As a first time visitor to Marrakech, I don't think we could have found a better place to stay. We were definitely right in the heart of it all but once we entered the door of the Noir d'Ivoire, it was like home (OK, a beautiful home). All of the staff members were very warm and we found getting to know them a highlight of the trip. They went out of their way to make sure we knew how to get places and felt safe, from leading us down the narrow streets to arranging for a driver into the mountains to the local loaner cell phone. We were travelling with a child and he also was very comfortable in the riad and loved Couscous the donkey.

How can i describe the experience. The first contact is so unexpected. You step out of the car, walk through the narrow streets of the medina wondering how you could ever find your way back by yourself. You get to a very small door, alice in wonderland here i am. Nothing prepares you for what you will find inside. The beauty of the place, mix of oriental and more contemporary design, the unique pool, the courtesy of the staff, the food, what an experience. We have now been twice at noir d'ivoir, and i cant wait until i can go back. it is not just how beautiful the place is or the service (which is amazing, a combination of the moroccan hospitality and swiss clockwork professionalism). There is more to it. Maybe it is the character of the owner, a crazy but so uniquely sweet, charming and cultivated american, the accent of the italian manager, i dont know. Definitely a place to visit.

We stayed at this amazing Riad for three days in December 2012, and had the best time ever.
The service was impeccable, and the whole team was so warm and friendly.
We would especially like to mention Rebecca. From start to finish; any question we had or whatever we wished for, she helped us out with a professional and yet personal touch.
The Riad itself is so beautiful, with its traditional, romantic décor – and the location inside the Medina is great.
We would recommend this very special place to anyone, and we would definitely like to visit again.

Another old haunt of mine – I have loved it every time I have stayed here. The location is perfect, but it’s from when you wander through the doors the magic begins. This is simply one of the most fabulous hotels in the world. My favourite time was gorging on breakfast pastries or sipping cold wine on the terrace in the afternoons after the shopping frenzy of the Jemaa el Fna.
