Dar Silsila is excellent. I've stayed in numerous, more expensive riads in Marrakech (chosen using the various Moroccan interior design books - they're all great too) so booked this expecting a cheap, basic hotel. Not so. It's just as good as the more expensive riads in terms of quality of offering, friendliness of staff and central location (opposite the famous Tobsil restaurant and only a short walk from the edge of the medina so easier to find at night and access by car than other riads). Incredible value for money.

Really great place. Beautiful interior and rooms. We had a huge, comfortable bed. Breakfast was excellent and the staff were faultless. We couldn't have been happier. Many thanks for a great stay!

I stayed at the Riad Dar Silsila in March for 3 nights with 2 friends. We had the most fantastic time, very much thanks to Mohammed, Jean-Patrick and the rest of the staff.

I must admit, I was a little nervous at the prospect of going to Marrakech. I had no idea what to expect and was worried about the culture shock that awaited me.

We asked the riad to arrange an airport transfer when we arrived and I highly recommend doing this. It took all the stress out of trying to find the riad ourselves.

As soon as we arrived we were ushered into a relaxing reception area and given mint tea and biscuits. Jean-Patrick sat down with us (and a map!) and recommended places to go, sights to see and things to eat. It made us feel so welcome and very comfortable in the city.

The riad is really close to the souks and the square and, despite this, is like an oasis of calm. We spent every evening on the roof terrace with a bottle of wine, soaking up the great weather.

I couldn't recommend Riad Dar Silsila more highly. When we left after 4 days, we felt like we were leaving friends behind.

Dar Silsila is a fantastic riad and made our stay in Marrakech great. Firstly it is in a great location - easy to walk to Jamaa el Fna and all the attractions of Marrakech. Secondly, the service you receive at the riad is great. They are so accommodating, there is always free mint tea/biscuits/coffee, breakfast is included and it is delicious (especially the home-made yogurt and the orange juice!) and you can take it on the roof-top terrace if you like to soak up the sun! They were so helpful in organising our day trips, airport transfers and providing us with general knowledge of Marrakech. The rooms themselves are lovely, comfortable beds and beautiful bathrooms - plus airconditioning! I highly recommend this Riad!!

We moved to Dar Silsila from another riad after deciding to extend our stay in Marrekesh. From the first moment we arrived, everything was perfect. Our room was larger than at the previous location, for a lower price. The bed was so comfortable and the ambiance of the room-- and the entire riad-- was fabulous.
The owner and every person on the staff took time to provide advice and answer every question that we had. And they have a laptop available for travelers (like us) needing internet access. The location is perfect for shopping in the souks or to get to other parts of the city.
Although we checked out in the morning, they offered to store our luggqge for the day and invited us to use the public areas of the riad in the afternoon before we had to depart for a night train.
The rooftop sitting area has wonderful spots for lounging; or to eat a lovely breakfast with fresh squeezed orange juice that is a Marrekesh specialty. Any time of the day you can request complimentary mint tea or coffee.
We are already dreaming of the day when we can return to Dar Silsila, and stay for a much longer visit. We feel that we have been treated like family and we can't wait to come back!

You will not be disappointed if you choose to stay at De Silsia. Jean Patrick and his team will make sure you are well looked after and well informed so that you can really enjoy the Marrakesh experience. Have the transfer from the airport, it is well worth it. Try the restaurants suggested and definately have one meal at the Rjad. The roof terrace is lovely and with a glass of mint tea to help you relax after a day in the medina you will feel you have arrived!

Arrived back last night from a wonderful 4 night stay at Dar Silsila.

The riad is in the perfect location, just a few minutes from the Souks and Jema el Fna.

We would suggest getting Dar Silsila to arrange your transfer from the airport. Otherwise, you will get lost finding the Riad.

Jean-Patrick's suggestions for restaurants and trips were excellent and Mohammed and the rest of the team were always polite, friendly and helpful.

We stayed in a suite and were glad of the extra bit of space in the room to relax in. The riad was perfectly clean, breakfast lovely (homemade yoghurt, fresh bread, pastries, freshly squeezed orange juice, tea/coffee) and set us up for the day. We had a meal there, which was excellent and we would recommend doing this on one of your evenings in Marrakech.

Any time of the day, just ask and you can have tea, coffee and biscuits - and any where in the Riad but we usually sat downstairs where you can get a Wifi connection. When the weather is warmer the terraces look very appealing to relax in.

We felt safe in Marrakech and really enjoyed the experience of being there.

I would highly recommend staying at Dar Silsila but remember that these are top class bed and breakfast hotels and not 5* international chains. If this is what you want, stay elsewhere but if you want personal service, in a traditional Morrocan house that is a retreat from the hussle and bussle of the city then I couldn't recommend any where better to stay. In fact it is one of the best places that my husband and I have ever stayed in. If we ever visit Marrakech again, this is where will be staying.
