“An Oasis of Tranquility”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2013

After navigating your way through the warren of alleyways to reach the Riad, you will be more than pleasantly surprised when you enter. The courtyard with its sunken pool and the total calmness that awaits you, disturbed only by bird song, relaxes you in an instant. The staff are superb, nothing is too much trouble despite having to communicate in virtual sign language due to my lack of French ability. The rooms are as they appear in the pictures, authentic Moroccan, welcoming and clean. You may wish to opt for a massage and relax further on the roof terrace with a glass of wine in hand whilst the madness of Marrakech carries on around you. I highly recommend this beautiful Riad,

Room Tip: As breakfast is served in the courtyard, I would recommend a first floor room

The taxi driver booked through the Riad waited for one hour at the airport (our flight wad delayed) and welcomed us with a bunch of roses. The Riad is a beautiful building clean and well maintained in the Kasbah district close to the Saadian Tombs. The room was impressive, spacy and had a huge bath tub. We were served a delicious breakfast. Since it was my 50th birthday the Riad invited the two of us for dinner which was served on the terrace. It was high quality delicious typical food accompanied by a bottle of red wine. We hardly heard the other hotel guests and had a relaxing stay and would definitely recommend this Riad.Thank you to Khadija and your team!

Room Tip: go for the Venus Suite if you are looking for a romantic getaway

As soon as we walked into this beautiful riad from the madness of the streets in Marrakech we couldn't believe how instantly the atmosphere changed from chaotic to totally peaceful.
The place is spotless and beautifully decorated and furnished in the traditional Moroccan style.

Our room was on the ground floor and was very nice but then we were upgraded on our last night to a suite on the 1st floor which was fabulous.

The staff are lovely, some do speak limited English though so a few words of French are useful. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Breakfast didn't seem to have a set time so it didn't matter if you got up early or late. We generally slept until late as the rooms were so dark at night.

Beers were cheaper in the riad than anywhere we found that sold them elsewhere (220 dirhams as opposed to 600). There are only a few places selling alcohol in the medina so its a good idea to buy some on the plane, especially as a lot of the rooms have a fridge.

We were told a couple of days before we left that we would need to pay our bill in cash but we were given plenty of notice about it and paid on our last night.
On our last day there was a bit of a mix up with our transfer to the airport but the staff sorted it out very quickly and the riad owner gave us a lift there straight away.

We had a hammam session there which left our skin lovely and smooth, and the plunge pool was very refreshing. Unfortunately the hot tub was out of action, not sure why but it might be worth checking if this is important to you.

Overall we found this a very relaxing and good value stay and would certainly return here.

Room Tip: First floor rooms are quieter but ground floor are cheaper

The atmosphere was perfect from the first to the last minute. Caring staff, a beautiful room and a stunning evening meal on our second night. We only stayed for 2 nights, but found the riad elegant, comfortable and welcoming, with a delightful terrace for sunbathing. Really couldn't have asked for more. We loved the personal touch and the excellent cooking.

Room Tip: All the suites seem magnificent, go with a four-poster!

This is not a hotel. It's a warm welcome waiting for you to enjoy. Riad el Noujoum is just fabulous and its staff (especially Ali) are so friendly and helpful. We were made to feel so welcome and nothing was too much trouble. It was like staying in a 5-star hotel with that elusive small-cosy homely feel. Simply stay here!

Breakfast could have had some fruit with it. Having said that, I'm sure that if we had asked, it would have been added, but we just were so impressed by everything else that we simply bought a melon from the market ourselves on our second day.

They arranged airport transfers for us, and were available at 01:00 when we arrived to check in and at 04:30 when it was time to leave. That's dedication.

Rooms are perfectly quiet and have blackout shutters, so you can make them pitch dark. Beds are very comfortable and everything is immaculately clean. Even though there's a nearby mosque, you can't hear a call to prayer in the morning from inside your room.

Room Tip: Really they're all good. We liked ours upstairs rather than right by the pool and tables that ot...

This was our first trip to Marrakech and staying in a traditional riad was important to us. The staff were really friendly and made us feel very welcome. Some of the staff have limited English so packing a French phrase book was helpful so we could both understand each other!

This is a real oasis of calm in Marrakech after wandering around the hustle and bustle of the souks all day. Location wise this is very convenient, a couple of minutes from the Saudi Tombs only 10 minutes from Jemma El-Fna.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for a week having booked over the Internet through a Moroccan booking site so got a great price.

The riad is amazing and we cannot fault it in anyway!! The staff were spot on and the night man was always prepared to help. The manager was also really great. The food was wonderful morning and the one night we had tea there.

The room was wonderful and the shower area was a dream. The pool area was tranquil and the roof top terrace was clean and tidy and we often had breakfast there.

This was our first holiday together and in Marrakech and this was riad was perfect. Hustle and bustle outside - total tranquility on the inside.

Miss this at your peril!!
