“Excellent family break”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

Stayed at Dar Anika with our family. Fabulous stay - great riad with excellent plunge pool and roof terrace. Staff were exceptionally helpful and attentive. Roof terrace is a wonderful haven - particularly at night for sipping mint tea in peace and quite after the hustle of the square.

Rooms were quiet and peaceful (we had 3) and we all benefitted from an excellent night's sleep - even the call from the mosques was muted - we know from previous stays in other riads that it can be quite noisy!

Location is perfect - close enough to souks and close to the main palaces.

Thank you Abu, you have created a great haven in the wonderful chaos of Marrakech

Room Tip: Rooms at the back or on second floor are the best.

Beautiful place and honest and helpful staff that did everything to make it a perfect holiday. The dinner one the night of arrival (with camel meat as a bonus) was one of the most romantic nights you could imagine. Simply an amazing setting! Also fabulous breakfasts overlooking the whole of Marrakech every morning. Thank you!

We can’t think of anywhere better to stay in Marrakech.

It’s been beautifully restored, and so is a pleasing space to return to after the hustle and bustle of the city. The service is excellent. We were greeted with milk and dates, followed by mint tea and pastries. All our needs were impeccably looked after – arranging a guide, taxis, Hammam, massage. The food was excellent and plentiful. Having breakfast on the roof is a great way to start the day – with yoghurt, fruit, orange juice, eggs cooked as you want them, unusual breads. The pool offered a refreshing way to cool after a day sight seeing. Add to all that the location – just minutes from the Bahia and Badii palaces, the Sadiaan tombs, and five minutes walk to the souks. But really it is the staff who make the place feel so relaxing. All of them were attentive and very good at what they did. Would highly recommend and would stay there again

Room Tip: Our room, Number 4, was spacious and comfortable

The rooms and the service were excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The Riad has a lot of charme and feels very authentic.
Apparently it is one of the very very few Riads that is actually Moroccan managed. Most other Riads are owned by foreigners.
The guided city tour by a certified guide that is included in the rate, is the perfect way to start off the visit to Marrakesh and the equally included massage is a good way to relax after a day of visiting the city.
If you have a light sleep, the one thing you should not forget are earplugs. While you do not have any noise from the outside, the wooden doors of the rooms open onto the inner court of the Riad and you can hear everything that is going on within the Riad.

I stayed here with two friends in late Feb and had an amazing time. We were collected from the airport and received a lovely welcome by the staff at the Riad which set the scene for the perfect stay in Marrakesh. The food was amazing, whether it was the amazing luxury dinner on the first night, the delicious endless breakfast or the never ending tea and cake, oh and even a packed lunch on our way to the airport.
The room was warm and inviting and it felt like a safe haven from the world outside.
The staff were the really amazing part though, they thought of everything, apart from the obvious delicious delights above they also arranged a great trip at one of the local hammam, gave us pointers on how to get around, things to watch out for and always had a welcoming smile we came back from our walks to the Madina. Since coming home I’ve missed it every day and am planning my next trip back. I’ve recommended this beautiful Riad to friends since coming home and wouldn’t hesitate to return myself in a heartbeat.

What a fantastic wee break at Dar Anika.....

Whilst the previous reviewers have covered most of the major points, I have to say my own thank you and add my recommendation to this site.

From the moment we were collected at the airport, we were treated with such hospitality and respect. We arrived late, but were welcomed with refreshments and moist towels, plus a rose for the lady. After the initial bedlam of the airport and journey into town, Dar Anika was almost totally silent and very tranquil.

After time to freshen up, we enjoyed a banquet in the raid's covered courtyard. The food was utterly fantastic, and so much of it....... Given another opportunity, I would have this another night. We were not able to do credit to the meal - simply too knackered after the 2 flight journey from Scotland.

On our first morning, after an amazing breakfast, our genial and welcoming host Abu enquired after what we wanted to see and do in Marrakech. He gave us a map and illustrated what he thought we would like to see, an interesting route to follow with timely rest stop, plus gentle indications of "Do's & Don'ts".

Anytime we returned to Dar Anika, it was so relaxing to step from the friendly madness of the streets into the cool and friendly welcome of the raid.

I cannot ever recall having previously enjoyed a breakfast that included fresh fruit salad, cake, freshly squeezed orange juice, fresh Moroccan bread and pancakes, eggs, scones with preserves, fresh coffee.... and SOUP!. It was all delicious, heartening and just what we needed to set us up for a day in the Medina. Breakfast is served on the roof terrace, with great views of the nesting storks and in the company of the three resident tortoises.

I will recommend Dar Anika to anybody and everybody, friends and strangers. I am sure Abu, Samir and all the attentive, respectful and well mannered staff will look after you.
