“Beautiful Riad and Fabulous Staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2010

We booked this hotel sight unseen but based on the reviews posted by other Trip Advisor comments. The hotel was wonderful and the staff including Mohamed were fantastic! Upon arrival at the train station we were picked up and driven over to the riad. Mohamed gave us maps, walked us to the main square and gave us great advice on a local Hamman/spa. The Riad's rooms were nicely decorated and very clean. The breakfast was good and plentiful. The roof top deck was also lovely and has a great view of the Stork's and their nests.

The Riad was about a 10 minute walk from the main square and as women we felt perfectly safe walking back to the hotel late at night.

The Riad and its rooms are very good and spacious, but the aspect which really stood out was the helpfulness of the staff. Whether the owner Paulo (who organised trips, recommended and booked restaurants), Mohammed with his willingness to assist in any way he can or Zara serving by the pool, I am sure we will remember how welcome they made us feel for a long, long time. As others have pointed out the location is good, the rooms are cool when it is hot out, quiet at night and the roof terrace takes you up into the world of the storks nesting on the Badia Palace.

We loved staying in this friendly, comfortable and well-located riad. Paolo, Mohammad, Fatima and Sara couldn't have looked after us better - nothing was too much trouble. We loved the peace and quiet, the mint tea by the pool and a delicious dinner on the roof terrace. We would love to stay again.

The moment you step into this marvelous riad, conveniently located a few minutes walk from all of Marrakesh's major attractions, you suddenly forget what a hectic, noisy yet fascinating city you just had the privilege of visiting, and are thankful to catch your breath again. Mohammed, the sweetest "jack-of-all-trades" pours you mint tea and says "relax" (one of the few English words he knows) and, indeed, a sense of peace & calm enters your soul.

Even with the door wide open to your terrace (we stayed in room 2 which remains our favorite) you only hear the cooing of birds in the morning and the "talking" of storks from the nearly Badi palace. If you are half-asleep, you might as well think you are having a sojourn in the countryside!

The riad, owned by a charming Italian man who speaks good English, exudes warmth and friendliness. Each member of the small staff genuinely cares about your well-being -- something you will never get at bigger establishments where they just want your money.

As I mentioned before, room 2 has a wonderful nice sized terrace overlooking the small central patio and it is a joy to step out of your lovely room to contemplate your Marrakesh oasis. If you are unable to book this room, you may want to visit the wonderful terrace on top of the riad...a nice place to relax and contemplate the Badi palace next door with its family of storks.

We whole-heartedly recommend this small gem of a place, though it's not a resort for families with small children. Two bug thumbs up from all members of my family (which includes an 18 year-old teenager as well), and thank you Paolo, Mohammed, Zara and Fatima for your kind hospitality!!!!

As this has been our fourth trip to Marrakech but the first stay at the guesthouse Maison Arabo Andalouse we feel comfortable making a balanced judgement. We truly recommend this beautiful riad with it's caring host Paolo and a dedicated staff around.
The location is minutes of walk away from restaurants and other hot spots in a clean and apparently very safe district of the Medina.
Our room was spacious, quiet and very clean and both the patio with pool and the roof terrace provide charming space to relax.
And as everywhere people are making the real difference: Paolo is truly taking care of his guests, willing to provide insider advice and share lots of stories about the life in Marrakech. We have really appreciated the inspiring conversations with him. Mohammed, Sarah and Fatima are hard working to make your stay an unforgetable experience.
This riad is offering the warm and personal atmosphere of a real temporary home in Marrakech - if you were looking for the typical amenities of a five star hotel better find one around, however, you then missed an opportunity!

This Ryad is very clean and comfortable. Above all, owner is very kind and gentle.
And Ryad has good location near the Funa squre.
Only one thing is difficult to find out the way to Ryad.

Best choice!!
