“An oasis of calm”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 days ago NEW

I recently spent 5 nights at this Riad - Patrick Caroline and their staff could not have been more helpful, hospitable or friendly. The hotel is in a 300 year old building right in the centre of the medina but off the beaten track. The rooms are characterful, the food is good and the whole experience from start to finish was excellent. Thoroughly recommended.

I booked for a large group to stay for 3 nights via email with Patrick, the proprietor, and all my subsequent requests for information etc were replied to very quickly and efficiently. I believe all guests have an included pick-up at the airport, which is necessary as otherwise you would not find this riad in the maze of small alleyways. Don't be daunted by this, it is part of the character of Marrakech, but I would suggest taking photos of the turns as you first arrive, so that when you head out on your own you can find your way back.

When we arrived at the airport we were stuck in passport control queues for 2 hours which was miserable, but fortunately our drivers waited for us. When we arrived at the riad, we were greeted with mint tea and small pastries, served in one of the lovely courtyard areas - a nice touch.

All of our rooms were fine, some a bit larger than others. If you want to have a bit more space it is worth doing an upgrade to one of the larger rooms. Some other guests have commented about the drains - I agree a bit about this, but you are in the middle of a very old part of the city and a certain amount of this sort of thing must be expected. Similarly, other reviews mention the prayer calls from the mosques - we were aware of this but it wasn't something that spoiled our stay - if that sort of thing bothers you then remember your ear plugs or stay in the modern city.

Make sure that you explore the riad fully - there are little sitting areas tucked away around the riad, and the roof area is wonderful, all different levels and areas from which to look over the city or just sit and relax.

The staff are very nice and helpful, breakfast was good, and all in all we had a great stay. They do serve a limited selection of alcohol if you are that way inclined, most restaurants etc in the city do not.

Thanks Patrick, and all your staff.

Room Tip: We stayed in Pacha with is a 'suite' so it is a bit bigger than some of the other rooms with...

There are three main pitfalls to this Riad. The first is that there is no separation between the shower, toilet and sink in the bathroom. Furthermore, the drain in the bathroom was clogged and the water wouldn't drain which then overflowed into the rest of the room. Second, after booking the Riad, I received an email saying please pay in cash. I then responded and asked if they would take my credit card (considering I booked the reservation with the credit card) and they said that would be fine. However, when I checked out, they wouldn't take a credit card and I ended up having to pay cash. Given that I specifically asked if they would take a credit card, I found this unreasonable and inconvienient. Lastly, for the price, you can find a much better Riad in the same area.

A great riad and very nice staff khalid abraham and not forgetting mohammed and all the girls who all helped my wife and i to have a fabulous time the riad is full of character and so very clean it is a bit daunting when you first get there with having to go down semi dark passage ways but when you arrive at the riad it is like stepping into another world and all the staff bend over backwards to make your stay an enjoyable one, you are about a 15 minute walk to the main square (WHAT AN EXPERIENCE ) enjoy yourselves

Room Tip: it is a must that you arrange with the riad to send a taxi to pick you up because you WILL not find...

Beautiful Riad. We stayed in the room named Khouba - great size, quiet and full of character. Very attentive, kind and courteous staff - drew us maps, provided great restaurant recommendations and always willing to chat. Superb food, both breakfast and in the evening. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Very underwhelming when you first arrive but the Riad is lovely (although a bit cold in the evening in February) and the staff couldn't be more attentive and friendly. Bit of a drain smell in the bathroom. Breakfast was good. Probably we would try somewhere else next time but enjoyed our stay here.

I have to thanks again Patrick and all the people working in the Riad... They make sure you don't need anything, are very helpful and so kind. The location is perfect, very close to couple of restaurants, street animation and shops and walking distance from the center of the Medina and souck. I love the fact that it is located in a quiet backstreet (in El Bacha), so we can enjoy the vue and a peaceful tea time on the top garden/roof of the riad. This time Marrakesh was a dream in the Trois Palmiers

Room Tip: We enjoyed the room on the roof terrace for the vue even nights can be a little chill in February (a...
