Riad Sable Chaud is a perfect gem of a small hotel in the Marrakech medina and Francoise and her wonderful staff make a few days in this riad seem all too short an experience.
Every room is individually and elegantly decorated, and lovely French bed linens, towels and sweet smelling toiletries add to the pleasure. The whole house is so clean, fresh and comfortable, There’s a glorious sunny terrace for a lazy breakfast, a peaceful central courtyard and large indoor dining area with deep sofas, TV and a cozy fireplace for cooler evenings.
The food deserves a special mention…apart from the generous and very healthy breakfast, dinner is an experience not to be missed. Fatima, the chef, has honed her skills at one of the best restaurants in the city and every meal is amazingly good. Or you might be treated to a Tanjia specially prepared by Younes in the traditional fashion.
Access is easy and you can be sure of being met at the airport and guided safely to the riad when you arrive. Learning the route through the winding passageways of the medina is part of the fun.
I travel to Marrakech once or twice each year and I’ve stayed in a wide range of hotels, I believe that Riad Sable Chaud represents the best value for money that can be found. I’ve stayed there three times so far and intend to return as soon as I possibly can.
