“Great riad”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 17, 2012

I and three friends enjoyed our stay here

The staff were warm and friendly

It's a genuinely traditional riad and the rooms are furnished in a traditional manner

Breakfast was excellent

The location is good as its walking distance to square

One minor drawback of the location is that it's off the Main Street down a lane way
So some people may feel a little nervous walling down to the riad at night time but we found that there is always residents walking up and down the laneway, plus the palace police/guards are on the Main Street

We booked Riad Dalia not knowing exactly what to expect and as we approached down the Medina's dark and narrow streets, we were immediately having second thoughts. But as soon as you open the front door you are confronted by a beautiful and calm oasis of comfort. Like everyone who stays here, we were impressed by the welcome the Mohammed gives. He goes out of his way to make sure that you have everything you need. When we told him where we wanted to go for dinner, not only did he make the reservation but he arranged for one of his friends to come and walk with us to the restaurant so that we would definitely find it. It was absolutely essential that he did that.

The room was plenty large for us and looked at many of the others which were all amply sized. The bathroom was gorgeous and the hot water was plentiful and very hot, something that can be rare in Morocco. The breakfast is a mix of Moroccan and European and while simple is more than sufficient. The common area of the riad is very nice and great to have a drink at the end of the day. We had a couple small issues at the very end of our stay, but I don't think those were really Mohammed's fault.

For the native English speakers: Mohammed speaks and understands English better than he is willing to admit. He's not confident about it though. It would be good to tease it out of him as much as possible so he grows more confident.

Spent 4 nights here and had a wonderful time. Owner Mohamed is so welcoming and sweet and helps you with whatever you need in Marrakech and Morocco. The rooms are super cosy and beautiful, also clean and well kept. Thanks you so much Mohamed and we will be back!!

This was our first stay in Morocco and we had nothing but class when from the start to the end of our stay in May. Mohammad was one of many people that we met on our trip that will be imprinted in the memory of the country. The helpfulness at any little detail was noted.
The room was very cozy and we had no issues on our stay. Food was prepared whenever we asked for it, and was a delight to enjoy a dinner there.
I will recommend this to anybody. Also the location is great, very close to everything, but not too confusing to get to and from on your own.

Mr. Mohammed is very kind and helpful, the room was charming, very clean and in a typical Maroccain style. The Riad like all the other ones in the Medina is a little difficult to find the first time, but there're so many people ready to become your guide when you arrive! Really nice i'm sooo happy to have chosen it! Really good breakfast as well!

This Riad was the our first riad stay when we landed in Morocco-Marrakesh..and from the time we stepped in the Riad we felt home..The owner Mohammed was so generous and kind..that he told the cook to prepare for us some quick snacks to eat at noon time as we were really hungry..and without charging extra money..

The rooms are very traditionally made and very spacious..Its a family riad so there is no danger of any sort to stay here..

Riad is approx 15 min away by foot from the main square Jan el fena..and to get to the main square is very easy from the riad..

Many thanks...
Regards
Haresh and Madhuri Bhatia from Dubai

Riad Dalia is an authentic traditional Moroccan small palace with a peaceful, colorful central garden courtyard. Coming in from the nearby medina and the hawking in the souk is like stepping immediately out of chaos into order and quiet. It is all the work of the owner, Mohammed, the kind and helpful proprietor who has spent the past 15 or so years restoring this old Moroccan mansion back to its former glory. The atrium has the traditional trees and a central fountain, beautiful tiles, Arabic calligraphy and architecture. The rooms are not huge but they are of a reasonable size, tastefully decorated with bright fabric and tiles, mosaic lighting fixtures and small decorative pieces that one would never find in even the finest hotels. Trust is key. Cleanliness is obvious; substantial breakfasts get one off to a good start. The location is perfect for visiting the fabled central square -- a "must see" but only once! Don't get lost in the souk or you'll be paying a bunch of kids who are only too willing to show you the way out. Look like you know what you're doing and try not to pay too much attention to the constant hawkers and sellers in the souk and on the streets. It's a cultural phenomenon. In all, Riad Dalia is a little gem and the owner is a jeweler. Worth the money and the effort to find it among the alleys.
