“Beautiful Riad A True Oasis”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 10, 2012

Its all been said before if you read the reviews but this is a really amazing place, I would describe this Riad as your own mini Alahmbra the great Moorish palace of Granada. The design and interior are truly stunning, no pictures can really capture the style and essence of the place.
The staff are delightful and are some of the nicest people I have met on my travels, the level of service second to none but still maintaining a cool laid back ambience that lets you feel at home.
Rebecca and Damien at front of house provide all the information you could require to enjoy your time in the Medina form great restaurants and Bars to a full days itinery.
Nothing is too much trouble they really want you to have a great time.
Returning to the Riad after dark is like stepping back several centuries through the narrow streets. You know when you open the door to the Riad there is a warm welcome and drinks by the open fire with a couple of the Riads Cats for company.
Food at the Riad was excellent from the delightful breakfast served on our roof terrace to a romantic meal set up especially in the Library on a chilly December night it was magical.

Marrakech Medina is wonderful try and ignore some of the bad press and embrace the place it can be chaotic, noisy and sometimes alarming but there is a real energy about the place.
If you get lost in the medina keep a few dirahms in your pocket and you will soon find someone to help, always be polite and learn a few french or arabic words and if in doubt always smile its an international langauge but most of all have fun.
I hope the development of Marrakech does not change the place it really is a great place to visit, the people friendly and engaging.
We will return to the Riad without doubt but i also want to discover more about Morroco and the berber people.
Great Riad, Great city, Great people really sad to leave the place which i thought i would never say.

“A paradise in the Medina”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2012

Not only is the Riad beautiful to the eye but the staff are amazing too. I spent a great four nights there relaxing by the fire, having lunches on the beautiful roof terrace and breakfast in bed. Since it was my birthday the management and staff ensured that I had a birthday to remember, I can't thank them enough. I am sure my holiday to Marrakech would not have been as special had we not stayed there, whatever you need and whatever questions you have the staff at the hotel where there to help you and guide you through your holiday.

“Belive the hype.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2012

Believe the hype. This Riad has it all. But more than that, it does what so few hotels in the world get quite right: the balance between attentiveness and just letting you chill. We stayed there for four nights in the first week of December 2012 and there was not a thing that crossed our minds about Marrakech, eating, shopping, touring and so on….that Rebeca, Damian and the incomparable staff hadn’t already thought of and were at the ready to assist us with. Yet at the same time, like mystic mind readers, they knew when you wanted to just relax and soak in the elegant, unforgettable atmosphere that pervades every corner of Noir d’Ivoire. Our two dinners we ate at the Riad were superb, and made all the more memorable by the unique setting which the staff will happily tailor to your desires. Marrakech and the surroundings can afford the trip of a lifetime, but they are also easy to get wrong if it’s your first visit: bad restaurant suggestion, overpriced shop, getting lost, getting fleeced…it’s all very possible. So unless you have arranged it all beforehand, you will be somewhat beholden to the advice and guidance provided by your hotel. In the case of Noir d’Ivoire, you are simply in the very best and most capable hands. Totally reliable, innovative when required, and absolutely, unfailingly hospitable, start of stay to finish. Maybe there is a better small hotel in the world, but I haven’t found it.

“What a great break!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 5, 2012

My first time in Marrakech and in five days we wanted it all... Having researched the market we picked Riad Noir d'Ivoire because it was central in the Medina (we wanted to be in the thick of it), I wanted something also both modern and traditional at the same time. The website is good and conveys the hotel and its spirit well.

The Riad did not disappoint, it was all of the above, but what stood out most of all was the quality of the management and staff at the Hotel. Rebeca and Damien could not have done more to arrange everything so it was perfect: trips to the mountains, guides for the Medina, restaurant bookings - nothing was to great or small for them. The staff overall were extremely helpful - to pay them a great compliment would be to say it was like staying at home. Our room (panthere) was really nicely furnished and immaculately kept.

The rooms are luxurious and have good character, balancing the modern with an authentic Marrakech feel. The hotel room missed a few 'mod cons' a this price, such as thermo valves on the showers and ipod players in the rooms, but this does not detract from the overall experience. It does not offer the range of amenities perhaps of a larger Hotel, but it has greater style and charm being a small boutique establishment.

The Hotel is in the heart of the Medina and is handy for shopping , the Souk, the main square, etc. It does not have the gardens that an out of town has, but we had a nice roof terrace with a hot tub with a view across the city rooftops. It does not have gardens like the Mamounia or hotels outside the old town, but for us out for a long weekend in late November, it was ideal.

GO THERE!

“First class”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 5, 2012 via mobile

We chose this hotel after reading the reviews on trip advisor. I am so glad we did as we have just had a fantastic few days. We were really looked after and were given good advice where to eat and where to visit. Nothing was too much trouble with very friendly staff who would go out of their way to help you. Found the whole experience very stress free and relaxing.
