“Perfect in every way!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2011

As regular travellers we dont compliment people and places as often as we should, however we feel compelled to write a review for this magnificent Riad. Now a riad as apposed to a hotel is a very different thing, in a hotel its just that a hotel, in a riad, or certainly our experience of this one, is an oasis, a home from home, its just like visiting with friends. In essence, its how all accomodation should be.

The initial booking process with the super helpful and prompt communication from Anna and Aiden was faultless and really helped us feel safe and secure about arriving in an unfamiliar city. We were as promised met at the arrivals hall by our driver complete with little sign with our names on it, he then showed us to the cash machine (you cant take Dirhams into the country), he then took us on a very interesting journey into the riad, which is situated deep in the Medina. We were taken down to the riad along well lit passageways and met at the door by Mohsine (never a nicer more gracious man have we met) and shown into the main area, offered refreshments and left to settle. I really dont want to write this as a blow by blow account of our trip, however every detail of our stay was so perfect that I almost feel I have to.

We were shown our fabulous room, complete with gold snake head tap and wrought iron bed. Dinner was then served by the ever present Saida and we knew we had made the right choice, the food was magnificent, as was everything we ate during our stay.

Nothing was to much trouble for any of the staff, Aiden the manager was superb, attentitive and unobtrusive, be it organising a guide for the souks or recommending a restaraunt. We hardly saw any of the other guest however when we did they were like minded travellers who were enjoying themselves as we were.

The location of the riad is a 10-15 min stroll from the main square, either down a main street or the more adventurous way via the souks, ideal to go out for the day or a bite to eat.

One night we really did feel like we were at home, we had, had a day of exploring had come back enjoyed some time on the beautiful and peaceful roof terrace, came down stairs, got a bottle of wine and lounged about whilst my fiance played the piano, perfect. Where else can you do that?

The trip was so special for us and the riad so perfect that we got engaged one night whilst sitting on the terrace with our feet in the pool.

Go and stay here, you will not be disappointed.

Room Tip: If your a light sleeper choose on on the first floor.

Just got back from a long weekend in Marrakesh and I must say that Riad Les Trois Mages was the perfect choice for our trip. Its location was 'spot on', being a 10 minute walk to the main square, and just outside the Souks. The staff were very helpful and friendly and made us feel at home throughout our stay. Saida cooked up a storm of a Tanjia on our first night, which we enjoyed in the beautiful courtyard. Overall we were both very happy with our stay and would recommend it anyone who is heading to Marrakesh.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Melchior Suite which was perfect. Spacious, beautiful décor and

When you think that I booked into this Riad entirely and purely on the basis of previous reviews, to spend a weekend in a country I've never visited before has never been so easy or pleasant! I guess there is always a sense of trepidation when, as a seasoned traveller like myself who is used to staying in hotels, you usually know what you are going to get with the major chains. However, this guest house is a jewel within the Medina and I can honestly say that I shall return sooner and for longer! The Riad is owned by Tony and Anna, a couple from London and managed by Aidan, an English guy who lives locally. They are all thoroughly nice people who can't do enough for you during your stay and I seriously mean that! The Riad is fairly non descript from the outside and may even concern you a little the first time upon arrival when walking down the alley ways. Your fears are immediately allayed once the door is opened and you step inside this contemporary Moroccan building which is of such quality that you won't want to leave. The ground floor rooms are comfortable and welcoming. The piano is open to anyone who cares to tinker and I spent a few hours listening to delightful music floating up to our room on the first floor. The welcome from the staff was very friendly and the whole place just soothing and relaxing. I could go on forever about this place but I'll stop by saying that you will have nothing but a good time here with extremely pleasant people, wonderful rooms, a superb terrace with pool and lounge chairs, delicious food whether breakfast, lunch or dinner and a great location with easy access to enable you to discover the Medina and it's magic!! Thank you very much Anna, Tony, Aidan, Saida, Moushine, Najia & Laila. Loved it and see you all soon!

The Riad truly has a unique Moroccan setting with a pleasant atmosphere. Much more than what I expected. I am a traveler of exotic areas, and the majority of hotels I have slept in overnight have the same basic dull, plain, and colorless rooms;a television of 10 inches, a small decaying sofa, and a view of the hotel garage. Archaic and nothing interesting. However, in this Moroccan hotel, we have beautiful plants, exotic carpets, an open courtyard that lets in a fresh breeze at night, and a romantic setting of the stars. Once you enter, you will be greeted by Aiden, the hotel manager. He is a very resourceful and a delightful person to meet. He welcomes and accommodates guest. In addition, Aiden has great tips if you have any questions or concerns about Marrakesh, .

I recommend that you take a tour around Marrakesh. Aiden can arrange the tour. Bring money since there will be fees to enter museums, palaces, and gardens. The prices are low for each entrance.

The service is fantastic, the staff members are very polite and sweet and therefore, will all these varieties fused under one hotel, I couldn't ask for a better stay.

Room Tip: By all means, have someone pick you up at the airport to bring you to the Riad. It is beautiful loc...

Stayed here for a week in March and loved it. Aiden arranged a taxi to pick us up at the airport. We were a bit concerned when we got out and walked down the side street but as when we got throught the door I knew we'd made the perfect choice. As soon as our bags were in the room we were given mint tea and cake then Aiden walked us to the main square through the souks to help us get our bearings - a sign of the brilliant hospitality shown all week. We stayed in Melchior for the 1st 3 nights - then in Bahia for 4 nights. Loved the rooms especially Bahia - there are only 6 rooms so it feel like you're a guest in someones home rather than a hotel. All the rooms and lounge area overlook the courtyard and the sun terrace was a welcome respite after a day exploring the crazyness of the city. Breakfast was served in the courtyard each morning and we also ate dinner there the 1st night. On our last night it rained heavily and as we had an early start we decided to stay at the riad but hadn't ordered dinner (dinner is only cooked if preordered) - Aiden came to the rescue by getting us takeaway of chicken and chips Moroccan style and a bottle of wine to wash it down. Altough the ladies in the kitchen didn't speak much english it didn't seem to matter - they just know how to take care of you. If you want to just chill out in the lounge area at night then the large open fire gets lit and tended for you with more servings of tea if required!

If you want a 5* hotel with people fawning over you and a restaurant, bar and room that could be anywhere in the world then this is probably not the place for you. But if you want somewhere that makes you feel like you're in Marrakech with an authentic feel of the city, 5* hospitality and an oasis of calm from all the crazyness of the souks then this is perfect.

NB - of all the tips you get about do's and don'ts when in Marrackech I'd say the ones to remember are -
you will get lost in the souks whether you like it or not even with a map so enjoy the adventure -
don't take a picture of anyone unless you're willing to pay them -
you will probably be charged by most people trying to show you the way, so always carry small change just in case -
don't be afraid to say no when in shops even after haggling -
under no circumstances go to the leather tanneries unless you can stand the stench and then want to be royally rippped of by a queue of people from the men who run the tannery to their family/personal friend who owns the extortianate leather goods shop. Having told our 'guide' we only wanted to go if we could just look and had no intention of spending any money there (we had been warned about the tanneries) we were then faced by a group of very irate agressive people looking for very substantial tips - we refused to pay and made a hasty exit.

We stayed at Les Trois Mages for 2 nights at the end of a 2 week tour of Morocco. My husband, son and I all agreed that out of the 8 hotels/riads we had stayed in it was the nicest place we had stayed, a perfect ending to our 2 weeks. We were extremely lucky to have the whole riad to ourselves and all the staff were very polite and helpful but discreet. Breakfasts were delcicious and our room was very comfortable, defintely the fluffiest towels and the best shower pressue we had had on our whole trip! Great location - 15 mins walk to the souks. Can't wait to go back!

Stayed here with a group of friends for 4 days in mid-July and we rented out the whole riad. From the moment we arrived we were greeted with a warm welcome by the host Aidan and all his wonderful staff. All the rooms were beautifully presented, clean and with air-con (a must if you visit Marrakech in the middle of summer!). There are also ipod docking stations in the rooms so you can listen to your own music, and also a laptop downstairs for internet use. Breakfast was included in the price and served every morning and included a large variety of options - nothing was ever too much trouble for Saida and the others to prepare. The rooftop pool was lovely, and there were sofas in the shade on the roof to take cover from the sun.

Location is perfect - about 15 mins walk down to the Souks. Aidan very kindly accompanied us down there so we wouldn't get lost! Be prepared to do a bit og haggling though and don't accept the first prices offered. You'll be surprised how much traders will reduce their prices!

Overall a wonderful stay made all the more enjoyable by Aidan and his wonderful staff. Thank you for helping to make this a great holiday!
