Trip advisor

Riad d'ivoire noir

Rebekka and Damien extend the warmest and friendliest of welcomes to this exclusive boutique-type Riad in the heart of the medina. Real Moroccan life goes on right outside your door.

But behind the door the water feature courtyard, luxury fixtures and fittings and the 'anything you like any time of day' attitude is very welcoming to the westerner and a stark contrast to the busy hustle and bustle of true Moroccan life going on 24-7 just yards away.

If it is your first time to Marrakech, this oasis is ideal as Damien and the rest of the team will help you almost every step of the way from the rent door to the main square el fna.

We were upgraded for free to the Chameleon suite and it was traditional and stylish in a simple and elegant way. The bed was massive and the bash and show room with twin sinks was a nice touch of opulence for a simple Yorkshireman.

The pool area was gorgeous as was the roof terrace and the pool was heated -an unexpected bonus.

I do not usually bother writing on tripadvisor, but bing a classic hypocrite I never book a hotel without reading the comments of others. But this time silence has to be broken.

The customer service was exceptional and the breakfast was heat. I gave it four out of five forks (my own marking system). You could have anything you wanted.

Nice touches included the breakfast at 2pm on the day of checkout. Use of the room until 2pm. The little donkey carrying luggage to the hotel from the taxi. Drop off was an experience ill never forget.

I highly recommend this Riad for the first-timer. You'll not fault it.

Noir d'Ivoire is everything you would expect from a high-end Marrakesh riad. Located on a quiet street in the midst of the bustling Medina, the riad is an oasis of tranquility. Morrocan and Morrish architectural details abound throughout the hotel, and the central courtyard, with its quiet pool and high stucco walls, exudes calm. Step outside and a 3 minute walk has you on a busy medina street, complete with butchers, vegetable stands and merchants hawking their wares. A 20 minute walk will have you in the heart of the souk and all of the chaos and cacaphony that that implies. Fodor's calls Marrakesh "intoxicating" and it truly is - exotic, colorful, chaotic - it really is an amazing place. And Noir d'Ivoire is the perfect place to remove yourself from all of chaos of the city - a quiet place where you can just breath. Rebecca and Damien outdid themselves with their hospitality - they arranged for walking tours (Ahmed is a wonderful guide), made dinner reservations, and looked after us as if we were their private guests. Their personal touch, their attention to detail, and their wonderful staff make this hotel so special. Thank you to all of you for making my 50th birthday, and my dad's 80th so great!

We have just arrived home from a 2 night stay at Riad Noir D 'Ivoire followed by a 1 night stay at Maison Arabe and therefore are in a perfect position to compare the properties.
While both surroundings are beautiful, Riad Noir D'Ivoire is in a league of it's own. A driver was waiting for us at the airport and then Cous Cous the donkey and a charming Riad member if staff escorted us the short way to the Riad. The moment we arrived we were greeted with exceptional warmth and hospitality, immediately serving us with drinks and catering to our every need. Restaurant reservations were made for us as required,a guide was sent with us to initially help us to negotiate the streets maps were drawn and recommendations given . We were even given a pre- programmed mobile in case we needed to contact them at any time.Nothing was too much trouble.
While the Riad was full, we barely saw other guests, there were so many different areas to spend time in. The best way that I can describe it is that it is like living in your own luxury mansion with staff discretely at your beck and call. No-one asks which room you are staying in when you order anything, everyone is so well trained they just 'know'.
Our last night was in Maison Arabe which is a nice luxury hotel, but it doesn't have that personal touch and special something that Riad Noir D'Ivoire has.
If you are looking for a special getaway for a memorable trip to Marrakech, this is the only place to stay.

We have traveled a great deal in 50+ years of marriage. This time, the family had two birthdays to celebrate (50 years, and 80 years), and eight of us (ages 10 - 80 years) converged at this superb Riad. Everything went smoothly and happily. Rebecca, the owner, is the perfect hostess. She helped us with all our planning and made us feel like guests in her home. The staff is extraordinarily friendly, efficient, and eager to make guests feel comfortable. Damien was terrific in helping us plan our days, so that each was filled with memorable moments. Ahmet, who guided us through the medina and souks, is extremely knowledgeable about Moroccan history and culture and we learned a great deal from him. The Riad itself is beautifully appointed and a wonderful, calm place to retreat to after a stimulating day in this fascinating city. The breakfasts were delicious and we could order anything we desired. Because the food was so good we elected to have dinner at the Riad several evenings. Take our advice - - come and enjoy this wonderful spot.

My wife and I stayed at the Riad Noir d'ivoire for three nights last week and had a fabulous time. We have never been to Marrakech before and both Rebeca and Damien looked after us superbly from the word go, helping us to structure our trip so that we made the most out of our stay. All recommendations for lubnch, dinner, excursions etc were excellent, bespoked to exactly what we were after and all exceeded our expectations.

The Riad itself is absolutely stunning and offers the guest a wonderful mix of style, comfort and luxury, a peaceful Oasis in the hubbub of the Medina.

We cannot offer a higher recommendation.

An exceptional property with amazing service and a lovely ambiance. I cant say enough great things about this riad....we were treated like family (not just as guests), the staff goes beyond the call of duty to make sure all of your needs are met (the cook made us chocolate cake upon hearing that we like it so much), the attention to detail in the room decor is quite impressive, the location is perfect ( in the media, walking distance to the souks and Jemaa el-Fnaa square). The place was so comfortable that we honestly preferred to stay in and order from the kitchen, rather than to venture out on certain nights. Best place to stay in the city. Period.

Room Tip: Honestly, all of the rooms are quite lovely. It really depends on the size of your party and the nat...

We had a lovely break in Marrakech but the icing on the cake was staying at the Riad Noir d'Ivoire. From the moment we were met at the airport we were treated to exceptional customer service from everyone in the team.
We were told to treat the Riad like our home. Rebeca and Damian were on hand every day to look after us, sharing their knowledge and offering helpful tips to make sure we had the best possible stay. We stayed in the Elephant room, which is simply beautiful and has the most amazing bath. The food at the Riad is beautiful – especially the breakfasts which were a huge treat. We both enjoyed a fantastic Hammam and massage which was total pampering! Everyone at the Riad was lovely, including the very lucky cats who call this Riad home and Cous Cous the donkey. Thank you all.
If you’re considering where to stay in Marrakech, this is the a slice of Moroccan heaven that we can’t recommend highly enough.
