“Lovely Hotel, Friendly Staff, Great Breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2013

This hotel was part of a last minute deal booked through Opodo, which was v good value for money. When we saw the rates displayed in the hotel reception area we realised how good value the deal had been - we had saved a lot!
The hotel is such calming welcome relief from the dusty mayhem outside. Reception is a cool, ornate atrium with a fountain filled with rose petals, and we were served mint tea on arrival. My room was spotless. The furniture was traditional, although there was a lot of it in quite a small room. I had a small double to myself (it was booked as a single room) and a large bathroom with lots of hot hot water at all times. Room was made up immaculately every day, clothes hung up, and I felt very well looked after at all times.
The breakfast was a buffet style, breads, cakes, pastries, and then eggs and pancakes cooked on a griddle to order. Tea and Coffee etc were available, as were juices and water.
The only minus really was staying at the same time as an unbelievably loud and irritating Dutch tour group. the demolished the breakfast in about 10 minutes, smoked everywhere, and dressed wildly inappropriately for the country they were in. They were just so LOUD> but of course this is nothing to do with the hotel whatsoever.
I can't comment on the Dinner offering as i was staying B&B - there are lots of trendy french style bistros nearby, or the centre is very close for more traditional food.
Overall, a charming, beautiful hotel, just outside the centre but only 4DHM (£0.30!) on the public bus straight to the square. Highly recommended.

Near to the medina. Good restaurants nearby. Service ok but can be cold in the lobby area in Jan due to the way the hotel is built...would recommend as a budget hotel with easy access to the attractions

My wife and I have stayed in every kind of accomadation around the world and judge on expectation: especially clean beds and bathrooms and particularly the staff. Any establishment is only as good as its staff. There is no doubt that this hotel is about as authentic as you can get. The colours of the furniture and fittings was stunning.
Our room had two single beds that were drapped in curtains. We always insist on a double bed, but loved the layout and were very happy to take singles. It was very clean and the bathroom had a bath so deep it was heaven. If the windows were open it could be noisy with the car horns, but it didn't bother us and there were double glazed windows and internal glazed windows with coloured glass.
The breakfast was served on the roof terrace either in the open or in a large tent. When you are walking round museums, markets, shops and going on excursions all day, you need a big breakfast and you certainly got that, with pancakes, cereal, bread, at least six different cakes and dried and fresh fruit. In the evening it was a six course Morrocan meal, and different every night. As it was January it could be cold on the roof terrace, not that we were complaning after leaving six inches of snow in the UK.
We were worried that this hotel would be too far from the medina, but it was an easy walk, and walking, rather than a taxi, gives you a better insight. One of the jewels of Marrakech, the Majorelle Gardens and museum, is just around the corner. The temperature, in the daytime, was about 63f. just right for walking.
I have problems because of cancer, so the two lifts were an asset. The staff were superb and were always willing to help with advice on the best value restaurants, and sightseeing and, always had a smile from when we arrived untill we left after five days.

My boyfriend and I booked this hotel even though it wasn't in the main old city of Marrakech, it's situated in the new, up and coming busy and well developed part of town outside the old wall. Although the old city is approx 2km walk away down the Main Street, there's plenty to see on the way, or you can negotiate some petit taxi fares.

The hotel itself was fabulous, the reception area was beautiful, fountains and embellished chairs, and you can see right up to the roof. Inside the room, it was busy with materials and colours and patterns, really authentic feel, nice sized room with plenty of space. It was also very clean.

The staff were helpful and friendly, speaking good English even though we started the conversation in French.

The breakfast was mediocre however, although this may be put down to the fact that neither of us like breakfast much, and we didn't go to the roof where breakfast was served until 9.30 or 9.45 and the breakfast finished at 10am, having been sitting there for 3 hrs. Plenty of choice tho, just a little too many sweets and cakes for us English used to bacon and eggs.

The only other small let down was the evening meal. We went bed and breakfast as we love eating in different restaurants, but guide books recommend at least one nights dinner in the riad. It was a every traditional, 4 course meal, Moroccan salad, veg soup, main and seasonal fruit. Whilst everything else was tasty, fresh and homemade, we were disappointed with the main course as we only got one chicken thigh each and a whole mound or vermicelli with no sauce. We quickly learned that sometimes when u have main courses in Marrakech, they aren't very big as starters, salads and soups are served in huge portions.

All in all, The hotel and the staff made our visit to Marrakech very enjoyable and we would highly recommend for anyone looking to discover Moroccan delights.

With a small noisy room in the basement and not very nice breakfast on the roof terrace, there isn't much nice to say about the experience at the hotel. It doesn't have much to offer by way of entertainment / dining either so we only came back to sleep really. The staff are nice and were very helpful by way of telling you things to do etc. It's also got a very charming traditional style/look and the location is in a safe neighbourhood in the nice part of town yet a 25min walking distance away from Medina and Jemma el-Fna square and the souk markets.

I am really impressed with this hotel.
The staff greeted us well on arrival and they could not of possibly been more friendly throughout our stay. After we checked in the security guard took our cases and us up to our room and explained how everything worked and where everything was in the hotel.
The moroccan themed rooms are of a great size with the beds being four poster. The rooms are very clean and well looked after by the maids.
Breakfast in this hotel is served on the roof where you have the choice to eat inside in a Moroccan themed tent-like room or to eat out in the open in the sunshine. There is a wide choice of food for breakfast (no fry up though, but no issue for us). All the choices are very nice and filling, so you go out on the town full of energy. We chose to eat in the sunshine most mornings as it was nice and warm, which was very scenic as we gazed over at the mountains in the distance.
Dinner (if you go half board) is a set menu, different every night, of Moroccan style food. This is served downstairs in the restaurant. Every night was a delicious meal, which from me is good as I am a fussy eater.
Also in this hotel is the spa in the basement, which my wife visited for an hour long massage, which she thoroughly enjoyed.
The hotel has a medium sized pool, but due to the time of year it was a bit on the chilly side so we didn't use it.
