“Coolest riad in Marrakech!!!!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2009

I recently stayed here for a few nights and found it to be a delightful and very friendly place with attentive and extremely helpful owner and staff. It's a peaceful place tucked a short distance away from the main square. It has a cosy family feel about it and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. The breakfasts on the roof on the sofa which we claimed every morning was one of the highlights.....in the middle of winter! And the evening meal which was a feast, was the best we had in our entire stay there. We were full up after the platefuls of starters, not realizing that tagine was next!
Its a very cool place with an excellent tatse in music and i can highly recommend staying here. Many thanks to you all and hope to see you again!!!!!

from the beginning until we had to leave we felt really welcome. the staff is honest, helpful and hearty. the service is great and the whole riad is arranged and decorated with a good taste from the owner, done affectionately. it was not our first time in morocco and we already ate many couscous there, but the best we've ever eaten was in dar najat. you have to order a couscous royal there!
there is also enough space to chill out, relax on the terrace or on the new built superior floor, with sunbeds and cosy moroccan styled lounge.
your're in the middle of marrakech, easy to find the jamaa el fna by your own, but if you need any help ask the staff and they'll help you anytime.
so there is really nothing bad to say about the dar najat and it certainly wasn't our last stay there... http://www.dar-najat.com

The Riad Dar Najat was a wonderful, friendly oasis in the middle of the chaotic, vibrant city of Marrakech. All the staff were friendly and welcoming and could not do enough for you. Abdul was a great tour guide and took great care that you enjoyed your trips. Oliver was a great host and made you feel very welcome. The food was delicious. All the staff made sure you were enjoying your stay.

Service:
Excellent, very friendly and familiarly

Kitchen:
Excellent traditional cuisine, specially tagine and couscous. The Breakfast too.

Rooms:
Every room is individually designed with a good taste for traditionalism.

Location:
Wonderful restored old traditional Moroccan house with a spectacular patio and roof garden, whirlpool included.

In the week we spend our holidays in the Riad, we learned a lot of the culture and traditions of Marrakech with the gently team of the house. Their organized individual trips for sightseeing and shopping in the Medina, the Souk and the new Town for a few Dirhams.

This riad was the friendliest one we stayed at of all five riads/hotels in Morocco over a 2-week trip. Oliver and the staff, Amin and Said, were extremely helpful, taking us places in the medina, recommending restaurants, and offering advice. The breakfast was the best we had, with fresh orange juice, coffee, chocolate croissants, crepes, and omelettes. We ate there one night for dinner and it was excellent, with generous servings. The eating area was pretty and intimate and there is a rooftop seating area also.
The room was small but adequate. The bathroom was small too, but there was a shower curtain so water didn't go all over the floor as in some other places we stayed.
The location was about an 8-minute walk from the Djemma el-Fna square, but close to some sights like the Dar Si Said. It was a little tricky to find, and like most riads it was down a small mostly deserted alley way with high walls made of clay. But then you stepped through the doorway and were re-assured that you had made a good choice as you entered the atrtractive downstairs seating area.
We made some arrangments through the riad, for a one-day outing with a private car and also for a taxi to pick up friends. These were more expensive than they should have been, so it would be better to compare prices from other sources before making these arrangements through the riad.
The big plus for Dar Najat was the helpfulness of the staff. They even gave us a mobile phone to use while we were there. This was by far the best service of any other place we stayed.

Great location, friendly and welcoming staff who genuinely want you to have a great time in Marrackech. They went out of their way to make sure we were happy and having a great time. Location is great and its close to the main square. The rooms were great, very comfortable and spacious. The roof terrace was absolutly amazing, we spent most of our time there just realzing and enjoying the sun. We look fowards to seeing the place and the staff again next year.
