“Great stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2014

We spent a week here and loved this place. It is just 10 min walk from the main Marrakech attractions and is really quiet, clean and very, very nice.

The staff were very friendly and always helpful. We liked the touch of the general manager waiting for us on our arrival day to welcome us even if we arrived very late.

They serve very good breakfast and also the quality of the restaurant is quite good (although we only ate there once).

Overall we can definitely highly recommend this place

We had four nights here and loved it. Staff where all friendly and extremely helpful. Very nice room and a good size pool given the location in the Medina this is a rarity. The food was good and we enjoyed the meal in the restaurant, the lamb tagine was fantastic and the banana pancake one of the best I have had. It is a 20 minute walk to the square but that's fine given the quality of the hotel, pool and staff. Only comment I would add is I don't know why the glass roof over the restaurant is sometimes closed it's better open . A couple more sun beds around the pool would be nice there is a bit more space to do that. Over all I would highly recommend this hotel.

I chose this riad based on all the other amazing reviews. Very good value for money, staff were very friendly and helpful. I was staying on my own and the lovely receptionist asked all the other guests if any of them wanted to go to one of the day trips with me so that I wasn't on my own. They also arranged a lovely guide to take me around the city at very short notice.

I only ate at the riad once but it was lovely. I had the beef cous cous. I nearly had a heart attack when the meat came attached to the bone (I'm a really fussy eater) but it tasted absolutely delicious. The breakfast was lovely too- there was always someone there to cook you up a fresh omelette. They also have buy one get one free on cocktails between 6:30 and 7:30pm.

As a single person staying at the riad, it would have been so easy for me to hide away in my room whenever I was there. I was impressed by the many cute places to sit and enjoy a cocktail or glass of mint tea- the bar, the terrace, the pool, etc. There was even a little living room area. I was also impressed by how good the WIFI was!

All in all a great riad!

Have just got back from a 5 night trip to celebrate a wedding anniversary. We chose the hotel based on other reviews and were not in the least bit disappointed. The hotel is located in a quiet part of the medina but only about a 15 minute stroll away from the main square (Jemaa el-Fnaa) and it really is a little oasis of peace. The facilities are fantastic and our suite was beautifully decorated and very comfortable, with rose petals on the bed each night! The restaurant courtyards and pool are idyllic. The staff are friendly and helpful - the two ladies who run reception each organised restaurant reservations for us (including a fantastic anniversary meal) as well as taxis (telling us how much to pay for the fare in advance to save too much haggling). The spa is also well worth a visit -- a real experience and totally relaxing.
All in all I would thoroughly recommend the Borjs and will definitely go back for another visit!

Room Tip: If possible go for a suite as the extra space is nice. We had a room facing towards the pool which w...

We chose this riad based on previous reviews and were not disappointed. We contacted them directly to take advantage of their 'pot pourri' special offer of a guided tour of Marrakech, a cookery lesson and a hammam. We were very pleased with all aspects of the riad but especially the friendliness of the staff. Nothing was too much bother. We'd booked a suite which was beautifully decorated and had fresh rose petals on the bed every day; a lovely touch. Although it is located in the centre of the Kasbah area of the Medina, it was very quiet inside the riad complex and peaceful. You do need to be careful on the road outside with carts, bikes, scooters etc but that is largely the case everywhere in Marrakech. It took us 15 minutes to walk to the main square and there are ATMs and a bureau de change on the way.
The only thing we'd change would be the option of feather pillows as we found the pillows too hard for our liking. We usually take our own but this was not possible with only travelling with hand luggage. However that is a minor point.
Definitely one to return to for a relaxing break.

Room Tip: All the rooms we saw looked good but those near the pool have more direct sunlight.

This wonderful hotel was like stepping out of the noise and dirt of the old town into a quiet little heaven. Staff was wonderful, the food and bar drinks were great, and the beautiful interior was kept spotless. Lunch at the pool was a highlight - how delightful to eat there when it was too hot to be anywhere else.

Room Tip: Ask for the suite or the deluxe room

This small hotel is located in a quiet part of the old town - The Medina. The welcome is great, the rooms are comfortable and well equipped and the facilities are superb for such a small hotel. I would strongly recommend a visit. The staff smile all the time - a very happy place.
