We had a fantastic 3 night stay at the Riad le Clos des Arts. It really was perfect.
Our holiday had started with a delayed flight and further delays at the airport to get through passport control. I phoned the riad and spoke to Georgina who was lovely and told me not to worry at all. We had arranged a transfer with the riad from the airport and also dinner with them that evening. When we finally got through the airport our driver was waiting for us and drove us away from the madness of the airport.
We arrived at a small car park near the riad, which is itself situated in the heart of the Medina. We were immediately greeted there by Massimo, and somebody took our cases to the riad for us. Massimo walked us to the riad, and explained a little about Marrakech, how to walk through the Medina, and made sure we felt safe knew where we were.
Things only got better from there. By now it was around 11pm, but the staff had waited for us and dinner was served on the roof terrace, which was beautiful. The food at the riad really was spectacular. Breakfast each morning was perfect, with lovely fresh fruit, bread, tea and more. Dinner was the best we had in Marrakech (we ate out one night and it didn't come close). It was more of a private dining experience. The chicken tagine we had on our last night was probably the best meal we have ever had.
All of the staff were lovely, and couldn't have been more helpful. Massimo and Georgina were amazing hosts - arranging transport, restaurants and a fantastic hammam experience. They also gave us great advice about getting around Marrakech, what to do and where to go. We are getting married later this year and at the end of our visit they gave us a good luck charm which is now in our flat in London, and a lovely reminder of our stay.
We rarely go back to the same places again, but will be making an exception with the Riad le Clos des Arts. We will definitely be back. Simply amazing.
