“As Oliver says, "It's your home"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2014

There is not much to add to the other positive reviews, but I want to point out a few things that were really impressive:

1. Even before we arrived, I had a lot of correspondence with Olli about transport and even things to do in Morocco. Olli was particularly honest about what he thought we should do and, in retrospect, was absolutely right about his advice (even though we went a different way given we had been sick).

2. So, we got sick coming into Marrakech - a Paris flu, I think, as it hit us on the plane - and we were really sick. We could hardly move for five or six days. We got up in the afternoon and they would make us breakfast, they offered to call doctors and nurses and whatever else we needed, and they would even bring us down water to make sure we were going ok. The most impressive act was when we asked, out of interest, whether they had any Sprite - they didn't - and they went and ran to the store and got us some (if you feel like you're reading this twice, my girlfriend's review is below). That is going above and beyond.

3. Little things like walking you to the market for the first time is fantastic. It can be a bit daunting otherwise.

4. We really liked the location - it was very close to everything, but far enough away that you were out of the hustle and bustle. Perfect.

5. We did feel like we were at home. They must have hundreds of guests through their each month but, although admittedly we probably ended up staying longer than most, we felt like we were their only guests and they truly did care. Having spoken to Olli I know that is the approach he takes and it is worth staying there just for the approach of Olli and his lovely staff.

We had a truly fantastic few days in Marrakech and a lot of that was down to our stay at Dar Najat. Oliver and the team were extremely friendly and welcoming, and seemed to really enjoy looking after their guests. The dinners we ate there were delicious, relatively good value and also enormous portions - we felt guilty leaving any behind! The Riad location is excellent, only a short walk to Jemaa El Fna, and the initial orientation we were given meant that there was no chance of getting lost. The Riad itself has a lovely relaxing atmosphere, and we enjoyed hanging out on the roof terrace even though it was January so a little cool in the evenings. All in all, we absolutely loved our stay at Dar Najat and wouldn't hesitate to return or recommend it to others.

I cant add any more to all the very positive reviews already listed but must give a big shout out to all the staff at Dar Najat, Oliver, Mido, Sakina, Yassine and Said.
If you have dinner at Dar Najat you wont be disappointed. Make sure you are hungry if you have the cous cous and go easy on the bread and starters!!
Sakina is without doubt the Queen of Cuisine, be sure to try her aubergine...fantastic ! She gave me the recipe but doesn't quite taste the same at home so I will have to come back!
Good luck Sakina with your dream of your own restaurant.
Thanks to Yassine for getting us familiar with the route to the square, taking us to the spa, sorting out our day trip to the Ourika Valley and the great lamb tangier in the Souk, very tasty and only 60 dirhams, next time I may have the sheeps head with the eyes yum !
I could add more but most of that has already been said by others.
Thank you Oliver you have a great team, we hope to be back sometime soon.
Regards Michael and Johanna

There probably isn't much more we can add to the well deserved excellent reviews already listed here, except to say that for once you can believe what they say! We had a fantastic few days here over the new year and are already planning our return trip. The riad is beautiful, in a great central location but felt very safe and peaceful, and the food is fantastic - the kitchen created vegetarian meals two nights in a row for the three of us and we looked forward to our breakfast every morning. But as others have stated it's the staff that really make this place very special, creating a wonderful relaxing atmosphere where nothing is too much trouble and you're treated as friends from the minute you set foot through the door. Thank you so much to Oliver and all the great staff at Dar Najat, we look forward to visiting you again soon.

We returned to Dar Najat after a brief stay earlier this year. Upon arrival we were greeted like old friends and it really did feel like a home from home. All the staff are extremely cool people and nothing is too much trouble for them. We had a meal there on our first night and it was delicious, real Moroccan cuisine. Oliver and his team have created something truly special and very relaxing in the heart of what can be a pretty intense city.
Everything we asked for was taken care of including transit to the airport, even though, at the last minute, the king of Morocco decided to visit his cousin round the corner and had all the roads blocked, Oliver stepped in and somehow arranged for a car and we made our flight (thank you!)
The riad itself is a beautiful place, every corner is exquisitely decorated and the rooftop terrace is a great place to relax. It's a brilliant place to stay with brilliant people and I wish I could give them more than a 5.

At first, in the Riad are working very nice people! They create a warm atmosphere whereby one immediately get the feeling of being welcome. Due to the small Riad, you get the feeling that you are part of the family. The employees of the Riad create a feeling that everything that you as a guest ask or whishes is possible. The Riad is clean and in a traditional Maroccan atmosphere. The food is made with passion and you really taste that.

Just returned from a 4 day trip to Marrakech and can't recommend this riad highly enough. Geniune, warm, friendly and very helpful staff. Upon arrival I received a briefing on what to do/where to go etc in Marrakech, followed by being brought to the main square (Jemaa El Fna) - a short distance away - through a couple of charming streets. The staff were only too happy to arrange anything I needed - taxi/excursion/Hammam (Turkish bath & massage). Not only arranged, but took me to and collected me from the Hammam - all for no charge.
Room/building/terrace - all beautifully decorated in traditional Moroccon style. Food was another great positive - delicious and LARGE portions!
Truely enjoyed spending time with these people in a fabulous location.
To the ladies & gents of Dar Najat - hats off to you all - thanks for a great holiday!
