“A thousand and one reasons to choose Riad Carina!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2013

We arrived in Marrakech and were met at the airport by our arranged transport. He drove us around the medina a bit before taking us to Riad Carina.

As others have mentioned the Riad is located down sort of a dark back street. It is very easy to find, and the location is fabulous. We were within walking distance to many sites (Djemma al Fna, Bahia, and El Badia Palaces, etc). The location was safe even though slightly off the beaten path.

The Riad isn't extravagant, but is still elegant and reflects traditional moroccan charm. The room was very clean, the bed although slightly harder than we were used to was comfortable. The in suite bathroom was up to western standards, the only complaint I could even consider is the hot water didn't last long enough for an extremely long shower (but was more than sufficient...I just like to take long showers :).

The food is great. The breakfasts although not varying much were enjoyable. The fresh orange juice was delicious, and the mint tea also warmed you up (we visited in december so it was a little cool). We decided to have the Riad cook our meal for New Years Eve. We were extremely pleased with the food (4-5 traditional appetizers, a lamb tanjine with couscous, and a poached pear as desert) and would agree it was one of our best meals while in Morocco. I believe wine was included in the price of 19 Euros per person for the meal. This was by far our most expensive meal while in Morocco, and seemed even more so as we don't drink alcohol. I definitely don't regret dining in the Riad though at all!

The service is fantastic. The staff are warm and friendly and will do whatever necessary to help you. Sayid even went and picked up train tickets for us prior to a day trip to Casablanca. Also they are always willing to point you in the right direction, help you grab a taxi (I'd just recommend overall using the meter in the taxi while in the city), or assist in any other way.

There are many more great things we could say about our stay. When we come back to Morocco I expect we'll be staying here again. There are a thousand and one more reasons why Riad Carina is one of the top Riad's in Marrakech.

Thanks to the staff that made our Moroccan adventure even more magical!

Stayed for a week at Riad Carina. Felt like home away from home. The staff really made me, as a solo traveller, feel welcomed. Especially Said who is working at night shift, who was always so friendly and kind to me. On the day of my departure he brought me gifts of Moroccan instrumental music cd and a keychain with traditional motif. I thought that was a very nice personal touch.

The room is nice and clean. I was there during the winter. My room got air condition that could serve as heater as well. So it was really nice and comfy during the night when the temp outside could be quite chilly.

The location of the hotel is good. 10-15 minutes from the main square. Closed to some of the main attractions; Bahia palace, Badi palace and Saadian tombs. The area feels generally less touristic that other areas in the medina.

I can definitely think of staying at the Riad again next time I come back to Marrakech.

Excellent location and service!

I recommend the cooking lessons that they offer, it's really interesting and might give you a new insight on moroccan food.

Also, they were willing to arrange for us a really cool and SAFE tourist guide and was amazing!

I really enjoyed the time spent in this Riad during my trip to Marrakech.

fantastic Riad, nice and kind staff. They really made our stay nice.
We had some nice hours on the roof terrace with the storcks on the wall. And a real great room . like a suite more or less!
Bring a warm pyjamas during wintertime! It´s cold in the evenings and nights.
It´s location was good aswell, close to the Fna-squere and easy to find everything in the neighbourhood.

My mum has always wanted to visit Marrakech and as we don't get to spend much time together I surprised her with a girl's trip there for her birthday present. I chose Riad Carina as it was in the Medina and I was advised to choose a riad over a hotel as the experience is more authentic and personal. They were not wrong.

Riad Carina was beautiful. You walk through the door to a lovely, peaceful courtyard where breakfast is served daily. The rooms are comfortable and provided everything we needed. We were on the top floor and our door opened onto a roof terrace where you could relax in the sun on the loungers if the weather permitted.

The staff at the Riad were wonderful. They were welcoming and helpful. The weather was a little chilly when we went and they provided an endless supply of delicious mint tea. We had dinner there one night which was the best meal we had in Marrakech- our one regret was that we didn't have more dinners there.

We met others at the Riad who had been before- everyone was very welcoming and friendly. I would most certainly stay there again and would highly recommend it.

this Riad is a wonderful traditional Riad, we loved the whole experience. The rooms are spacious, the staff kind and attentive. They prepared us a wonderful meal on our first evening beautifully preparedon the roof top terrace. It was beautiful. It is situated perfectly for a 10 minute walk to the square and markets, a busy place, but wonderfully calm and quiet once you are inside the Riad. They arranged a superb guide for us, and organised taxis, with an agreed price before we went, it made our trip perfect.

We booked the entire proporty for 4 days to celebrate our 40 birthday with friends. The staff made it a great experience and organised a delicious candellight birthday dinner wih great food and ambience. Riad Carina is a very cosy place with a spectacular inner courtyard + roof terrace with a handfull of storck nests close by for great views. We can truely recommend the place.

Room Tip: The upstairs rooms are very beautifull
