“Lovely Stay in Marrakech”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 5, 2012

We have just returned from a short break to Marrakech.
It took a bit of time reading through Tripadvisor reviews before we decided on the Riad el Mansour. This riad seemed to fulfil all our requirements and we are very pleased that we decided on Riad el Mansour.
Though the riad seems to be a bit hidden, it was within easy walking distance from the centre of the old city and an oasis of calm and tranquillity amongst the seeming chaos of Marrakech.
Nothing seemed like too much trouble for either Abdess or Wadi, who were so helpful in suggesting very good restaurants, arranging transport and organising a trip to the mountains for us.
We had dinner at the riad the first night, and it was exceptionally good. We felt guilty having to leave so much food in our plates due to the size of the portions.
The restaurants we visited the following 2 nights, were equally good, thanks to Abdess' recommendation.

Mustafa was the driver who took us to a village high up is the mountains. Not only is he a friendly, helpful and safe driver but also a very knowledgeable guide. Definitely, a trip to be recommended.

Since our flight left late in the afternoon, Abdess kindly offered us continued use of our room until it was time to leave for the airport. What a pleasant end to our Marrakech break.
I cannot recommend the Riad el Mansour higher. The staff turned our short break into an unforgettable experience.

Thank you for the review.
Yes we admit Riad El Mansour is a bit hidden as are almost all of the Riads in the ancient medina, but we are pleased that we are in a quite area, and not too close to any Mosques that wake guests up with the early call to prayer and we are away from the noise of the mopeds and cars and donkeys!
As mentioned we easy walking distance to the attractions and less than a 10 minute walk to the Beautiful Yves St Laurent gardens.
Our guests are pleased to have a little sanctuary away from the madness that is Marrakech!
We would always let our guests stay to use their room later than the normal required midday departure, and of course with no extra charge.
Marrakech is an unforgettable experience, and everyone should at least give it one chance to say they have been there, and fall in love with the magical City, and perhaps return again!

My wife and I have traveled extensively, all around the world over the years, and Riad El Mansour is by far one of the top places we have stayed. Robert and his staff spare NO effort in making sure that their guests have the very best care while under their roof. From when the room was first booked, we were contacted by email (and telephone!) regarding train station transfers and meal selections. When we arrived in Marrakech we were met by Mustafa and taken to the riad. As cliche as it may sound, we really felt like we were greeted by an old friend instead of someone we'd never laid eyes on.It only got better after that. The riad itself is absloutely impeccable. A true oasis of clean and calm in the center of the bustling old city. Beautiful appointments throughout with amazing attention to detail You can't help but be impressed. The food and drink were superb. Moroccan specialties cooked to perfection presented with polite, courteous, and efficient service. The room was very comfortable and deftly appointed. Water, snacks, robes, slippers, soaps and lotions all contribute to the overall relaxing effect. And it doesn't end there! The staff, with particular mention of Abdess, really went out of their way to ensure that we had the best possible experience not only in the riad, but in Marrakech and Morocco as a whole. When we hit a glitch in our ongoing travel plans due to the Eid el Adha holiday, Abdess and Mustafa went the extra mile to sort us out with phone calls, taxis, bus tickets, and accomodation all on a holiday when not much was getting done. I have blood relatives who wouldn't take care of me as well!!
All in all, our stay at Riad El Mansour is definitely one we will never forget. This place is much, much more than a hotel or guest house! Inshallah, we will visit our friends in Marrakech again someday soon. When that time comes, we'll feel like we're going home. Highly recommended on all levels!!!

Room Tip: In Marrakech, don't look any further!

Thank you for the long, informative and very positive review!
We are pleased you chose Riad El Mansour, and seems you were pleased too.
We always try to do little things to make each stay more personal and it seems very much appreciated by all of our guests.
We treat all of our guests with the attention and care which is needed for them to enjoy a much deserved holiday.
Things do occasionally go wrong on someones holiday and our staff will always do the utmost to help in any way they can.
We look forward to welcoming you back to your home in Marrakech again shortly!

We were met at the airport by the hotels driver who straight away offered to carry our luggage.
In the car Mustapha was proud to tell us all about the things to see in Marrakech
The hotel is in a good area in the old walled city, and in such a quiet area.

We ate at the hotel for my birthday, and they supplied me a birthday cake (complimentary!)
The food really is very good.

The Riad is so beautifully furnished and you step into a different world upon entering, you immediately feel relaxed upon entering it.

Believe the reviews!
I took us so long to decide on where to stay in Marrakech and we came up trumps with this small personal hotel.
As soon as you arrive you are treated special.
In our room was a personalised welcome card, complimentary Argan Oil, flowers, fruit, Moroccan pastries, water.
There are both robes supplied and slippers provided. The owners really have thought of every small detail.
The best thing of all is the staff. I can not thank them enough, NOTHING was too much trouble.
The breakfasts are very filling with different choices daily.
We had lunch here, superb and such good value.
We have already booked our return next year with our friends.

Room Tip: We were on the ground floor... So peaceul and such a calming influence

Thank you Paul, for taking the time to write a review for us. Many of our guests find our hotel through tripadvisor and don't take the time to leave a review after, and so it is much appreciated!
We do like to make our guests feel welcome, and know they enjoy and appreciate the little touches that we provide such as the complimentary flowers, fruit, pastries, water and argan oil samples. We look at it is part of the service.
We pride our food, and the portions are perhaps a little on the large side, but rather that than not enough!
We look forward to receiving you and your friends next year again!

Abdess and his team treated us like we were royalty! The word "no" does not exist inside the riad. They make sure you are 100% taken care of during every minute of the day. Whether it's Mustafa driving you wherever you need to go, the chef giving you a personal cooking lesson or just simply making sure your water is always filled in the room, you will feel totally spoiled and relaxed!

I recommend eating all meals at the riad. I am a major foodie and did a ton of research on the best authentic restaurants in town and was not impressed. I am sure I would have liked it if I hadn't already been spoiled by the riad. We went during Ramadan so I am sure that also limited us a lot as far as restaurants.

I wish we could have stayed longer and I am sure I will be back soon. When I do make my way back to Marrakech, I will definitely be staying at the Riad El Mansour!!!

Room Tip: We were in the Azure. It was perfect! The pictures online don't do it justice.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, I know many of our guests use tripadvisor to find us, but unfortunately do not take the time out after to leave us a review, so your time is appreciated!
I am pleased you enjoyed the food at our riad, we have had our cook Latifa since the first day we opened and she is very much appreciated by us and all of our guests!
Also pleased to hear you found the room so lovely as it is one of our smaller rooms.
We look forward to you returning for a longer visit next time!

A lovely riad in the north of the medina. This riad is a sanctuary from the bustle of the souks and the hassle of the streets. The riad is approached from a busy street through 3 passages that can be be a bit daunting if you are not ready for it (it took four days to remove the dead kitten!).

The service at the riad was outstanding, nothing was too much trouble, organising dinner at excellent restaurants, a day trip to the Atlas mountains and transfer to and from the airport.

Would we visit again? Without doubt, "yes", there were other riads that we ate at that we liked and would consider staying, but the staff at the riad made our stay special.

We appreciate that you found us a sanctuary from the madness that is outside called Marrakech!
As the Riad is in a quite cul de sac, it is quieter than many other Riads, no traffic or moped noise.
We like to think of our service as good, and from the reviews we receive I know this is the case.
We look forward to your return visit!

I chose this Riad after reading other reviews and was not dissapointed. Abdass was most welcoming and full of interesting facts about the city, without his map and guidence i'm sure our time in Marrakech would have been very different, The rest of the staff were also very nice, friendly and helpful. We could not fault our stay there, rooms very clean and attention to detail was perfect with the fruit, flowers etc. Breakfast was also very good, plenty of choice. We had dinner at the Riad on our first night, it was delicious. I would definatly recommend this little find in the labyrinths of the Madina streets.
