Casa Taos is a wonderful home from home. It’s a luxurious, gorgeously decorated country house with a great swimming pool and extensive grounds complete with hammocks, cats, and two huge friendly dogs. We felt like we were visiting old friends and enjoyed chatting with the other guests, staff and owners. The staff were amazing – we felt truly looked after for our whole stay.

They take their food seriously – we ate here twice and loved both meals. We did make the mistake of trying to eat the entire salad course on the first night (the dishes were very tasty) and then struggled with the main! For our second meal, the Tagine of chicken with vermicelli noodles, cinnamon and sugar was stunning (the best dish of our holiday). Breakfasts were also great: fresh, interesting and copious. They grow or home-make much of their food – the fresh yogurts with orange blossom were extraordinary (we’re now planning to buy our own yogurt maker as a result). I’m a keen foodie and following my constant barrage of questions about Moroccan food, we were presented with a small tub of their home preserved lemons to take away. Such a nice touch!

There is a huge selection of DVDs and it was so nice at the end of a long day’s sight-seeing to relax with a movie.

For the transfer from airport, be prepared to haggle or let the hotel organise it for you (we managed to get 200 dhs which felt like an achievement). They will happily arrange excursions into Marrakech for you. We had a return taxi for a Medina trip that included a stop at the Ensemble Artisanal for 250 dhs – significantly cheaper than we would have been able to arrange ourselves.

Thank you Casa Taos!

We booked a 4 day break in Casa Taos leaving our children at home. It was absolutely fabulous, a real oasis. Nice rooms, pool and garden in combination with warm and attentive service made it a perfect stay. We loved the quality of the food, all fresh and homemade. If we have the opportunity, we will return.

I+M from Amsterdam.

I have just returned from a 3 night stay at this most enchanting of places, Casa Taos. No words to describe how this place made me feel nor can I quite put my finger on the uniqueness of this place. I felt it from the moment we stepped out of the taxi and into the capable hands of the happy smiling staff that took such good care of us throughout our stay, to the moment we reluctantly stepped back into our taxi to go home. A few of the things I loved....the smiling faces greeting us when we arrived, the first glimpse of the pool and beyond to the hammocks in the beautiful garden setting, seeing our huge room Sophia not quite believing this was ours for the next 3 days, dangling my legs in the beautifully cool pool whilst watching the comings and goings of this delightful family, having Echo snuggle up beside me whilst eating my breakfast on the terrace, being made to feel special by the ever attentive Mohammed and the lovely lady who worked with him, eagerly awaiting the exquisite food that was put before us, and Hicham for his endless patience in answering our barrage of questions with a smile and such grace.....every little bit of it, all together, just magical. What I didn't love.....well nothing at all, even the journey to and from the centre of Marrakech was no great hardship at all (just 20 mins), in fact it gave me time to gaze out of the window and watch this wonderful city and it's gracious people unfold. I always said I would only write a review for that truly special place, and this is it. I hope I have the luck and privilege to return one day very soon..... Insha'allah.

Therre is a saying in Spanish "your house is my house". This could have been written about Casa Taos.

From the moment you arrive Hicham, for his personality is the spirit that infuses this place, you are a guest not at a hotel but at a family home. But a very special home.

One where parasols on wheels will be moved without asking by the ever thoughtful Mohammed to ensure that as the sun moves you have consistent shade by the pool. One where when you come back late at night to find Hicham having dinner with family and guests, he will invite you to join them - but if you prefer to be left alone, he will instead bring you a sample of his homemade lemon sorbet "its my recipe - it has vodka in it". And where even after changing your mind about where you want to eat five times, when you finally return (from the place he recommended in the first instance!) his enquiry about whether you enjoyed it feels like asking a close relative not a customer.

And every single thing we ate (or drank - exquisite juices and smoothies made only from what is seasonal) for three days was exquisite - both tasty and delicate at the same time - and this from someone who is unbelievably fussy about his food.

The pool is unheated. The cab ride into town is about 25 minutes. The two resident dogs may become over enthusiastic in their nuzzling for affection.

But none of that matters, In a world where faceless corporations seem to have more and more power whilst they still try to fake what is personal, staying here is a privilege. This home has an enormous heart and Hicham gives unstintingly of himself to ensure that you are welcomed into it with a warmth, enthusiasm and gentleness that envelopes and relaxes you the moment you arrive.

Just about to leave (reluctantly) this amazing peaceful and beautiful hotel after spending 5 days here. Beautiful morroccan style rooms, large pool and gardens, friendly staff who could not do enough for you, fantastic service, delicious feasts, would highly recommend staying here on a trip to Marrakech, a well needed contrast to the crazy city centre. I will be recommending this place to my friends and family and would definitely not hesitate to come back here again for another relaxing break. See it for yourself I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

Had a wonderful long weekend at Casa Taos, the room was lovely as was the food. The breakfast is fantastic.

The real star of the show is Mohamed who cannot do enough for you and seems to genuinely enjoy his work, also the young lady who works with him unfortunately I cannot remember her name.

The ride into the city is a good 20 minutes but Mohamed is always happy to arrange a trustworthy taxi.

The beds are a little hard but I think this is personal choice and we certainly hope to go back one day.
