“Excellent stay in Marrakech”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2013

We chose to stay at this riad because of the reviews on Trip Advisor, and we didn't regret. It is a very good place to stay, extremely close to the Medina of Marrakech, and very easy to find. The treatment you get there is excellent. Since the reservation until the check out we didn't have a single problem.

The room is spacious (we took the standard double), comfortable and is cleaned everyday. They have free wifi internet which works good from inside the room.

The best point of all for this riad are two guys named Yassin (who stays at night) and Moncef (who stays during the day). Extremely humble, but at the same time extremely polite and helpful, they will make whatever is necessary to make you feel as you were home. A truly example of the moroccan hospitality. Once again: THANK YOU Yassin and Moncef for everything you've done for us! You deserve the best!

Hanane, the chef is also an excelent employee and cooked us excellent food when we needed.

This riad is an excellent choice!

A great place in a quiet location a minuet or so from the hurly burly.
Not much difference between the rooms so go for the least expensive. Some dust in rooms - my partner is very fussy! Otherwise a great place to say - they serve wine (being a Muslim country, not all restaurants and hotels do). We felt the place was stripped down simple nothing extra, but it does have location location location. Wheels on suitcases is essential from the taxi to the Bougainvillea is a long walk unless they send a wheel barrel and man to help one, we weren't so lucky.

Room Tip: Not that much difference between the quality of the rooms so go on price.

Tranquil Riad in the old Medina of Marrakech. You can't drive to it; be prepared to have your luggage wheeled through the medina in a barrow. Nice points: free transfer from airport, the riad is very pretty, the 3 course meal was simple but tasty, room and bathroom spacious, the manager was polite & helpful, hammam inexpensive (though we could have done with pointers on what ritual to follow!). Points for improvement: the rooms have no locks (once you're used to this it is not such a big deal, as there are safes and the front door is locked), it was cold in the dining room each evening, the maids were lovely, but they made a LOT of clattering and chattering in the kitchen after meals which tended to echo round the courtyard. Permanent issues: we found the medina really unpleasant in terms of aggressive shop owners and intimidating crowds of locals. This included the streets we had to walk through to get to and from the riad. Despite being told it was safe we felt quite frightened when out after dark ~8pm for dinner. We would not choose to go back to old Marrakech, but if we had to we would probably stay here again for the quality of rooms, food and service.

Booked this riad based on tripadvisor recommendations and very happy I did.
The location is perfect just 5 mins walk from the square yet absolutely dead quiet as soon as you step into the little road.
Staff was adorable from the first minute until we left and helped with restaurant reservations, taxis etc. Room was spacious, a little ageing but still very enjoyable.
Food was tasty at the simple breakfast and the overall experience just what we needed for the couple of nights spent in the city. Definitely recommended!!

We stayed only three nights but were very impressed by the friendly and courteous service provided by all the staff. Nothing was too much trouble. A little bit of paradise in all the hustle and bustle of the city streets. Thank you.

Riad Bougainvilliers is a haven of peace and tranquility amidst the chaos that is Marrakech. a mere 5 minute stroll from the main square. The staff are delightfully welcoming and helpful, fixing everything from a request for a bigger hairdryer to a days outing to Essaouira, the fishing town 175 miles away.
As well as beautiful rooms and extremley welcome sun terrace, the Cook here also offers dinners on request. Her food is local, traditional - delicious!
You leave here refreshed and relaxed as the mad bustle of the city is so near - but the riad is perfectly quiet and calm. Ideal!

I found this riad through tripadvisor (thanks everyone) and have been blown away.

Pre travel communications were fantastic and we chose to have two rooms and food on the first night and transfers.

The transfer was very efficient although on arriving we were a bit concerned that they were taking us down a dark alleyway. Everything was fine though.

The riad staff had big smiles throughout and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were amazing. Mine was a suite with a little balcony.

The riad is perfectly positioned off an old street so very close to the main square and the south side too. We booked a camel ride through them which was great fun.

The food on the first night was tasty and the breakfasts (continental with warm bread and pancakes) was great.

Overall I literally don't have anything negative to say. Great people. Perfect location. Fantastic rooms. One of the best places I've stayed in..

Thank you for a great stay :)
