My partner and I have recently returned from a 5-day stay in this absolutely stunning Riad. The location, food, service and rooms were certainly amongst the very best we have ever experienced!

The Basics: The Riad is owned and operated by Michael and Michel who are very warm and welcoming hosts. The Riad has 5 guest rooms, individually decorated with a warm Morrocan feel. Each room has en-suite facilities of a high standard, a safe for valuables (although the Riad is very secure) and bottled spring water which is replenished daily free of charge. There is a small plunge pool in the courtyard which is perfect for a quick dip. Off the courtyard there is a dining area (although you can also eat on the roof or outside your own room) and a small longe area packed with books on Morrocco. There are also various spa treatments available onsite at the Riad. I would recommend having a hamman (a traditional form of exfoliation) early on in your holiday. I don't think my partner has ever been so clean!! The massages are also wonderful and will ensure you feel completely relaxed.

The Location: The Riad is situated within the old City walls of the Medina about a 10 minute walk to both the main square in the Medina - where you can experience the hustle and bustle of the souks - and the New Town outside the City walls where the larger hotels and shops are situated.

The Food: Breakfast is included in the rate of the room and is served on the sun tearrace on the roof of the Riad. Breakfast inlcudes fresh fruits, breads and cakes with tea/coffee and orange juice and the most delicious creamy yoghurt (which is Michel's own recipe). You can also request dinner which we would highly recommend! We ended up eating at the Riad on 4 nights and were treated to 3 or 4 courses of the most delicious Moroccan inspired food cooked to our own tastes. I am vegetarian and the chef designed specially prepared tagines, cutlets and kebabs for me - all of which were very tasty. The desserts were particularly incredible - ask the chef to make you his hot stawberry spring roll, gorgeous! Mint tea, coffee and spring water are free. The Riad has a licence and is therefore able to serve alcoholic drinks including locally sourced wine. The cocktails were very good and the food and the drink is very reasonably priced.

The Service: All of the staff at the Riad were very attentive. The rooms are serviced regularly and you will find that your clothes will have been tidied away and the bed made by the time you return from breakfast! They also turn down the bed for you at night. Michael and Michel are always on hand to advise you on trips and excursions, places to visit and tips on haggling in the souks. They will also arrange taxis for you and wake up with you to see you off on early trips. You really feel like you have been well looked after and you won't want to leave them....

I simply cannot say enough about this place, it truly was a wonderful stay and comes very highly recommended.

Have just returned from a four day break to Marrakech. Riad Al Massarah was a beautiful place to stay. We were really looked after in every way. The food was great, dinner and breakfast were delicious and in amazing settings. Also, the general attention to detail was faultless. It is a little way away from the center which we liked, not a long walk to the souks and main square. I would highly recommend this Riad.

Really lovely riad that felt luxurious yet still homely and very relaxed. Although the owners Michel and Michael were away for most of the time we were staying there, on there return they chatted to us and made sure our stay had been enjoyable and were overall very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend this place to friends.
Delicious breakfasts and lovely sun terrace!

We stayed here for 3 nights and the hospitality shown by Michael and Michel was unbeatable. They gave excellent advice about how much to pay for things, where to go for food and drinks and how to navigate the streets. The Riad itself was like a home from home. All the rooms were furnished beautifully and with all amenities. The rooftop was a great place to unwind in the sun and the rooms were refreshingly cool during the day with the doors open and the breeze coming in. Breakfast on the terrace was an excellent way to start the day. Of all the food we ate in Marrakech, the dinner at the Riad was definately the best. I would recommend having an exfoliation and massage in the hamman - this was certainly an experience I wouldn't have had if not organised for us and was well worth it. The location of the Riad is perfect for the souks, the square and the New Town, everything was just 10- 15 minutes walk away. We never got lost getting back and the streets are very well lit at night. Highly recommended.

We have just returned from a wonderful holiday staying in the Riad al Messarah. The house is beautifully decorated with an abundance of fresh flowers. In the evening the light from the candles made it seem even more magical. The whole place had such an air of calm and tranquility, as soon as you walk through the doors the manic of the medina dissapears - which is pretty amazing when you consider the location is just a short walk away from the souks and Jemaa El Fna square. The lovely roof terrace is a great place to simply chill for a few hours. The food was excellent and the service faultless. It was our first time in Marrakech and we would certainly have struggled were it not for the help of our hosts Michael & Michel who booked restaurants and trips for us and gave lots of helpful advise. I would certainly recommend Riad al Messarah as a great place to stay - and I am looking forward to returning!
