“Excellent clean hotel, great quiet pool.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2010

The hotel is in a good location close to the train station. It is a 10-15minute walk from the new town and 20 minute walk from the old town. We walked to both several times in the heat but all the other guests would hop into taxis outside the hotel which were readily available. Rooms are clean and ours was spacious. The food at breakfast was tasty, a selection of salad, bread and meat was there. Also they had cereal, yoghurt and loads of pastries if you like it sweet. The chef will cook you fresh moroccan pancakes which are great with honey. The pool was always quiet when we were there which made a great escape from the hectic city and humid heat.

Read a pile of poor reviews on tripadvisor before going and were very concerned we were heading for a nightmare. Nothing could have been further from the truth. Rooms spotlessly clean and spacious. Reception staff spoke decent English and as helpful as any in the service industry are anywhere else. Food was decent and plentiful. Okay not really a 4* hotel but this is North Africa not Europe and were were not paying a lot - it felt like terrific value. Had the pool to ourselves on the 3 days we spent by it. Yes the hotel is located a 20 dirham taxi ride or a decent walk from the old city - thank heavens! With a young child we found it far more preferable to go there at a time of our own choosing and were vvery happy indeed to have the relative sanity of the Ville Nouvelle on our doorstep instead. My advice - go - and enjoy yourselves!

What can i say?..this hotel is definately a little gem in Gueliz. Located centrally, all sights and facilities where within a short walking distance or a short cab ride away. Staff were friendly and always eager to help. The shower in our room was broken and was fixed immediately plus when i locked my keys into my suitcase and then locked it, i was reassured and a handyman was sent up straight away to help me out of my dilema...luckily for me the use of some pliers and strong force saved the day!
I really hope we are not an exception to the rule as i genuinely felt safe and looked after at the hotel. the only drawback was the breakfast...same old same old...standard pastries and scrambled eggs. its alright for a day or two but not every day!

Lovely hotel! Brilliant service! Clean rooms, cleaned daily. Lovely aray of buffet breakfast, gorgeous moroccon pancakes, cereal, bread roles, yoghurts, fruit, ham, cheese, scrambled egg, hard boiled eggs. Spoilt for choice! Relaxing environment.
Had the pool to ourselves, brillilant location, come out of hotel, turn left and go past the theatre on the way to the old town (30 mins max walk) or if turn right out of hotel, long stretch of road to gardens with beautiful views of snow topped mountains with restaurants along road.
Recommend restaurant on the road to old town 'Le Charlotte' a Charlie Chaplain inspired restaurant, brill service and food.

This is a really nice hotel. If you are driving anywhere in Morocco, you should know that most hotels do not have street address numbers. So...finding your hotel can be a challenge even with a GPS. This one is located directly across the street from the main theater (a whole city block) and next to the new train station in Marrakech which includes restaurants, shops and an ATM that is watched over by a security guard. The rooms are clean and well appointed, the staff is wonderful. Short daytime walk (or night cab ride) to the Medina and the famous souks. You can park right in front of the hotel. Like most hotels at this price, the rooms are not luxurious but they are very nice and well kept. Take the double-decker tour bus to get your bearings.

This hotel is classified as a 4-star but should be a 3-star. As a 3-star hotel it is not bad, though a long way from the sights of Marrakech - about a 40-minute walk (or take a petit taxi for 20 dirhams). If you use the trains it would be very convenient, though, being only about 100 metres from the railway station. The receptionist was neither friendly not competent. We had been advised to ask for a room on 3rd or 4th floor facing away from main road to avoid noise - we made this request when we reserved - then were given a 1st floor room facing the road. We complained and they changed it to a 4th floor room facing the pool, which was fine. But we shouldn't have had to complain, they should have got it right the first time. The 4th floor room was very pleasant (for a 3-star hotel) and quiet. The buffet breakfast is basic but OK - they make riifa (Moroccan pancake) on demand. There was fruit yogurt, but no plain yogurt. The only hot items other than the riifa are scrambled egg and boiled egg but there is a wide choice of breads/pastries, and a choice of accompaniments for the riifa (olives, sheep cheese, honey).
As is normal in a 3-star hotel, it helps a lot to be able to speak a local language (e.g. French) if you plan to stay here.
Don't use the hotel to get taxis - you will be overcharged. Go onto the main road and hail a "petit taxi". There are plenty of them. Agree the price before getting in; 20 dirhams to anywhere in the Old Town is reasonable.
Would I recommend this hotel? It depends. If you are in Marrakech for sightseeing and want to go to the Medina every day, the location is a bit inconvenient, and I'd recommend you find somewhere nearer the Medina. Otherwise: off-season, when you can get a quiet room, yes. If you use the trains, yes (the location near the station is then an advantage).
