We booked Riad Carina through Citrus Holidays (not recommended). We stayed in the Riad for seven nights. Good points: very helpful staff, located in the Medina and very convenient for Jemaa el Fnaa, souks, the Kasbah etc. The two evening meals we had in the Riad were the best food we ate in Marrakech. Roof terrace & cosy sitting areas for relaxation.
Not so good: We stayed in the annexe; the room was small, with a bed & small shower & toilet area (no door separating toilet from bedroom area). It had the advantage of being very private since we were the only people in the annexe for most of the time, but judging by other reviews, the bedrooms in the Riad itself sound much superior.
Nevertheless, we would recommend this Riad for the friendly, hospitable staff & the services they offer, as well as for its location.

After a quick pre booked airport taxi journey and a short walk, lead by our jovial driver, through the hustle and bustle that is Marrakech, and up a narrow alley to a unmarked carved wooden door we were warmly greeted by a smiling young lady who welcomed us into the most beautiful open to the sky courtyard where a table had been set for us to take tea. Other staff served us and helped fill in the registration forms as we lounged on huge cushions surrounded by trees and plants, birds, Morrocan artifacts, trickling water features and soft Morrocan music.
We had been booked into the two bedroom roomed self contained "baby" Riad a few yards along the alley which mirrored the main building but on an intimate scale. This was perfect as the four of us felt we had our own private Morrocan villa as well as the main Riad which also had a roof top sun terrace with tented dining area and a large colony of nesting storks, who reside really close by on the walls of Badi Palace.
How wonderful after tiring days sightseeing in the city, bartering in the Souks or taking in the ancient cobbled streets, busy fishing harbour and sea side on our day excursion to Esaouira, to return to the tranquil comfort and constant welcome from the brilliant staff,who soon became our friends, guides and teachers.
Meriam took us to the local market to choose a live chicken, picked that day veg and authentic Morrocan spices which we prepared and cooked under her expert tuition and later ate under the stars on the roof terrace.
We also visitted one of the sister hotels, Riad Dianna, likewise very beautiful and serene, for a black soap scrub followed by a massage in their Hammam.

These people go the extra mile which makes staying with them a joy, they keep their prices low which makes the most exciting and enjoyble experiences affordable and have thought of and planned for all their guests needs which makes visitting Marrakech so much easier than going it alone.
We would never even consider staying anywhere else in Marrakech.

We (five girls) stayed at the Riad Caria in September 2012 for three nights, booking through www.hipmarrakech.com. Everything about our stay at the Riad was perfect. Clean, authentic moroccan interiors, and easy to find our way back from Jemaa el Fna. But it was definitely the staff that made our stay extra special, they really went above and beyond for us. Helpful and friendly at all times, and spoke very good english. The Riad's taxi drivers were excellent too, we had a good laugh with them, very reasonably priced. They drove us to and from the airport, and also to get to the Gardens Majorelle and a fantastic italian restaurant 'La Trattoria de Giancarlo'. Breakfast and coffee at the Riad Carina were really good, the three course evening meal was delicious, and SO cheap at €19. Beautiful flowery rooftop terrace, all for just over £30 a night each. Perfect place to come back and chill after a day in the busy city. So glad we chose to stay in the Medina as opposed to the newer areas of the city. Would recommend this to anyone considering a trip to Marrakech. Nothing to moan about at all!

We stayed at the Riad Carina for 4 nights in September, which we booked through the excellent Citrus Travel. Our expectations were not particularly high as we got a very cheap deal, but we were pleasantly surprised by the high standards and the incredibly helpful staff at the Riad. Meriem, Zuhina and Said greeted us everyday with smiles and were able to cater to our every need (literally, they went and got us pizza after a full day out!) and their food and service were outstanding. We are used to eating at a fairly high standard when we travel and reports from friends about food in Marrakesh made us slightly wary, however the meal at the Riad (19 euros for 3 courses), was genuinely delicious and authentically Morrocan. The staffed organised every trip we wanted at a good price and we felt incredibly safe during our stay. The rooms were very clean, traditionally Moroccan and to a good standard. I travelled with my husband and in-laws and we were given the Riad next to the main building - this was an added bonus as we had a large living space and courtyard to ourselves but still able to use all of the facilities at the main Riad. No request was a problem, Said even took us to another Riad for a Hamman so we wouldn't get lost (again). Marrakesh is a wonderful city, if not a little challenging at times and the Riad Carina was an oasis. Without Meriem, Zuhina and Said i think our trip would have been a very different experience - having listened to other Brits on the plane on the return journey, i realise how easy our trip was thanks to them. All in all we couldn't recommend Riad Carina enough, the location is ideal, the food, decor and ambience perfect and the staff phenomenal.
