“A lovely oasis right in the centre”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2011

We really enjoyed our stay in the Casa Lalla. Pierre-Olivier and Annabelle couldn't have been more attentive and welcoming as were all their staff. The experience of being looked after like this puts any normal hotel stay to shame. But it wasn't intrusive or 'in your face' - just relaxed, friendly and very considerate. For example, any logistical detail was covered and taken care of (taxis, restaurant bookings, excursions etc) - even when we hadn't asked and were simply unaware!

The Riad itself is beautifully designed and furnished with great attention to detail and the roof terrace was a real haven both at breakfast and after a long day in the city.

Casa Lalla was recommended to us by a friend and what a fabulous recommendation it was! It's simply a haven of relaxation which is just what you look for after a day exploring the souks. The roof terrace could be a million miles away from the madness of the Place Jemaa el Fna and the Riad is simply but beautifully furnished. I agree with others, the breakfasts are fabulous and the staff helpful and very welcoming. The Hamman and massages on site are a bonus! It was great to be collected from the airport as the Medina can be confusing at first.

The owners of Casa Lalla are perfect hosts and the style and quality of their service was most relaxing and enjoyable. We had never stayed in a riad before and I was particularly interested in discovering more about the style of the architecture and how this typical Moroccon design has worked for so many years.

The attention to the detail of the fixtures, fittings, furniture, furnishings, and decor is just beautiful and you won't be disappointed; it's an oasis in the middle of one of the world's most exciting cities.

My husband and I chanced on Casa Lalla. We were staying at a large hotel on the outskirts of Marrakech and for our last night wanted to stay in a Riad. This one ticked all the boxes. We had a sumptuous meal cooked by the owner which combined his french cooking expertise with local ingredients, our room was elegant, immensely comfortable and stunningly furnished as was the whole riad. We had a Hammam and massage on site which was just what we needed and excellently delivered. The breakfast was a real treat - freshly squeezed orange juice, local breads, eggs cooked to request, coffee. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. Perfect.

My boyfriend recommended Casa Lalla after a trip there 5 years ago when he just had dinner in the Riad - for ages he has been saying how wonderful it was and that we must go there. The rooms were beautiful, the roof terrace was spectacular but the best thing about Casa Lalla is the food and the owner Pierre.
The food is chosen that morning from the markets and then made into a 4 course delight! The setting is beautiful and it is an extremely special place.
Anyone who is wanting to sample French-Moroccan cuisine to the highest standard in a wonderful riad must go there

I have just come back from a week in Morocco with my partner and our two teenage children, we stayed three nights at Casa Lalla and would definitely recommend it. First the location is ideal, very central and just a short walk to Jemaa el Fna and the souks, Maison Tiskiwin museum and Dar Menebhi palace. The riad is situated off a busy street so there is everything you need close by but the actual location is really peaceful and calm and makes an ideal retreat. The decor is simple and elegant, the lighting is low which contributes to the atmosphere of privacy and seclusion. There is a wonderful roof terrace with great views and comfortable loungers. The owners Pierre and Annabel were welcoming and helpful and helped us acclimatise quickly. They arranged a hamman and helped us organise transport to our next location.

This beautifully restored & very pretty riad with 8 rooms (including suites), all en suite, owned & run by Pierre-Olivier & wife Annabelle is right in the heart of the old city so ideally located for access to all the extraordinary sights of old Marrakech & the nouvelle ville.
It features a room terrace & hamman where luxurious spa treatments are available. The hosts will organise shopping trips if desired & taxi or bus excursions (for 1 day or longer) to the many interesting destinations outside Marrakech.
In all a most charming & very tranquil & private place to stay with very amiable hosts & staff run on a very personal but professional basis.
