Owner description: Traditional storytelling dates back thousands of years an is an important part of the Moroccan collective memory. However this rich tradition is fading asfewer raconteurs detail rich narratives for crowds in Jema el-Fna’a square. Cafe Clock reinvigorates this tradition by bringing retired storytellers to perform alongside freshly trained apprentices of the craft. Stories in English and Arabic.

“Fun cooking class”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2015

We did a 6h cooking class and learned some of the techniques for cooking Moroccan cuisine. Overall it was a fun experience but not exactly as advertised -- we did not get to go shopping in the markets and there were several long unstructured breaks. Less teaching and more instruction and division of tasks. Still it was a good experience and we met another nice family.

The restaurant looked like a cool place to come for lunch or an evening but we did not have enough time to come back.

“Fantastic last night on our trip in Marrakech”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2015

Indulged in Camel Burgers & Tapas whilst our ears were blessed with stories of Marrakech.

It's a cracking spot, with great decor blending the old and new.

Traditional storytelling was captivating and the place has a really genuine vibe to it.

“Ask for "Moneya"”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2015

We have been to this restaurant numerous times, both in Fes and in Marrakech. There are two great things about this place (other than the food itself). Firstly, the quality of the food is very consistent and always a pleasure. Secondly, the price is excellent and you can eat two courses with two drinks and coffee for around two hundred dirham.

If you visit here, look out for a waitress by the name of "Moneya". Although all the servers were delightful, Moneya even endulged our requests to allow us to finish off a nearby customers food! She even went and plated it up fresh for us.

One last thing, make sure if you eat here to not just get the camel burger. While it is an experience, there are many other fantastic Moroccan alternatives on the menu!

“Consistant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2015

My husband and I visited Cafe Clock several times during our first trip to Morocco last year and once this trip (2015). It is a nice little taste of home for when you are just sick and tired of couscous! (Although I admit my favorite thing there that I tried was the Falafel and the almond milkshake.) The husband stuck with the camel burger (a must try) and the chocolate milkshake. The environment is comfortable, and the service is great. There is always something going on there too whether it is live music, a poetry reading, or a class. We've been to both the Fes an Marrakech locations.

“Excellent and hip little cafe”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2015

Wsh I had found this sooner, it's just round the corner from Rue de la Kasbah and it's owned by someone English, as you can tell by the decor left inside.

The menu is thoroughly Morrocan though with some of the classics on there, including the camel burger, almond milkshakes and the like.

All in all a great place for a quick meal or coffee, their informal and western european setting makes for a nice breakaway.
