“Amazing riad”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 20, 2013

We had an amazing 2 nights at Riad Dar Anika last weekend. We travelled to celebrate my own and my husband's 40th birthdays, and the trip couldn't have been more special. We were so well looked after from start to finish. The service and food was excellent and plentiful, the staff were friendly and helpful, our suite was beautiful. Highlights were an open fire bing lit in our room, breakfast on the roof terrace, "Happy Birthday" being sung in English, French and Arabic to accompany our birthday cake (not ordered or expected!), a couples hammam and massage. The staff recommended La Maison Arabe for dinner on my husband's birthday, and arranged a reservation and another surprise birthday cake.

The location of the Riad is excellent, being an easy walk to the main square, but also close to a road for ease of use of taxis.

We cannot recommend Dar Anika highly enough.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 2, a suite, which was spacious and beautiful.

We have just returned from 3 nights at Dar Anika and could not rate the hotel, the service, the breakfast, the accommodation, the whole package, highly enough! All excellent.

The decor is sumptuous and very well thought out. It is a 6 minute walk to the main square.

Everything was just perfect in every way. Well appointed room, comfortable beds, superb shower and bathroom couldn't be better.

The breakfast is great and the staff are very helpful and attentive.

Dar Anika is the place to immerse yourself in the Marrakech experience.

Fabulous boutique hotel, didn't disappoint one bit. Every aspect of stay perfect and the staff couldn't have been more helpful or delightful.

Dar Anika definitely offers good value. That does not mean it is cheap, but it is worth every penny. The attention to detail is amazing & there are so many little touches that are included - too many to remember, but they include airport taxi transfers, free tea & cakes at 4pm every day (and what superb cakes), white goose down duvet and pillows, all the advice you could ever want, etc, etc, etc, etc !
We had the best and most romantic meal of our trip to marrakesh on the terrace. 7 courses of superb food.
The room was stunning & the bed was the most comfy i have ever slept in. A hotel that really knows how to go the extra mile to ensure their guests have a remarkable stay. I would recommend Dar Anika completely & without hesitation.
Location is perfect - 5 minutes walk to the incredible main square, 1/2 minute walk to the taxi. Quiet, but right in the middle of all the action.
The whole team gave us a holiday to remember forever & we definitely plan to come back soon.
Thanks to you all !

Room Tip: I would book the suite and superior rooms.

Morroco has been on our travel radar for sometime and we finally went two weeks ago for 5 nights, which as we quickly learned was 2-3 nights too many.
While we stayed in a very authentic Riad (Riad Dar Anika) on the edge of the Medina, where the staff were excellent and attentive, and clearly anxious to ensure we were well looked after, our room was tiny and cramped mostly occupied by a traditional poster double bed and one upright chair and one reading light, and certainly did not meet the description on the website of being "a double room and seating area."
The local souks and large market square were bustling and interesting, but being perstered on all sides by sellers and beggars did not help. A day trip to the nearby Atlas Mountains was very interesting but the tombs are vastly over rated.
Should have booked for 2-3 days not 5.
At least we have crossed Morroco and Marakesh off the list.

Room Tip: Make sure you ask for the larger rooms preferable away from the cupbioards the maids use in the earl...

We have had the most excellent 3 day weekend.
Traditional welcome followed by an excellent 'briefing' to ensure we made the most of what was available and stayed safe.
Our room was great and the staff were all so caring and attentive.
We had one dinner in the hotel which was a real Moroccan experience.
Just a superb place to stay in a complex and exciting city.

We have stayed at many places around the world but Dar Anika has been the best by far. We were welcomed like family and treated like royalty. Every little touch made our experience wonderful. The manager, Samir, and his loyal staff made us very comfortable. The riad is in a great location at the entrance of the medina. Breakfasts on the sunny rooftop were a delight and the dinner was an absolute feast. Magic!

Simply superb. The owner and staff looked after us like kings.Fantastic location.
The owner gives you a map and shows you should you wish places to go and see.

Couple of points Taxis from the airport are going to cost you 100-150dhr they will try to charge 250dhr.
The walk from the taxi too the raid is 30seconds and the barrow boys will try to charge you 50dhr...ho ho.
Count your money when using a bureau de change they will try to short change you.
Go to the Kosy bar for a mojito.
Shoe shine boys will try to stiff you for 200dhr we paid 20dhr and they give you he whole hurt act....then walk away smiling.Dont get up set when bartering keep it friendly.
There is a cafe de epice which was just ok...a much nicer experience was terrace de epice in the souk... good luck trying to find it.
