We had left the taxi parked in the comforting street lights which were soon fading from us as we made our way down a dark alley way. The 'guide' (local boy) led down a twisting turning route which got narrower and darker as we went along. After a little while we were about to turn around thinking we were being led somewhere else but then we turned yet another corner and we had arrived... a little door in the darkness "o2". The o2 Riad was really great and a wonderfully peaceful hidden away treasure which was a welcome end to any afternoon spent deep in the mayhem of Marrakech. The food (only sampled breakfast) was delicious and served up on the roof which gave you vistas of the mountain range. The call to prayer could be heard in the early hours but it wasn't too disturbing and really added to the general atmosphere. When our credit cards got stolen in the night market the owners were really helpful with letting us use the computer as much as we needed. Would definitely stay again although by the fourth day of walking from the riad to the main square in Marrakech and back, we'd had enough of manoeuvring down the busy thoroughfare!
