“Ibtissam”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2012 via mobile

The highlight of our stay in Marakesh was the Riad. Ibtissam, our hostess, fixed us a traditional dish for dinner all 4 nights of our stay, and they were delicious! Great breakfasts, Comfortable beds and well situated.

Riad des drôles was just perfect for our first visit to Marrakech.
It's only 2 minutes away from the town center ( Jamal Fna ), and you still have peace when you need it ( i did... )

Ibtissam and Simo welcomed us with a smile and ( the best ), mint tea! And they even took the time to take us around town for a quick and helpful introduction.

We had a gorgeous breakfast every morning with fresh orange, pancakes and yogurt with nuts.. Made each day start just that bit better.

Our room ( the red one ), cozy, comfortable and ( most importante for me...) very clean with beautiful decration.

The only bad thing i can say is that it was raining and a little bit cold ( quite normal in January, not much we can do about that...), so i couldn't use the terrace as much as i wanted...

I've told all my friends about your Riad des Drôles and i'm sure we will be back :)

Kind regards from Tavira, Portugal.

We were sent here by chance ( our reservation for another riad was misunderstood so they send us here) Didier and Muriel treated us very well, the room was awesome with a beautiful bathroom in and the breakfast (included in the price) was jummy indeed.
It's a clean, nice and well comunicated place to stay in.
My last morning in Marrakesh was siiting down in their lovely terrace, having sun and tea.

We've been three times in Marrakech and we're always in Riyadh. Surely we will be in des droles on our next visit to Marrakech, because it feels like home. It's a place that reflects well the Moroccan people, pleasant, family, and humble. Very practical and very close to the Square.
It has good contacts with parking very safe and inexpensive for those who want to drive and has an excellent taxi service.
The breakfast is wonderful, delicious tea and .. if the coffee was stronger like in Portugal ... would live there !!!!!
It's good to find people who always welcome us so warmly and who know so well receiving with so much respect for difference.

We will come back soon ...

I've stayed in this riad for two times, first one in March of 2010 and the second one in September of 2011, and I can say of this riad... simply amazing... nice rooms, well decorated. The staff it's amazing, very friendly and help you without any problem if you need anything. Ibtissam is really nice in the welcome and Simo, who speak english, spanish and a little portuguese besides the traditional french, is amazing in the way that he treats you. The location is fabulous, 5min walking of Place Jemma al Fna for a main street (Derb Dabachi), almost impossible to get lost in the way to the riad (even in old medida of Marrakech, where is really easy and fun to get lost). At night you have one little terrace with sofas and chairs to refresh a little bit your mind after one day walking in the vibrant souks. I recommend the riad, and i will stay there in my next trip to Marrakech, because Marrakech it's the perfect place to start an epic discovery journey for that incredible country that is Morocco.

our short stay in this house was pleasant and homely which was made possible due to Ibtissam the govenor of the Riad. it was a short distance from the famous Jemma El Fna Square which is a lively place to go to at night which offers alot of entertainment and oppurtunities to do a spot of shopping. breakfast was always prepared in the early hours ready for us and was delicious. the only downside to our stay there was that there were people coming in and out of the house and speaking loudly which disturbed us when we were asleep so there was no privacy. however i would strongely recommend it to families.
