“Excellent value, friendly and tranquil.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

The riad is perfectly located for everything you could want to visit within the medina. The staff are very warm and attentive, they made us feel as if nothing was too much trouble and there was always a mint tea or fresh juice on the go! The room was tastefully decorated and very calming, we were in the annexe just next door and had access to our own roof terrace - perfect for a sundowner before heading out to eat! We did the cooking lesson which was a lot of fun and the candlelit meal afterwards was a surprise and a delight. Overall, Riad Carina is a pleasure to stay in and if we could give them any more than five stars we would. Definitely one to recommend!

Room Tip: Berber room was excellent value.

Was presently surprised by the Riad Carina. Wonderful location on the outskirt of Medina, making it easier to access whilst being close to the Souks and several Historical sites. Very calm and tranquil environment where the staff are friendly and helpful, we were given tea on our early arrival. Staff were accommodating of us arriving early and leaving the city late. Nice roof terrace although the view is nearly non-existent. Very nice breakfast and attractive rooms.

The Riad is easily accessible by foot or taxi only a short stroll away from the main square. It is perfectly located for visiting the Saadian Tombs, Bahia Palace and El Badi Palace. All of the staff at the Riad were welcoming and attentive to our needs. Breakfast was lovely especially the pancakes. On chilly mornings Siad took care to light the patio heater for our comfort. Our room was located in the annexe next door and we were given our own key. The room was tastefully decorated and a heater was provided for the chilly evenings of February. There was a roof terrace from where we could watch the nest building antics of the storks on the nearby walls of the El Badi palace. We were not put off by the variable steps leading up to the roof but less mobile people may find them challenging. The staff at the Riad advised and helped us to organise trips to Ourika Valley and also to Essaouira. Nothing was too much trouble for any of them. Riad Carina is a delightful centre of calm in a busy city, it provides superb service and excellent value for money.

The Riad Carina is located in a perfect location. The interior was calm and restful and full of character. The staff were so helpful and friendly and the service was superb. The breakfast was really great and the romantic candlelit dinner is an option we would strongly recommend. The food was fabulous. Our room with a small sittingroom area was lovely and the heater, which was necessary in the evening and morning during our stay in February was very efficient. The bathroom was extremely clean as indeed was the whole riad. The roof terrace was lovely especially with the storks nesting on the walls of the Palais el Badi next door. We would recommend this riad to anyone planning a visit to Marrakech and will certainly be telling all our friends and family about it.

Down an alley to a door in the wall was our first introduction to the Riad Carina. We were warmly greeted by a member of staff and Meriem offered us mint tea before showing us to our rooms. The Riad is a cosy, calm and tranquil oasis after the noise and mayhem of Marrakech. Meriem and Said were very attentive hosts providing us with local information and the coffee pot was always ready for us after a days sightseeing. Breakfast was served in the court yard at a time to suit you. Fresh fruit juice, pancakes, fruit, fresh bread and jams and coffee made a lovely start to the day. The rooms are stylishly furnished and we had the luck of having the terrace room with the storks for company. I would highly recommend the Riad Carina if you want excellent personal service, tranquility and calm.

The room was very clean & maid service superb also a very quiet location which we loved. Breakfast as ample with a fair choice, dinner was fantastic we loved the quality of the food. We will be back many thanks .

My friend and I stayed at Riad Carina for 5 nights in February and loved it. The Riad is full of character and its location is perfect: very central but quet. We certainly would not like to be any closer to Jemaa el Fna. Watching from the Riad's roof terrace at storks nesting at the roof tops of the Palais el Badi and listening in the morning to rattle they make with their beaks was a lovely experience. Riad has become our home away from home in Marrakesh which we've found at first a bit overwhelming. Many thanks to Meriam, Said and Zahiva for endless supply of tea and coffee and for making us feel as as if we were guests there rather than clients.
