“A Little Piece of Paradise!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2011

We absolutely loved this little gem of a place...the staff could not have been more helpful or welcoming - it felt like we were staying with a family!

Moad, Sherif, Amina, Rashida and even the owner Marie (and her adorable little girl!) who happened to be there whilst we were, constantly asked if we needed help with getting anywhere, with ideas of where to go and what to do...and the manager Moad didnt get annoyed once at our incessant asking for the Jacuzzi to be heated up again and again (so luxurious and romantic!).

Even the drivers Aziz and Isham were like a part of the big Riad family, with Isham taking us on our Atlas Mountains trip. Really informed and intelligent and with alarmingly good English, Isham made sure our day was one to enjoy despite the torrential rain!

Despite the weather not being the greatest we were still able to have breakfast outdoors every day (served on terrace/ courtyard/ in your room), and the roof terrace was perfect for when the sun did come out!

The Riad is located a short walk away from the hub of the action and despite other travellers saying it could be hard to find- with Moads excellent map lesson, we didnt get lost once! The souks and square are about a ten minute walk from the riad (providing you dont get lost in the maze of the souks (which you will) but soon enough you get your bearings and know what to look out for to make your way back!

Exploring Marrakech is an exotic and exciting treat, and it almost feels like you've gone back in time...more impressive as its actually so close to Europe! I would definately go again, and no doubt would stay in the beaitiful Riad 02, and will without hesitation reccomend friends who are thinking of visiting this beautiful City.

Loved this little riad! So chic and modern with all of the right touches. The courtyard is beautiful and even has a jacuzzi! The rooms are adorable and the terrace is beautiful.

The staff is extremely nice and accommodating. They even bring in someone to give you a hammam in their private and amazing facilities. Magical!

The food is incredible. Man can Rashida cook! I will dream about those meals, especially the breakfast, for years to come.

The only thing that isn't ideal is the location, but it is very convenient to the new city and the Majorelle Gardens.

You will LOVE this place!

This Riad is like being in a oasis in the heart of the Medina. We arrived late at night because our flight was delayed ,and I have to confess the streets to get there at midnight seemed a bit scary ... once there thought, the door opened up to a wonderful and charming place, just perfectly decorated, cosi and safe. We realised after a few days that our first impression (because getting there at night) was totally wrong. Streets are safe, people walking them are mainly locals who live their lifes peacefully there. Of course during day time you could not avoid being asked to be accompanied to your riad if you look lost to them, but this has nothing to do with the riad, it's the way they do in Marrakesh. People in the riad will kinldy give you some adviced on how to do to accept or refuse this kind of help. Anyway, the "labyrinthic" layout of the medina is to be understood as one its wonders, really. Don't be afraid of getting lost, it"s part of the enchanting game of the city. If you don't like the feeling, don't go, better go to Paris or any other square city where good maps exist. No one has got the map of the medina in Marrakesh, there's no point really. Just recall a few parameters on the first day you are there or, if you really need your way out, ask a woman rather than a man. But to find riad 02, their staff will tell and you will have no problem in finding it. For sure, as I have seen in other reviews, a taxi from the city might cost 2/3 of the price they charge, but will only get you to the nearest possible point where cars can park, and leave you to your own from there. On the first day, this might not be the right thing to do, so believe me, their offer to pick you up is most advisable and honest for the price, as the chauffeur will accompany you by walking with your luggage until the riad itself, which you will be eternally thanful for if, like us, you get there at midnight ! From there on, the rest was like being in an oasis. People are very nice and helpful, they love kids, nights were peaceful, you can have your breakfast whereever you wish (room, terreace, roof terrace, riad patio, etc), and have the possibility every day to book a dinner for which the cook will go to the marked to get everything fresh from the day for you. It's perfect if you have kids like ours who, after 20h are not able to walk long distances to go to a restaurant anymore because they are tired. And it's VERY good. If you wish wine, just say so ! Any little extra they will try to get for you, as long as it is among their possibilites, but as I said, they are extremely helpful. Do experience the jacuzzi after a day walking the medina ... very relaxing. And so the hammam, which was a pleasure for a first experience to be able to do that privately, booked just for you and your family ... For us, it was a wonderful experience which I would definitely recomend and would also like to come back.

A wonderful small Riad, quirky and trendy in style. The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to offer adivce and directions. Very clean throughout. Breakfast every monring on the roof terrace.

Very calming place and a world away from the manicness of daily Moroccan life.

Finding the Riad after being out during the day or night takes some getting used to and is a good 25 minute walk into the Medina and souks. The alley ways and lack of road names doesn't help, but you get used to it after a while.

The place is fantastic: in a good position and not too far from the place
People is very friendly: always with smile and relaxing
We were in the suite Oeuf : very beautiful and confortable (only a litte bit little the wc, but..no problem!)
Our friends staied in the 1001 night suite: also very beautiful (only there wasn't a light near the bed, so it wasn't possible to read when they staied in the bed..). Very nice the little garden/ terrace in front of their room !!
Very beautiful the patio with banana trees and the wather; particular (but maybee thipical in this architecture ) the rooms who are all in front of this patio; fantastic the terrace!

We stayed at this riad for 6 nights. The staff are all extremely friendly and helpful, the food is excellent. All in all excellent value for money. Just one downside, I had asked for us to be collected from the airport and booked a meal for our first night but they failed to materialise. This could have soured our holiday but everything was perfect from there on. The riad house staff have no english so you do need to speak french but even if you only have a smattering you can get by. The drivers, as well as the manager, all speak excellent english will do all they can to help, from arranging trips to explaining how things work in Morrocco. I wish I could take this riad with me wherever I wished to stay in Morrocco.

We had a wonderful time at Riad O2. We love the riad, the employers were very nice and helpful.
The Riad is very cosy and romantic.
The only querie we had has the location of the riad, a litle bit tricky during day and night, because there is always some one who tries to help you and then ask you for money.
