We spent a week at the Riad les Bougainvilliers in April of this year. The hotel was a wonderful oasis of calm in Marrakesch. The staff was very friendly and helpful; they arranged a very interesting excursions and took care that all went well, for example walking us to the taxi or having the driver come to the Riad. Also they arranged for a pleasant Hammam experience. The staff spoke both French and English fluently, and were always happy for a chat. The rooms are large and have everything that you need, and, like the hotel as a whole, are very pleasantly and tastefully decorated. The two comfortable courtyards are small, but quite brightly lit and separated by a pleasant commons room. The pool is large enough to cool off in, but not appropriate for swimming. Also there is a terrace on the roof with a view over the city and, when the weather is right, a view of the Atlas mountains.
The dinners were were the best we had in Marrakesch; the spices were just right and the meat tender. The soup or salad for the starter, main course and dessert were perfect and very reasonably priced.
We recommend the Riad les Bougainvilliers to those that appreciate a small, quiet, pleasant hotel with a very friendly staff.

We went as a family in February 2012 and had two of the ground floor rooms, they were amazing, the whole Riad was absolutely spotless and beautiful, the roof terrace was fabulous and the staff were charming, they could not do enough to help, they were absolutely lovely. We felt it was a real retreat from the sightseeing of Marrakech and an oasis of calm and peace. We had a meal twice at the Riad and it was superb. I can't rate this highly enough and I have travelled a lot. I would definately go back to Morrocco and would most definately stay in this Riad. The location is spot on for the sights of Marrakech

Riad les Bouganvilliers is a delightful small hotel close to the centre of the city, very well placed yet serene and tranquil and away from the bustle of the souks and the central square. There is a lovely roof terrace where we enjoyed sunbathing in December, and the Moroccan architecture and style of the house is beautiful. It is managed by two young Moroccan men who speak perfect English and who are extremely helpful and knowledgeable about their city. They arrange taxis to and from the airport. This was for us a perfect place to stay in a vibrant and exciting city. Strongly recommended.

If you have ever been to Marrakech then you know walking the medina and the souks with the two way traffic of donkey carts, mopeds, bicycles, native pedestrians and other slightly bewildered tourists all traversing a very confined can feel as if you are taking your life in your hands. Total sensory overload! So, being able to return to the oasis of calm that is the Riad Les Bouganvilliers is truly wonderful.

The raid is very conveniently located (less than a five minute walk from the main square) within the medina. The staff couldn't be more helpful. They normally serve breakfast and an evening meal on request. We opted to eat in on our first night and throughly enjoyed a lamb tagine. On our last day we asked if it would be possible to have a light lunch before our return flight. No problem...We were served a delicious vegetable salad, a chicken tagine and a pomagranant dessert...delicious, authentic and VERY reasonably priced.

One of the things that I really enjoyed was the sense that the staff working here seemed to enjoy their jobs and each other. This translated into a calm, friendly, warm and relaxed atmosphere.
