key people at the Riad so if you get lost help is close to hand. I would strongly recommend this Riad if visiting Marrakech

The absolute recommendable stay in Marrakesch. The friendliness, the cleanness, the location and the personality makes this place absolutely recommendable. You will be surprised when you are guided through the souks of Marrakech an then the doors open and you enter a real 'palace'. The facility and service is outstanding and Rebecca will take care of you with guest friendliness at its best. I would immediately go there again!!! The location, breakfast and service is outstanding. The perfect location to explore the city also.
