A lovely boutique style Riad, in the medina well placed for exploring Marrakesh. Breakfast and drinks on rooftop terrace. Rooms are supplied with some of the best shower gels and shampoo I have experienced anywhere, locally sourced with Argan oil and subtle scents. The hotel offers an airport pick up service that is well worth using as it takes the stress out of finding porters ( no cars can enter the narrow lanes of the Medina) and airport taxi. A little jewel !

Last December I stayed at the L'heure d'ete with my family.

I requested airport pick up on arrival to Marrakech, which they organized properly. As we arrived, the driver was waiting for us.

As the hotel is in the medina, there is no way that the taxi can take you directly to the entrance of the hotel. So the taxi left us a few minutes away and and then another person with a pushcart led the way through the winding and narrow streets to the hotel.

The hotel has an excellent location, as in 10 minutes you can walk to Djema el Fna, which is the center of activity of the medina.

From Djema el Fna, you can find all kind of restaurants, shops, etc all around, including the famous dinner places inside Djema. ( We had dinner at the 81 and the food was very good ).

Front desk staff was very friendly on our arrival.

The rooms are spotless clean, and the whole decoration and furniture looks like brand new. If you are looking for a really clean room, this is it. No Telephone or TV in the rooms, but WiFi internet worked ok most of the time.

The breakfast in the terrace was kind of basic, but delicious. The fresh orange juice is fantastic. You have bread, butter, jam, as well as coffee or tea. There is a fantastic view from the terrace also.

Only light concern might be that credit cards are not accepted at all , and payment is only cash either in Euros or Dirhams.

Overall a nice experience and absolutely recommend it !!!

  • Liked — Location is great and that rooms are really clean
  • Disliked — No TV in the rooms and no credit cards accepted.

L'Heure D'ete is located within Marrakech's old town walls, minutes from the main square and medina. Although located down a dark alley (as many of the Riads are), once inside the front door, the hotel is newly refurbished, tranquil and beautiful. The rooftop terrace (for breakfast or just relaxing) is amazing! The only down side is that the building seems to have zero sound insulation.. every sound from the lobby or even other rooms can be heard throughout.... i would consider returning, but there are also many other gorgeous riads around to try out!

  • Liked — The rooftop terrace and breakfast!
  • Disliked — Lack of sound insulation

This riad is neat, clean, quiet, and conveniently located only a three minute walk to the central market square (Jemaa El Fna) in the Old Medina. The staff is friendly and helpful. They were able to assist with good references for outside services, i.e., a day trip driver, hammam (spa), food, a bookstore with books in English, etc. I felt my property and I were both safe inside the riad. The basic room is just that. No chair, desk, phone, etc. But the bed and bath are very neat and clean and well-lit. Wi-fi access was good here. The one minor problem I had with billing was handled quickly and to my satisfaction. I haven't been to other riads to compare this one to, but I would definitely stay here again.

This modern riad is in an excellent location just off the Place Jemaa El Fna in the old town. Although the old town can be quite frantic, once you enter through the front door, which is located down a quiet alley, you leave the hustle and bustle of the Medina behind. The staff are really friendly and were able to answer any queries we had before our arrival on email. They will also arrange transfers to and from the airport and recommend restaurants/hammams etc. The roof terrace is a great place to eat breakfast as well as spend a few hours in the sun. Our room was on the small side but simply and stylishly furnished with a great bathroom. You should note that the riad doesn't take credit cards - pay by euros or dhirams only - so make sure you plan for this. All in all we had a really good experience at L'Heure d'Ete.

  • Liked — Calm and friendly
