“Friendly staff... poor breakfast”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2009

We arrived late and were greeted by friendly happy staff who showed me and my friend to out big spacious room. this room could have kept four or five guest. The wardrobes were huge so we felt like we were at home as we didnt live out of the suitcase. The showers and bathrooms were good. However the view from our window was poor but im guessing there are better views. The hotel was quite due to the time of year we went but the pool seemed not in use. We enjoyed the food for the first couple of nights but it rapidly god worse with the same old salad with tasteless rice and bread kept making the bulk of our dishes. The only highlight was the look on all the guests faces when the waiter put yogurt in its plasic pot in front of them...hillarious!!!

I wouldnt recommend this hotel unless you just want a bed for the night

we didnt get a choice with this hotel as it was the starting and ending hotel for a trip we booked to trek up Mount Toubkal.

The first time we stayed was fine, a bit off the beaten track, but 25-35 dirhams for a taxi down to the medina (which can easily be hailed on the street) or a 30 minute walk was fine. Getting up early the next day, so not a late night, and as we were knackered, didnt really hear the loud music from the lounge/bar.

Staying here after the trek was a different story. 14 of us on the trip, all hit the tables at the poolside (i personally wouldnt recommend going in for a dip, think the pool is just for show.....) once we had come back up from the median after dinner. Started off well enough, got our first beers of the week, couple of bottles of wine, all was good. Started to notice that the other people by the pool were predominately moroccan men drinking lots of beer, then gradually the odd girl would appear, and join the men at their tables. come about 11pm, the hotel were refusing to sell us any more beer and wine, AND we werent allowed to go into the adjoining lounge to get any more which we still cant work out if it was part of the hotel or not. However, the moroccans were still free to order as much as they like, when they liked. Became very obvious very quickly that they no longer wanted us drinking, and they wanted the tables we were at for the moroccan men...and the occassional girls..............

Plus points - clean modern hotel reasonable value for money.
Close to ACIMA supermarket for essentials. (within walking distance)
Staff very friendly and welcoming.

Negatives - NOISY DISCO PLAYS UNTIL THE EARLY HOURS, TAKE YOUR EAR PLUGS!
A little off the beaten track, it is at the top end of Rue Mansour Eddahbi. Bit of a trek to the Djemma. Couldnt find public transport easily. Street can be a little intimidating after dark.

Meh. Our contact initially suggested this hotel but then booked us elsewhere. I read up on HIcham and the alternative on trip advisor and asked to be put back in Hicham (well, not really, but I asked why the change and mentioned the bad reviews of the other hotel and asked her opinion on which was better and the contact just booked me back at Hicham). So really, I made my own bed on this one. It was a fine hotel but really noisy. The lounge had singers two nights in a row that we could hear in our second floor room well into the night. We could also hear everything in other rooms around us. It is, however, well situated in the new town and close to some restaurants. I wouldn’t stay there again but it was not that bad and the front desk staff was quite helpful.

Unfortunately the only positive thing I can say is that the rooms are clean. It is a noisy hotel (hotel bar/club is playing loudspeaker music till 3am), there was no hot water and the sliding doors of the balcony did not close properly. No possibility of switching off the bathroom lights separately and there are no extra blankets (so make sure to have that extra layer in winter time). The staff seem very bored and not very helpful. To summarize, stay there only if you have no other option.

The hotel "Hicham" was really the worst hotel we had during our trip to Morocco.
It was extremely loud... I really couldn't sleep well. We had a room in the 4th floor, the music came from the ground floor, there was some kind of disco every night. Just horrible, if you are tired from the day...
Also the location was not the best. The hotel is situated in the new part of Marrakech outside the Medina and it's about 25-30 minutes walk to Djemaa El Fna - Place. And you have to walk along the busy street Mohammed V. with a lot of smog and noise.
The room itself was big and also comfortable, but with a lot of defects in the construction, e.g. the window was out of order, if you opened the door you had the doorknob in your hands...
We had to ask several times for towels.
The stuff was friendly, but nothing special to mention, esp. we had a lot of other places were the stuff was REALLY friendly and courteous.
The breakfast was average...
Well, I really would not recommend to stay in this hotel. And I am sure not to stay there again in the future.

Excellent value for money. Rooms very clean and comfortable, fresh towels daily and crisp clean bed linen. Breakfast adequate but basic. Only downside was extremely loud music every night until midnight. The Club was really for local people rather than tourists. Good situation only 25 minutes walk from the square and Marjorelle gardens. Recommend open top bus tour as early as possible to get your bearings. Staff polite but not alot of English spoken - mainly French. Various agents for trips can be found along Mohammed V Street and these offer competitive prices.
