“A wonderful oasis in the heart of the city!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2013

We spent three wonderful nights at Maison Arabo Andalouse and really couldn't recommend it highly enough. Mohamed and his wonderful, thoughtful, friendly team simply couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome and at home. Their evening meals were delicious - and they very kindly let us eat on the roof terrace one evening - which was magical - but not for them, dragging the food up three flights of stairs. The building is wonderful and old - Fifteenth century Mohamed said - and it is directly behind the Baddi Palace and we were lucky enough to see the famous storks nesting just up above us. The rooms were all glorious and clearly the place is lovingly maintained and very well located. Overall - simply fantastic. Thanks to the whole team for a wonderful stay!

I do believe that my presence at the Riad is unnecessary as all the staff knows how receive guests with all their passion and professionalism '.
This is another confirmation of this couple which had fulfilled their wishes as to dine in the silence broken only by the calls of the storks on the large terrace.
Thank you dear guests for the recognition and appreciation of our efforts to give simply what you wish, and thanks to you my co-workers that even when there are not put into practice what I have taught you.

We stayed at Riad Maison Arabo Andalouse and I can not recommend this riad highly enough. Even before we arrived, GPaolo was extremely helpful arranging a car to collect us from the airport.

The Riad is in a great location in the medina and only a 5-10 mins walk from the main square and other attractions.

The Riad itself is a beautiful building and our room was amazing with a private sunny terrace overlooking the courtyard. GPaolo kindly showed us round all the rooms and they were all lovely with real morrocan character. The room was also exceptionally clean.

One of the highlights of the stay was the traditional morrocan breakfast every day on the terrace although the staff are more than happy to cook eggs etc if required. The terrace is a great sun spot and is next to the ruins of the old palace which is now a nesting ground for storks.

From the moment we arrived 'til the moment we left the staff were fantastic and so helpful and nothing is too much - when they found out I hadn't managed to buy a bowl from the souks I was greeted that evening with a choice of 3 bowls which Mohammed had thoughtfully gone out to get me. GPaolo also gave us excelllent advice on what to do as we only had 2.5 days in Marrakech and Mohammed helpfully arranged restaurant, taxi and hammam bookings.

I would also recommend having a meal in the evening on the terrace - Fatima is an exceptional cook and it's really beautiful in the evening.

Marrakech is an amazing city and we are already planning our next trip back to Maison Arabo Andalouse early next year.

So enthusiastic to discover the day market offered as fruits vegetable and all necessary for to cook a delight Morocco dish.
I appreciate a lot the fact they already booked for the next Spring to continue the history...............

The Maison Arabo Andalouse was a charming little place. The staff were all extremely helpful and welcoming.
The room was lovely. It was clean and had a real Moroccan feel. We had our own balcony, looking over the courtyard and the shower was surprisingly powerful. The whole place was tiled, which kept it cool, but we needed slippers. Luckily the Souks were full of sellers and it was only a short 10 min walk from the Riad. The roof terrace was a real sun trap and had lots of sun loungers to relax on. There were loads of cactuses making the terrace look pretty, but the real charm came from the storks, as the terrace backs on to El Badi Palace where they nest. We had a truly memorable moment, when we went on to the terrace at sunset and watched the storks greeting their mates with their romantic dances. At the same time the ‘call to prayer’ sang out in all directions from the numerous mosques that are housed in Marrakech.

I thank the gracious host, for the positive comments although I can not identify because of his pseudonym.
Of course the large terrace, is unforgettable for the different moments during the day and the nights for the multi activities,sunbath,tea-time listening the storks calls or on night in front of delicious Moroccan diner.

After reading the trip advisor reports we opted to book 5 nights at the Maison Arabo Andalouse and it proved to be a great choice. Paolo was a fantastic host, always attentive and available for advice and to provide much needed assistance in a potentially bewildering city.
Tucked away in what seems like the middle of the city, the hotel/Riad is tricky to locate so it's definitely advised to contact Paolo beforehand. The surrounding streets are narrow and busy with scooters flying up and down them but as soon as you walk into the Riad all that disappears and is replaced by a relaxed chilled vibe. Stunning architecture and an interesting layout make it a pleasure simply exploring. The roof terrace provides a great space for breakfast with views across the city.
The rooms are aesthetically amazing and functional but don't expect anything too modern, it's more about the character of the place. The Riad provides a great base to explore from. Paolo helped immensely to organise trips to the seaside, the Atlas mountains and around Marrakech itself. Paolo's staff were excellent, friendly and willing to assist with any random task, such as locating lost paintings on buses.
Thoroughly recommended if you are after a more genuine feel of Marakech.

I know that our Riad it's tricky to locate, but guests quite as formal as you were, intrigue me much more because I see a particular desire to study and learn, about the architecture of our traditional House, the tile work,of witch period etc....... so I'm a bit too boring deploy and advise what to see and do in bewildering Marrakesh.
Me and the Staff we are also quite discrete to live all ours guests to take advantage and relax on sun-loungers great terrace or on owner private terrace,or on the big fresh Morocco- Saloon.
Thank you for yours compliments.

My wife and I (and three friends) stayed at the Maison Arabo-Andalouse in Marrakech in mid-October. We paid 90 Euros ($122) per night for a junior suite, including breakfast each day.

There are several things we loved about our stay here. We found this riad (a traditional Moroccan home converted to a bed and breakfast) to be affordable, charming, and well-located for exploring the Medina. The innkeeper, Mohammed, was extremely helpful - arranging transfers to and from the airport and train station, purchasing train tickets for us, recommending restaurants, and providing instruction on how to find local attractions. Mohammed’s English is good; he is fluent in Arabic and French. The décor was delightful, with beautiful tilework throughout the riad. My wife and I stayed in the excellent room 8, which has an enclosed, air-conditioned bedroom, a covered outdoor seating area, and an open-air rooftop terrace. Taking all of the living space into account, the room/suite was quite spacious.

If there are negatives, the list is short. The shower was a little small, and the wi-fi works best on lower floors (barely at all on our rooftop terrace). As with almost all buildings in Morocco, there is no elevator.

Overall, we loved the Maison Arabo-Andalouse and would recommend it highly.

Room Tip: Lower levels have a stronger signal for wi-fi (and fewer stairs, obviously); however, room 8 (junior...

The riad was very pretty, and excellently located - 5 minutes from the Sadien Tombs and palaces and ten minutes to the big square. Despite being right in the middle of Marrakech, our room (no.8) was very quiet. The room was also comfortable, and large. We had a bedroom, sitting room and our own large, very private terrace with sun loungers and dining table. We had dinner up here twice and it was lovely.
The courtyard in the middle of the riad was lovely and quiet, and a great place to sit with your feet dangling in the cool water after a long hot day walking around the city.
The best thing about the riad without a doubt were the extremely friendly and welcoming staff who looked after us like we were family. Thank you to GPaulo, Muhammed, Eunice, Zara and Fatima. Zara and Fatima also prepared us a wonderful Marrakechi dinner - which was the best meal we had during our stay. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: We had room no.8, which had it had it's own private roof terrace which was fantastic.

We stayed three nights in a room for three and were well looked after. The riad is hidden away but close to the main square and is perfect for a walking tour of the Medina. The rooms are clean and air conditioned, and the service is impeccable. The roof garden is a particular feature and breakfast there was a great start to the day. Highly recommended.
